I find it really strange that E Gadd was so money hungry in Luigi's mansion 3 when at the end of the first game he told Luigi that he could keep all the treasure that was found in the mansion because E Gadd claimed and I quote "I have no interest in such stuff, so go ahead keep it all use it however you like" yet back to the third game he wanted money in exchange for some of his help.
The thing about the whole "E. Gadd intentionally gave bowser Jr the paintbrush" the thing is, its never stated WHEN he god the shadow disquise, so for all we know, he could have worn the mask trying to cause havok with the mask. Then E gadd gave it to him as defense after the king boo situation. But soon later finds out that the person he gave the brush to was bowser junior, then he dropped off fludd for mario. But who know i could just be crazy.
Crazy conspiracy theory for you: The talking portraits in the second room you ever entire in luigi's mansion 1 after you collect the poltergust, yeah those portraits. Those portraits are probably a family, the family that had a grudge against the boo race because of how powerful the boos are, the proof of their power difference is how hard it is to capture a boo than to capture a ghost in a room in luigi's mansion. Plus, in the first game, the boos were trapped under a cellar behind a wall with no door but a switch outside of your limited view. That is why the ghosts in the games are different from the boos. They are a different species, and the family in the portraits, is the original family of that species. That hotel manager in the 3rd game, most probably a descendant of the family, a continuous grudge against king boo because of his power. And because king boo has found the crown with the jewel of power, king boo was STRONGER than ever, but the family was not going to let that happen. So they trapped him under a walled off cellar in a mansion that disappears out of nowhere and is full of ghosts that hate the boos but can't stand a chance against one. The ghosts can't see eachother when they go invisible, and the boos are always invisible and they are quite powerful, so the family trapped king boo before he grew too powerful, the family snatched the crown away from king boo before he did but the family was already surrounded by boos so they set up a trap in the cellar for king boo and his boos, the cellar was filled with a white fog that can nullify king book's power once he wears the crown, and they could not go through the cellar or the walls, they were trapped, the family couldn't take the crown for their own because the crown's power was too much that it could corrupt their soul so much that the soul itself would break from the power. But the boos, being a superior species, were capable of taking over the crown but only a specific boo could take over the crown, not the king boo from other mario games, another boo with a power of being above other boos because of their united strength on that one boo because of his leadership. The proof that this is a different boo, is because in mario kart tour, there is king boo normally, and king boo from the luigi's mansion games, they are both different boos, one is the true king and one is the power corrupted king. A war that still rages on with the corrupted king and the family blood line. E.Gadd is the mad scientist who just stumbled upon the ghosts, or so we think, and just took a liking to the ghosts, especially his curiosity of how the ghosts are what they are and what they are capable of. E.Gadd has been turning the tables of the war back and forth time and time again. Just for his curiosity of the ghosts power and capabilities. Luigi is just his way of being able to experiment with the ghosts in a situation that E.Gadd can't perform alone, and to make the ghosts think that what is happening is really happening and that nothing is a science experiment. But the E.Gadd has fooled everyone just to get his hands on that sweet knowledge. The proof of that is because in the second game, breaking the dark moon is a risk that could result in E.Gadd's life. It was an experiment that he really wanted an answer to, so he hired luigi for his experiments that he couldn't succeed in himself. Please make a theory about this.
Do you think it may have been the ghosts who sent the invitation to Luigi? They probably wanted his help to catch the boos and to stop E.Gadd from experimenting on them. Eventually they all get trapped into posters, but only one of them likes it.
When E. Gadd decided he was done with Thwomp Volcano, he explicity stated that he was going to Boo Woods. His statement about how he was getting to old for ghost-catching could imply that he has been catching ghosts in order to study them. Aside from that, the rest of the video is pretty solid.
It makes sense with the portrait ghosts. He must have caught them when he was younger which is why he was now struggling with a basic ghost. Also king boo is the one that sent the invite and they were not trapped in the cellar it was where they were hiding
Luigi’s mansion 3 is just an improve version of Mario hotel After you beat Mario hotel, everyone abandoned it for many years until E. Gadd found it in ruins with a small population of ghosts roaming it So wait E. Gadd decided to do is hire the mansion owner and improve the mansion so it doesn’t look similar in many ways Then E. Gadd released all of the ghosts for Luigi to suck them up so he could study how to improve the poltergeist for Luigi and his next adventure
First, E. Gadd was in that area of Luigi's Mansion and said that the Mansion appeared a few days ago and I would go exploring in a creepy mansion that just appeared a few days ago. The portrait ghosts are his that got out of their portraits.
