- This film was produced by the BBC's flagship Arena arts documentary series.
It includes some of Van's thoughts on his music plus duets with Bob Dylan and John Lee Hooker.
He also joins forces with a number of other musicians helping to show the range of his material.
This Swedish TV version includes three songs with the Danish Radio Big Band not in the BBC film:
I'd Love to Write Another Song, Haunts of Ancient Peace and Whenever God Shines His Light.

Discovered George Ivan Morrison in the college canteen in 1975 (Caravan was being played very loudly) and have been a fan since then. Never once seen him smiling until this. Lovely.

I heard a while back that Martin Scorsese is very interested in making a documentary on Van. This one is about all we have so far about someone who I consider the greatest musician and songwriter of the last century. Would love to see what Scorsese can do.
That would a great movie!
We need a full blown van documentary and Scorse would be perfect.
