You guys should be very proud of yourselves. You've created a business people travel far and wide to use and a UA-cam channel that goes from strength to strength....it's nice to see hard work pay off.
Yep good job guys. I managed to fix the neutral great switch thing on my Passat with alieexpress part...the tools cost me much more than the part😮
As a 2021 Audi S5 owner… your channel is my absolute favorite to watch anything audi related when it comes to repair. Thanks to you I know what my engine looks like fully disassembled and what the common issues are with the 3.0L Turbo TFSI motors and when they occur commonly… even though these jobs are not cheap and these engines are not cheap to fix, I can’t help but find these engines beautiful. Something about ICE engines in general… they’re like artwork. Poetry in Motion, if you will. Thank you for posting videos for us!!!
excellent video just to let you know the sound recording ended at 24.57 keep up the good work
I drive a B9 S4 and while i enjoy your content, it also terrifies me!
No wonder.
Love your video quality and the professionalism of you guys. Great technical assessment here. That is a mother of a supercharger pulley on that crank. You have a fantastic job spending each day rebuilding these complex engines. You come across as honest and trustworthy, I would happily trust you with my car. Great channel, thank you.
Thanks for the comprehensive detail on what to look out for with these vehicles. Sadly the audio vanished from about 24:55
One of the best channels on UA-cam! I have learned a lot watching your work on these cars, and think that following is confirmed: if you couldn't afford to buy cars like this new, stay away😅
I could watch your work every day, but damn do our beloved Audis love to destroy themselves!
As we start approaching the import law lift on B5 RS4s here in The States, I bet you’d get some traction on any B5 content 😍 I’d love to watch. I’ve loved all the C5 content!
Being an Audi B6 4.2 V8 owner , I find this in-depth knowledge your sharing fascinating viewing. Keep up the fantastic work/videos🫶👍
watching this because my b6 4.2 v8 timing chain went😢
I have 2001 B5 S4 Avant with stage 2. Always change oil at 5K or less with liquid Molly. Lucky my mechanic is a Master with B5. I do the little maintenance and oil changes. These high performance cars needs lots of attention.
just goes to show if you buy one of these you need to look after them properly and serviced otherwise you need deep pockets good work guys👍👍
That should be the new Audi commercial intro from 7:21 to 7:46 with the inspiring background music, ja ja!
If it had enough oil, no starvation, could be the owner did not let the engine warm up, and rev it hard the car still cold.
My friend's M4 has a governor when the vehicle is cold, will not let the engine build boost until fully warm to temp.
On a side note, and somewhat irrelevant, man if this guy was a college professor, I would fall asleep on the first five minutes.
Will admit I have taken the best naps playing one of his videos while listening to his voice.
Hi,I have audi a7 c7 3.0 tfsi over 7 years now,I ran stage 2+ 034 motorsport with proper cooling,ported blower plus Few more modification,500 + hp never had any problems,but I changing oil every 4k 0w40
Car running strong, best engine I ever had,but u have to Maintain properly!
Thanks for another amazing video.
You can maintain these even more than what you are doing and they will still fail. There are documented flaws in the design that cause engine failure even after religious maintenance… ask me how I know. I guess I learned how to rebuild an engine in my garage with the experience… but it was a very expensive lesson.
@Tdfries so far 7 years and never let me down,u must have bad experience with poor Maintains engine's.
@@supercharger_a7472 nope, always serviced before the interval at major Audi dealerships. See, the problem with you is you think they are reliable because you have gotten lucky with yours.
@@Tdfriesthe same could be said of you, though. You think they are all unreliable just because your one wasn't.
@@cal3286 negative, the flaws are well documented and well maintained cars with low mileage have engine failures often on specific Audi engines.
I love watching your channel.... unbelievable knowledge.... but damn I do not want performance audi EVER 😅
I wish I had a knackered Audi just to be able to get it to you guys.
Love watching this channel and these guys are real experts
But am shocked how weak audi engines are😮
The sticking plaster lol genius....
Great place, great guys with a world of experience and knowledge.Great video.