I have a feeling that the moment that E Gadd trapped Luigi in the cage in Luigi’s mansion 3 was foreshadowing something that might come up in the future Besides, I think the whole reason that King Boo has beef with him and Luigi is because, well, E Gadd literally barged into an abandoned mansion and started sucking up innocent ghosts who were probably just try to live their afterlife in peace
"why is e. gadd in luigis mansion?" do you not understand the plot? The mansion appeared behind his lab, luigi doesnt have ownership nor would e. gadd know luigi was invited as he did not send the letter
Considering that E-gadd said that the mansion gets more ghosts every day, that implies that he's been there before. So maybe he just found some paranormal frequency. Also, I think the reason King Boo wasn't doing anything about it was either he didn't know or he was hiding, waiting for Luigi. Because he said Luigi's *FINALLY* here, like he was waiting for him to come.
He's not really evil, but science comes first, and good comes second. An example would be selling King Boo in a garage sale, likely to help pay for his research.
I love your intro! it is amazing!!! I think that E Gadd gave Bowser Jr the paint brush because he didn't know that he would ruin Island Dalphino, And when he found out about what he did with the paint brush he made F.L.U.D.D to fix the mistake he made. P.S. Your big brained.
4:04 gadd didn't GIVE Mario fludd, Mario FOUND fludd all on his own so he aided the villain (no fucking WAY he didn't know who bowser Jr was considering he looks EXACTLY like his dad) and was nowhere to be found when the hero needed help thats one example of him being a bad guy
What I find strange is that they recently added King Boo to Mario Kart Tour but there's the normal one that we normally see and then as the rare character, they have a King Boo labeled (Luigi's Mansion) on it. It's almost as if they're treating these two King Boos as separate entities, and it makes sense since Mario Sunshine also had a version of King Boo (although it just looked brain dead)
Do you so notice how paint from Paper Mario's world works the same way as goop! It's obvious paint brings the paper to life so the goop brought what was a simple book to life!
That's exactly what he is. The proof is there giving bowser jr the paintbrush was a mistake. Giving mario the fludd was his way to resolve it. He give a Luigi everything he needs to capture the ghosts. he had caught them in his youth but was now too old for it they were released by the boos
The Mansion in the beta was supposedly E. Gadd's but in the final game he said the mansion appeared a few days ago. "The spirits have fooled you." Is what he tells Luigi when he heard Luigi's story on the mansion he supposedly won. What IS shady is him capturing innocent ghosts and putting them in paintings, that's kind of messed up. But he was also in the wrong in Dark Moon for unresponsibly selling the King Boo painting in a Garage sale, inevitably and unintentionally causing King Boo's escape from the painting.
This used to be a solid theory until Luigi’s mansion 3 when we see that e gadd was tricked and we see king boo is clearly evil and the ghosts are hostile without use of the dark moon
Here’s my theory on sunshine: E-Gadd finds bowser JR. as an associate, a test partner per say. So gained trust with JR. leads E-Gadd to allowing JR. to test his new contraption. (The brush) he notices that the intent of JR. is not what he first imagined. He remembers back to the incident from luigis mansion 1 where the ghost had overpowered him. He thinks to himself: “if a ghost could beat me... then bowser JR. could too...” he thinks of a plan, when he notices princess peaches jet. He presumes that mario is there and leaves Fludd to help Mario. He the flees so that bowser junior wouldn’t know about him giving fludd to Mario, knowing he would be furious
I know this is a little late, but here’s a slightly different but more interesting theory: what if the crystal on King Boo’s head is alive and is the one holding the grudge, and what if it’s using its powers to force E. Gadd to do all this so it can get back to the powerful King Boo and have its vengeance against the brothers! We don’t know much about the crystal, so it could be something more dangerous than people think.
