One thing I've always appreciated about you Joey is that when you get more fish we can tell that it's because you love fish (and a little bit because you lack impulse control XD). Often many popular pet channels seem to get more pets just to keep the content and the views flowing. But when you do it, I just see a fishkeeper just like the rest of us who can't help but get "just a few more" fish.
he spoke before about how he did indeed fall into that trap and that's why he is now going forward looking at more permanent tanks that he can mature instead of refreshing the tanks and inhabitants every few months.
@@Mike-xx1on he took them to his local fish store as it also doubles of a rescue. He also sometimes takes in fish to foster from the local store when they get over filled.
Joey, these scats are absolutely stunning. The main thing that I like about your channel is that I always learn about the different fish, so keep doing what you're doing :)
So, I have kept scats for 14 years. I have had them all, including the freshwater one, scatophagus tetrachanthis. Greens are my favorite. Gonzo was his name, and he moved all over the states with me over 10 years before he passed. He still holds a very special place in my heart.
Keep getting fish that you like, your passion and excitement is what draws me to your videos! Doing what you love, in return there is much enjoyment of your videos. You can tell when you're not too into it. Keep it up man, you're awesome!
You’ve opened a whole new world for me. Not that I’m going to start raising this type of fish, but to learn more about the inhabitants of our planet there are so many different fish that I have never heard of and you bring it to us with your big heart .Love what your doing making us aware of different species and how to care for them. it’s not just buy some fish put them in an aquarium and forget it . It’s caring and loving what happens to your fish . Thank you for being you ,don’t ever change . 🥰❤️ 😻
Hey Joey, usually when fish lay flat like this it is because the fish is so used to the low pressure in the shipping bag and the high pressure in your tank push them to the bottom or make them spin. It always happens with my long shipment of discus fish, I recommend draining your tank water tile so the fish can get up by itself. This method is always working for me.
Don't worry about what to get, its your aquariums, your fish, most people seem to be really into learning about new fish that we didn't really know about. While its great to have common fish that everyone can get and learn from, you have been doing this for quite a while that i feel like you deserve to get the fish you always wanted and to document us or even yourself on them. We really are here to observe and learn. Its utterly amazing seeing the scat's really care for the struggling mono like its one of their family members.
I really liked the updates you did throughout the night. Your quarantine tank became a recovery tank and it was interesting to see them go from almost dead to swimming around.
I guess Scats are like the Shamans of the fish world. At the least, they gave the injured fish a lil more comfort & a lil less stress. That had to help the survival rate. Cool to see.
I guess I am more pessimistic, and it looked like they were all hanging out checking "are you food yet? no, ok we will wait...how about now, ok we will check back". I didnt realize the archer fish were brackish...ie you mentioned adding the new brackish fish to the archer tank, but I thought you had those in freshwater tanks before, right? ie the 2000 was where they were for a while and that was not brackish. Thx to wikipedia: "Most species live in fresh water rivers, streams and pools, but two or three are euryhaline, inhabiting both fresh and brackish water habitats such as estuaries and mangroves." So hopefully the archer fish you have are some of the brackish ones. Really enjoyed your video as always though. :)
The scats are quite fascinating! Their faces are so so cute to start with, but on certain angles they look just like brown fish, and then they turn and you see their unique colours and markings! They are quite beautiful, and how they all surrounded the mono that looked like it was dying! It was beautiful to watch
Scat Joey doesn't sound right lol. I've been fallowing you for about 9 years, and haven't seen you this excited in a long time. Congrats and keep it up.
Good job Joey. So happy for you. Those scatts reminded me of a heard of elephants. Though the sick fish was not really one of their own, they gathered around and didn't abandon their "friend"
Good to see u still dropping knowledge Joey... Just stopping by to show love and thank u for sharing bro.. i build my indoor pond using your pond build diy.. and my koi room.. see u on the next one bro...
Honestly fantastic content. Has to be one of my favourite videos from you, Joey! So much passion and it’s amazing to see. Some faith restored in humanity for me tonight; also, not to forget how stunning those scats are.