Any RS or S = Abuse and lack of servicing and running them on a budget just because.
Hehehh nice touch with Bandaid
what happened with this? Any further news? Further updates? would love to know what happened next with this...awesome content, as always, informative and always keeping it real. That's why I trust you with my car
Great video as usual, unfortunately, your audio cut at 24:56. I wanted to hear the rest of it! :)
I think the Audio dropped out at the end there. Always interesting vids, thanks for sharing.
I know next to nothing about cars apart from basic servicing but I find your videos compelling. I was just wondering where you guys gained all your knowledge regarding Audi engines?👏👏👏
24:55 sound gone..... till end of the video. 😭
More air without a tune means knock, pre ignition slamming the piston, and rods straight down. Where? Directly down into the bed plate, cracking it. Expensive lesson for someone who should’ve known better than to do a pull on an untuned engine.
Nice one again, a lot of video lately, you guys are busy 😮
Guys, cool videos!
You are amazing!)
13:49 Well there’s the problem…. !
Some twats welded the block with a plaster 😂
Would like to see more of the green B5 Avant that appeared in the background
The older Audi's may not have had all the bells and whistles like these new ones in terms of electronics, but the engines didnt fail at 60k like many of these new ones. I dont believe its completely the fault of drivers and lack of proper maintenance. You have 1.8's, 2.8's, 2.7's with 200K+ miles, still on the road, original engine. I wanted to buy a b9 s4 but now am afraid.
Don't forget 1.9TDI 😅
I have a 2.0T with 316k on the clock. Still going
Most people buy a fast german car to "flex". I live in a residential street with speed humps. Plenty of fast Audi's floor it, full throttle after a speed hump... brake hard for next... floor it again. See the same everywhere in the UK as I drive alot, to the point it's strange to see a fast german car being driven well. No wonder these engines are falling apart and one of the reasons I wouldn't buy it... the abuse most get is not worth it.
modern cars a built to tight tolerances which unfortunately leaves a lot of room for problems unlike older engines that were engineered with high tolerance to withstand abuse.
Audi made their name long ago and people still think it's the same good quality, which it's clearly not. Wonder when people will wake up and stop buying VW shit
Only way I would ever buy and Audi is if u guys were local to me. 😂
And you had bucket loads of money. Audi parts are not cheap.
In fact the lads would have to come with the car..!!
Big chungus gearbox on the RS5!
How do you diagnose play of the valves ?
I need a tune up on my audi.
Time to pull the engine 😆
Good job Audi owners love their cars and are prepared to spend........what choice do they have with the balance of money still tied up in them. Look at the fun and luxury they enjoy when they are running though.
Not for the faint hearted!
Surely increasing the supercharger output without modifying the fuel map would make it run lean and therefore hot?
So it ran for 30 minutes after the upgrade and then seized??
The quality of parts have declined dramatically over the years. I have a B5 passat that I have yet to change the front & rear bearings, alternator, water pump x1. B6 A4 Avant 1.8t and changed the front bearings @ 210,000. Both engines running strong. I changed out the cabin filter of my C5 RS6 when purchased and the obvious quality so far exceeded the new one that I was shocked. I don't know if I would be interested in the new Audis after seeing the quality of the timing guides on the RS3.
OE parts, huh?
Great videos brother love the new allroad i have question can be done upper tensioner wothout removing cats and how many hours labor will take per book
Supercharger and crank pulley upgrades to increase boost and no tune? And they didn't expect failure on the first pull because why?
If you own an Audi. Keep a spare engine in the boot.
Sticking plaster. LOL.
Yeah, that should make it better.
sound just went after 24 mins - what happened there? great content as always, looking fwd to the forged engine build, if the owner decides to do it; if cash permitting, and not needing to sell any organs o the black market, then this rebuild should be done....
It’s worrying the amount of destroyed R/S engines you work on and none have silly miles either.
At how many kilometers should the timing chain be changed?
No sound at 24:56 until the end of the video 😢
Those guys make it clear, never buy an AUDI unless you have unlimited deep pockets. Guess the same for the other German cars
wrong ... never buy any car unless you read the service manual
Every time I think about buying a 450 hp RS5, I watch a video like this to snap out of it. These d#mn cars are scary.