Elvin Gadd is clearly not a villian but a scientist, he does crazy things for research like giving the paintbrush to Bowser Jr, Sending Peach back in time or even creating a new timeline to test Gooigi.
idk why all these theories are suddenly in my recommended, but honestly, I agree full heartedly. Especially in LM3 where he has to beg Gooigi to walk towards him with a water puddle in front of him. *And he laughs when Gooigi dies because yknow, he’s WEAK TO WATER*
Your theory about E. Gadd putting the jewel on King Boo’s head to control him every time is disproven since in Dark Moon it is stated and even SHOWN in a cutscene that King Boo broke the Dark Moon apart and wears one piece of it on his crown
i found something maybe e egaga did not releas king boo in Luigi's mansion 3 cause i leaned from a specific text the owner release king boo and also if e glad haves the crown in what resin is he in a panting so the owner gave king boo his crown back
You forget that prior to Luigi's Mansion, E. Gadd never captured King Boo. He had just captured Boolossus when King Boo came to free him and, in retaliation, freed all the other Portrait Ghosts, who then proceeded to create the mansion (you seem to forget that the mansion is one giant illusion). You're also assuming the Boos were captured in the cellar. However, they only state Luigi freed them, and E. Gadd only says he let them get away. The whole thing was actually a trap for Luigi. Also, Luigi had sent Mario to the mansion first to check it out (he wasn't completely fooled by the idea of winning a contest he never entered) figuring his brother could easily handle whatever trap was there. When Mario never returned, Luigi got worried and checked it out himself.
For the luigis mansion section of the video, egadd said that the mansion appeared a few days ago for him, I doubt he sent Luigi the letter. King boo definitely did. I think egadd saw MARIO go in since he says a man in a red cap went to the mansion without even stopping by. He probably went in to find MARIO and was ambushed by ghosts.
OMG I just finished watching this and I got a notification on a Discord server from someone called Professor Elvin Gadd! I am not kidding! He is onto me!
What would be interesting is if E. Gadd is gonna turn himself into a ghost that becomes the final boss of a Luigi's Mansion game. He could have an army of paint monsters(Super Mario Sunshine), slime monsters(Gooigi from Luigi's Mansion 3), robots, ghosts, and Boos.
The 50 Boos and the King Boo weren't trapped the were hiding. And E. Gadd captured the other ghost when he was young. Also, in Luigi's Mansion 2 (Dark Moon), E. Gadd wouldn't free King Boo because he wants to study the ghosts while they are nice. As for the gem in King Boo's Crown, is a different one from Luigi's Mansion's and more powerful, what we can easily realise because that one was red and this new one is purple. In Luigi's Mansion 3, E. Gadd was trapped in a portrait as well. It was Hellen Gravely who freed King Boo this time. As for the story of him selling King Boo's painting, I totally believe him, He probably just wanted money so he can move to Ever Shade Valley and study ghosts.
10:07 while you were talking about gooigi E gadd says "that you have to capture all of the ghosts again even king boo! He's my favorite." That is suspicious don't you think?
I find funny how pissed he is in LM3 that they stole his favorite painting which was King Boo itself lol. E.Gadd is old, he even stated it himself that he no longer able to catch ghost as he used to be. It does seems, he would sell his stuff for money without considering consequences so long he can continue investing in more research.
well my theory is that E. Gadd is working with th ghosts to take over the mushroom kingdom and is puting the brothers through tests to see how much they can take peice by peice untill untill they can no longer win or something along the lines of that.
Negligent isn't the same as evil. Also, he wanted to get out of the hotel because he probably thought Luigi was there to save him, and not that Mario and the others were captured.
LM3 basically debunks this theory entirely, SPOILERS E Gadd is captured by King Boo at the very beginning of the game, Luigi's frees him later on Before the King Boo boss fight he captures him again After king boo is defeated and the hotel gets destroyed he helps the ghosts rebuilt the hotel to be some sort of ghost hotel/ghost research building He just wants to study ghosts thats all
E.Gadd may not be evil, but he is a terrible boss. He literally forgot he had two assistants in one of the mansions and then his first worry when they got back was that he'd actually have to give them their paychecks
This theory is great but, when the ghosts pop out of the cellar when luigi open's it the ghosts say, SCRAM . it seems they were afraid of the polter gust but the ghosts just fight luigi.. You know what bassiclly i think the ghosts were pranking luigi!!!!!!!!
while i don't think that he is good, i don't think he is evil ether. i think he is just a guy who just loves his job so much that he doesn't care if what he is actually doing is for good or bad.
3:03 so? Who in the freaking world would have a dark light? That’s the only thing that’ll let them free. Plus, it’s probably all just game design. Who cares? All though these are my thoughts, it’s fun to theorize and you proved some good points.
But how did he get in the painting himself at the beginning of the game. Also didn’t king boo then put him in a painting at the end of the game? Please try your best to answer this comment
I don't think he is evil. In the end of Luigi's Mansion 3, Prof. E Gadd has been placed in a huge painting with Mario, Peach, and three Toads. The one who did this was King Boo.

