Following the commercial failure of ‘Astral Weeks,’ Van Morrison and his wife moved to upstate New York, close to Woodstock, and close to Bob Dylan’s home, an artist he greatly admired. According to Morrison’s wife, "Van fully intended to become Dylan's best friend", she recalled. "Every time we'd drive past Dylan's house ... Van would just stare wistfully out the window at the gravel road leading to Dylan's place. He thought Dylan was the only contemporary worthy of his attention." Sadly for Van, though, Dylan moved out of town just before he arrived.

Not sure Bob had ever heard this song before. And Van had forgotten it.
Sums it up. Anything else is fantasy.
Agree..Dylan was feeling his way..and Van M. was dredging it up .Great voice, VM..and Dylans behind his is memorable..but feel that it was a bit 'staged'...Probably needed a few beers to get the best out of the situation .
Dylan has certainly heard this song before, he’s pretty well listened, this song was from a major hit, and Van was a contemporary
Love this amazing video!
Two giants right here that obviously should have recorded together alot more! But life probably got in their way,and I guess we are lucky anything at all happens with these guys. Getting your own band together is a challenge, never mind two people with different schedules going on,just sayin!