I have a saying about owning BMW's (I have 2 diesel X5's) that would apply to these Audi's, only own one if you are either very rich, or you can repair them yourself. (I am in the second category unfortunately).
speaking of warranty? my 05 S4 cabriolet only has 100800 miles on it. where can I get warranty? I tried my local Audi dealer and they rejected me because of age of my vehicle. any help will be greatly appreciated. thank you
I can only laugh 😂😂😂😂 but yet I cry 😭 😩🤓😆😭😂
Recently bought a b8.5 s4, completely stock - do you recommend tuning it? I do want more power but worried if these are reliable enough to do so or not.
I wouldn’t …
The Audio cut out at the last minute, right before you were going to drop that nugget of wisdom on purchasing high performance vehicles over 10k miles!
Audi doesn't leave a lot of margin in their high-performance engines. So it doesn't take much to make them blow. I always tell owners of Audi RS and BMW M cars to leave well enough alone and just do suspension or tire mods. These models are collectable and it makes no sense to monkey with the engines and destroy the car's value. Obviously VAG Technic has a profitable business taking care of the carnage.
Exactly. They're already high performance, highly strung; do you really need any more power? UK roads are too small anyway 😂
Not quite the case. The DAZA and DNWA can easily handle 200hp+ power increase on the stock engine with no issues.
Just get a e.v ...done...no greef
@@Mac_F87haha no they can’t Audi and BMW make garbage engines that explode if you sneeze
@@michaelcoachtechvp2846 hahahahha yes they can. Please don’t comment if you are clueless. Even the CZGB could handle around 500hp on stock block, pistons and rods.
Why is only one head wet with the oil?
These Audis can actually be very reliable, if you use them sparingly.
Audio cut out for that last minute 😂
could you just occasionally show an RS6 with 150k miles and no issues ,,, I really fancy one and every time I get to thinking about buying one , up pops one of your 10k engine repair videos ,,, lol .
dont even bother ... UK at that milage is a project car
@@VAGTechnic yep , I realized that as soon as I watched your videos , they really are great , well filmed and full of very very useful information. many thanks.
Get an E55 AMG (05 or 06). Don’t mod the engine and you will have a reliable and fun 500hp sedan (or wagon). On paper they are 469hp but the are actually 500hp… the didnt want the car to make more power than the S55 on paper but the engines and tunes are literally identical.
I always preferred Audi cars to Mercedes but I did research after many issues with Audis including an engine failure. The W211 E55 AMG is bulletproof, cheap, and a future collectable. I have one now and it’s absolutely amazing.
Look for an 05/06 as they have revisions compared to the older ones. Look for one that has no engine mods and has been serviced in time. They are usually around 90 to 100K miles but these M113K engines are known to go 300K miles if serviced on time. The engine and transmission combo are the best in terms if reliability that any german maker has done for a high spec car. The E55 is cheaper and has way less gimmicky features to break than S55 and is less of a boat.
What are your honest thoughts on going to a stage 1 tune only (ecu remap only) on the S4 B8 in relation to reliability.
I had stage 1 on my b8.5 for about 5 years before I went single pulley. The only thing I would do differently is get a charge cooler first (even stock), then remap.
Too much boost, over cylinder filling from fuel, as you say hydro lock?
I feel bad when I see bill.
Wonder why they didn't take it back to the previous engine tuners, probably fell out with them?!
Do tuners offer a warranty?
Very brave if they do !
There was no tune 😓 and tunes and warranty don’t go hand to hand 😂
The tune and was set up properly for the new setup. You know rs drivers hammer the gas...
was that £3xxx for a timing chain service?
Will you tune your C7 allroad ?
Hahaha the plaster 😂
Would a failing catalytic converter throw a code? Or would it sound odd? or how would you know?
It operates by a code if you dont abide by the code the engine will die by the fucking code
Instead of tuning an engine that is already in a fairly high state of tune, just buy a faster car..👍
Spot on. I bet they don’t tell their insurance companies that their standard car now has 400hp.