He's a chaotic evil being from the 5th dimension
The thing about the whole "E. Gadd intentionally gave bowser Jr the paintbrush" the thing is, its never stated WHEN he god the shadow disquise, so for all we know, he could have worn the mask trying to cause havok with the mask. Then E gadd gave it to him as defense after the king boo situation. But soon later finds out that the person he gave the brush to was bowser junior, then he dropped off fludd for mario. But who know i could just be crazy.
Crazy conspiracy theory for you:
The talking portraits in the second room you ever entire in luigi's mansion 1 after you collect the poltergust, yeah those portraits.
And the reward for most original Nintendo theory goes too....
Literally anyone else.
Luigi’s mansion 3 is just an improve version of Mario hotel
After you beat Mario hotel, everyone abandoned it for many years until E. Gadd found it in ruins with a small population of ghosts roaming it
So wait E. Gadd decided to do is hire the mansion owner and improve the mansion so it doesn’t look similar in many ways
Then E. Gadd released all of the ghosts for Luigi to suck them up so he could study how to improve the poltergeist for Luigi and his next adventure
Am I the one na forget it Paper Mario colour splash ghost hotel and luigis ghost hotel
But there are 7 koopa hotels
Oof
Must have not been up to date with luigi’s mansion because it has been like 5 years
First, E. Gadd was in that area of Luigi's Mansion and said that the Mansion appeared a few days ago and I would go exploring in a creepy mansion that just appeared a few days ago. The portrait ghosts are his that got out of their portraits.
I have a feeling that the moment that E Gadd trapped Luigi in the cage in Luigi’s mansion 3 was foreshadowing something that might come up in the future
Besides, I think the whole reason that King Boo has beef with him and Luigi is because, well, E Gadd literally barged into an abandoned mansion and started sucking up innocent ghosts who were probably just try to live their afterlife in peace
"why is e. gadd in luigis mansion?" do you not understand the plot? The mansion appeared behind his lab, luigi doesnt have ownership nor would e. gadd know luigi was invited as he did not send the letter
Been waiting for this theory
I love your opening. It’s a bop.
In Partners in Time E Gadd said he is going to move to Boo Woods to research ghost. Boo Woods is where Liugi's Mansion is.
Nin10doland: Makes this video.
MatPat:
WHEEZE
Great video man
I love your intro! it is amazing!!!
That's just a theory, a *GaAAAAAAAAAAAAme* theory
What I find strange is that they recently added King Boo to Mario Kart Tour but there's the normal one that we normally see and then as the rare character, they have a King Boo labeled (Luigi's Mansion) on it. It's almost as if they're treating these two King Boos as separate entities, and it makes sense since Mario Sunshine also had a version of King Boo (although it just looked brain dead)
Nah tuor doesnt make sens
That make Mario whit diffets chotes diffetsr charater
Ah finally! I’ve been waiting for this! Gg
Wait... so E Gadd's Magic Brush colors things with Goo? Do you know what other invention was made from Goo? GOOIGI!
Do you so notice how paint from Paper Mario's world works the same way as goop! It's obvious paint brings the paper to life so the goop brought what was a simple book to life!
A wise cracking old man who makes mistakes is what i think of him because he said he was only kidding about trapping Luigi.
That's exactly what he is. The proof is there giving bowser jr the paintbrush was a mistake. Giving mario the fludd was his way to resolve it. He give a Luigi everything he needs to capture the ghosts. he had caught them in his youth but was now too old for it they were released by the boos
Dude, Luigi stole a vacuum/engine from his car,
The Mansion in the beta was supposedly E.
I think that e gadd is like good but what makes him weird is HOW DOES HE MAKES ALL OF HIS LAB
Elvin Gadd is clearly not a villian but a scientist, he does crazy things for research like giving the paintbrush to Bowser Jr, Sending Peach back in time or even creating a new timeline to test Gooigi.
bro this is literally alphys
Never forget that E.gadd sold King Boo's soul for 62 cents.
Loved your intro
Maybe the jewel from king boo’s crown might be able to evolve and be it’s own powerhouse nightmare...
idk why all these theories are suddenly in my recommended, but honestly, I agree full heartedly. Especially in LM3 where he has to beg Gooigi to walk towards him with a water puddle in front of him.
