As a 2021 Audi S5 owner… your channel is my absolute favorite to watch anything audi related when it comes to repair. Thanks to you I know what my engine looks like fully disassembled and what the common issues are with the 3.0L Turbo TFSI motors and when they occur commonly… even though these jobs are not cheap and these engines are not cheap to fix, I can’t help but find these engines beautiful. Something about ICE engines in general… they’re like artwork. Poetry in Motion, if you will. Thank you for posting videos for us!!!

That should be the new Audi commercial intro from 7:21 to 7:46 with the inspiring background music, ja ja!
If it had enough oil, no starvation, could be the owner did not let the engine warm up, and rev it hard the car still cold.
My friend's M4 has a governor when the vehicle is cold, will not let the engine build boost until fully warm to temp.
On a side note, and somewhat irrelevant, man if this guy was a college professor, I would fall asleep on the first five minutes.

The older Audi's may not have had all the bells and whistles like these new ones in terms of electronics, but the engines didnt fail at 60k like many of these new ones. I dont believe its completely the fault of drivers and lack of proper maintenance. You have 1.8's, 2.8's, 2.7's with 200K+ miles, still on the road, original engine. Plenty of fast Audi's floor it, full throttle after a speed hump... brake hard for next... floor it again. See the same everywhere in the UK as I drive alot, to the point it's strange to see a fast german car being driven well. No wonder these engines are falling apart and one of the reasons I wouldn't buy it... the abuse most get is not worth it.

Audi doesn't leave a lot of margin in their high-performance engines. So it doesn't take much to make them blow. I always tell owners of Audi RS and BMW M cars to leave well enough alone and just do suspension or tire mods. These models are collectable and it makes no sense to monkey with the engines and destroy the car's value. Obviously VAG Technic has a profitable business taking care of the carnage.

Look for an 05/06 as they have revisions compared to the older ones. Look for one that has no engine mods and has been serviced in time. They are usually around 90 to 100K miles but these M113K engines are known to go 300K miles if serviced on time. The engine and transmission combo are the best in terms if reliability that any german maker has done for a high spec car. The E55 is cheaper and has way less gimmicky features to break than S55 and is less of a boat.

People who have the car capable of 0-60 mph in circa 6 seconds for 24 months and never intend to keep it are not going to drive it sympathetically. It's the subsequent owner ho is going to pick up the big repair bills a few years down the line.

Why is Audi service so expensive? Because step one is always: Drop entire engine and transmission from disassembled car.

I can’t believe that these cars shit themselves at such low mileage for all the money they cost, what piss poor RND they must do, over complicated boat anchors these engines are.

I think people should research the engine of the car before buying it
Audi doesnt make a really good engine..and im finding with maserati and ferrari..these engines are sensitive to oil changes and service..if you push the interval good luck

Over priced, over engineered crap. designed to fail early. If I was you guys, I would have a 10k minimum for chain, removal and check out.

In his 5 year existence on UA-cam, there is like couple of dozens failed engines. Most of them were tuned or badly maintained.
Now do research and tell me how many high-performance Audis are sold in UK in last decade?