This definitely puts me off buying any Audi. Think the problems seem to arise from too many owners fiddling about with the engines without realising the consequences.
the bandaid
Hello! Can you please advise where to purchase RS5 4.2 high flo cats from? I sent an email 2 months ago and never received a response from you guys :)
You can order it from us
Im currently looking at a 2017 s4 avant....you guys aren't selling it to me haha!
🤷♂️ Just finished one directly from dealer … video soon
Is that annoying recurring beep in the background a smoke detector with low battery? 😮
you are awesome, but it makes me shit myself having a 2011 rs5 with 65,000klms and a 2015 sq5 diesel with 160,000 on it just waiting for something to go wrong
Great vid guys and I commend you for creating a well paying living for yourselves by continually fixing this German rubbish.. Maybe when you retire you can buy a decent Japanese car.. They don't break down.. 2JZ.. 4AG.. RB26.. : )
CGW from Japan , happy
@@VAGTechnicI laughed at this comment. Good one. I hope it brings you many happy miles!
lost sound at 25 m or was just me ?
This dummy upgrade his pulleys with no tune .... lol
Great work as always.
However, I can never understand why these cars are bought. They're certainly not premium, just a VAG product and the massive cost for repair with the engine / gearbox needing removal for even mundane jobs increases costs massively.
Very over rated cars..
Considering these cars are newish and cost tens of thousands its shocking the amount of engines that fail, is Audi liable for knowing parts are faulty or some models especially the sport versions need recalls.
The popularity of PCP deals puts me off buying any high performance car (or any car for that matter) even one advertised as an "Approved Used" by franchised dealers. People who have the car capable of 0-60 mph in circa 6 seconds for 24 months and never intend to keep it are not going to drive it sympathetically. It's the subsequent owner ho is going to pick up the big repair bills a few years down the line.
B.jour mes ami esque quelqu un peut me aidee une moteur audi s4b8 v6 3.L tfsi 2010 atomatic berlin change standard ou un etres moteur merci
Hello
Hi mate you should by a mic, sometimes its really hard to hear you
I payed an audi mechanic to time my b6 s4 and my engine snapped the chains and broke guides
That is an expensive bandaid
So dont try to make a bigger perfromance engine out of a standard designed machine. You take a risk
Straszne zniszczenia! To już lepiej golfa 8R 2.0TSI lekko dłubnąć i chyba moce podobne…
Direct injection worse ever invention
But, tell me more about the beard ...
Why is Audi service so expensive? Because step one is always: Drop entire engine and transmission from disassembled car.
I can’t believe that these cars shit themselves at such low mileage for all the money they cost, what piss poor RND they must do, over complicated boat anchors these engines are.
I think people should research the engine of the car before buying it
Audi doesnt make a really good engine..and im finding with maserati and ferrari..these engines are sensitive to oil changes and service..if you push the interval good luck
I think it's the stupidest thing to do put some hardware and not tune the ECU. You cannot do that ! Proof is dine here. Don't understand people ....
Over priced, over engineered crap. designed to fail early. If I was you guys, I would have a 10k minimum for chain, removal and check out.
Absolutely shocking how these Audi engines are so weak ,
Thats way i have bmw 😢 audi used to be good cars now its disaster 😢
Happy owner 👎
Money pit lol
F****kn HELL! FIX Your SOUND guys. I LOVE your videos but this has happened a number of times where I am so into every word spilling from your lips and then the %#^*! SOUND cuts out. GET ANOTHER MICROPHONE.
Lets say Hello to premier pro 🫶
How bad are Audi engines if you can open a garage and a youtube channel just fixing them? lol
In his 5 year existence on UA-cam, there is like couple of dozens failed engines. Most of them were tuned or badly maintained.
Now do research and tell me how many high-performance Audis are sold in UK in last decade?
Tomany cheap Chinese parts that's the problem stick to older audis
GREAT VIDEO NEVER BUY A AUDI P O S
STOP BUYING AUDI!!!
Why ?