*And he laughs when Gooigi dies because yknow, he’s WEAK TO WATER*
If there were a luigi’s mansion 4 it could be cool that Prof Egadd be the bad guy this time
Your theory about E. Gadd putting the jewel on King Boo’s head to control him every time is disproven since in Dark Moon it is stated and even SHOWN in a cutscene that King Boo broke the Dark Moon apart and wears one piece of it on his crown
That's where the SMG4 when E. Gadd created/summoned the Beeg one.
Now I am starting to think if E. gadd is the real enemy
OH YAEH BABY DA MUSIC IN DA BEGINNING
i found something maybe e egaga did not releas king boo in Luigi's mansion 3 cause i leaned from a specific text the owner release king boo and also if e glad haves the crown in what resin is he in a panting so the owner gave king boo his crown back
You forget that prior to Luigi's Mansion, E.
E gadd more like Evil
Nintendo wants to know your location
For the luigis mansion section of the video, egadd said that the mansion appeared a few days ago for him, I doubt he sent Luigi the letter. King boo definitely did. I think egadd saw MARIO go in since he says a man in a red cap went to the mansion without even stopping by. He probably went in to find MARIO and was ambushed by ghosts.
I love the intro to your videos
Sick intro
OMG I just finished watching this and I got a notification on a Discord server from someone called Professor Elvin Gadd! I am not kidding! He is onto me!
King boo toad Bowser bells next plan❤ destroy the dark Moon and capture Mario and his friends 1:19
The ‘E’ in Professor E. Gadd’s name stands for Elvin (Aka his first name). But if you rearrange the letters and get rid of the ‘n’, it’ll spell ‘Evil’
Ly and you're theories cause they are the best!!💖💖
Game theory made this theory first so...YEP
Can’t wait to play Luigi’s Mansion 3 tomorrow. So hyped!!!
He’s in it for the money
I’m saying this now King Boo is actually a good guy and people use and control him for evil intentions
E.Gad: OOPS I DID IT AGAIN
+ In a mario party game there is some items created by E. Gadd and those items are just for Wario and Waluigi!!!
He's not evil at all. He's just a scientist who makes mistakes sometimes.
E Gadd does look like a mad scientist
Honestly think he could be. Dude sent a toad out in a hotel he KNEW was haunted, AND WANTED EVERYONE CATURED.
Negligent isn't the same as evil. Also, he wanted to get out of the hotel because he probably thought Luigi was there to save him, and not that Mario and the others were captured.
LM3 basically debunks this theory entirely, SPOILERS
E Gadd is captured by King Boo at the very beginning of the game, Luigi's frees him later on
Before the King Boo boss fight he captures him again
After king boo is defeated and the hotel gets destroyed he helps the ghosts rebuilt the hotel to be some sort of ghost hotel/ghost research building
He just wants to study ghosts thats all
But in Luigi's Mansion 3 E Gadd gets an invitation also.
He just wants to test his inventions and sell them to either capture ghosts for him or maybe something else.
You are the new Game Theory
It does make sense because what if it was the other ghost cause in the second Luigi mansion you can see that the ghost were nice
You know what bassiclly i think the ghosts were pranking luigi!!!!!!!!
at 6:06 me when school me:go in a painting
while i don't think that he is good, i don't think he is evil ether. i think he is just a guy who just loves his job so much that he doesn't care if what he is actually doing is for good or bad.
3:03 so? Who in the freaking world would have a dark light? That’s the only thing that’ll let them free. Plus, it’s probably all just game design. Who cares? All though these are my thoughts, it’s fun to theorize and you proved some good points.
Game theory all ready did a video on this
E gadd’s favorite ghost was king boo but king boo became evil and he’s aloud at the mansion
coming from someone who has been a huge Luigi's Mansion fan for about 15 years... no lol
The way egad walks 😂😂😂😂
7:45 xD egadd making naruto run
Yoshi yosh, Yoshi!
(E.Gadd turns in to Dr Gero? Sign me in!)
But how did he get in the painting himself at the beginning of the game. Also didn’t king boo then put him in a painting at the end of the game? Please try your best to answer this comment
Sorry, I’m talking about luigis mansion 3
I don't think he is evil. In the end of Luigi's Mansion 3, Prof. E Gadd has been placed in a huge painting with Mario, Peach, and three Toads. The one who did this was King Boo.
I think you should expand on that Fawful theory. I find it the most compelling and interesting part of the video.