I am so glad you got Mono's and Scats. I always wanted some and saw them in my local fish store quiet often. I look forward to seeing them in future videos
This was amazing to watch! Thanks for sharing this. That's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in the aquarist world! I'm so glad I got to see this. Scats are an awesome fish.
This was like watching a Hallmark channel movie. Sad for the ones that didn't make it, but so happy for the fight in the others that pulled through. Best of luck with them.
I dont know about everyone else, but I love all the crazy fish you bring in. It expands my knowledge and that is more powerful than anything. Keep doing you!
Would love to see you do malawi cichlids again, especially tanzania star sapphires, the changes they go through is fascinating and the mature fish in my opinion is the most phenomenal in the freshwater world!!!!
My christmas wrasse did something similar a while ago! My Canary Blenny wasn’t eating, and the wrasse kept gobbling up pellets and shrimp and spitting them out into the cave the blenny was in. Fish are so amazing!
I just want to say this must be hands down one of the best videos you have released so far !! And them skats are just incredible fish!! Full hats off to you for bringing back all the monos that where not dead well done !!
Hey Joey, I’m really pleased that you have adopted these two species. I’ve always been fascinated by them. I’m looking forward to seeing how you build them a home.
Joey, that was like a suspense documentary. If you ever have a second calling, maybe you should think about directing! I really love the fish and can't wait to learn more about them and see how they mature. Might just have to add brackish tank to my wishlist. Take care and God bless.
Love this style of video and chat it’s 100% genuine and real and feels so natural like your mate has just sent you a message, as for the fish 🤩 wow who knew Scats were awesome fish?! Thanks for doing what you do ✌🏻
This is a favorite. Those scars are awesome. Yes they are beautiful but it is there personality I just love..calm..friendly..bold..and date I say..caring. The way they were encouraging that struggling Mono was amazing. And your care and enthusiasm just made the already good video great.
Those Scats are awesome! The survival of both Scats and Mono was incredible. Thank you for your channel Joey, in my dreams I have all the fish tanks just like yours, but you make dreams come true-just by sharing your honest and truthful videos. And yes, those scats are beautiful. 😊
Joey Red Scats are scavenger's, I have kept them many times they are like not like cows, they are like vultures waiting for the animal to die, so that they can tear it apart.
Thear where dead fish in the tank why huddle around the one that's still alive if thay just wanted a easy meal most fish that Aggressive would move in for the feast knowing it couldn't get away predators don't normally have the common Courtesy to let you die on your own time from my experience
I loved the argus scat I used to have. It was such a personable fish that was fun to interact with, loved to eat anything offered to it, and was tough enough to survive two major disasters that happened to my tank like they never happened.
That is very interesting how the Scats stayed around that one….I would have thought initially that they were like vultures waiting for death…..but no it seems just the opposite! Wow!! Very cool!!
Awesome! The Scats were rallying that one Mono to keep on trying to keep fighting for his life. Definitely awesome to see that. You are absolutely phenomenal to notice that!! Can’t wait to see them in the tank with the archers.
Hey Joey, love the video! Idk if you'll see this but floating the fish is actually better for temperature acclimation even if the room is the same temperature because water has a much higher heat capacity than air, meaning it can better transfer the energy needed to get the bags up to temp. Overall it takes longer to temperature acclimate in air than water. Sorry if you already knew this, hope this helps!
In my opinion, I think the scats were swimming around hin to give him more oxygenated water so he can breathe because he couldn't move , what amazing video it really touch my heart ❤❤

I love the work you put into your channel as well as having to deal with a fish room of that calibre. Awesome work dude, keep up the good work. Your knowledge of fish & the water they are in is incredible. Ps. Those Scat's are so humble, I love them!
Very Oscar like, hours after being added and already displaying that puppy like fearless curiosity at the front of the tank. Individually the 3 species are okay, BUT should be a good mix of size, shapes, colors, activity levels and water column usage to make for a very entertaining tank. Looking forward to seeing the first feeding as well as how they compete for food, especially once the Archers start dropping treats into the tank.
Only halfway through the video. But can't wait to see these fish thriving. Always loved looking at these at the fish store just no room for a brackish tank at the moment

Well considering they eat anything it's a possibility. Like when vultures watch their prey before they die
