All those years ago. Recalling those days of summer of young adulthood with Van and Dylan in my 5 disc revolving CD player. They were all that mattered outside of God
It's hard for me not to believe that "Foreign Window" is more about Dylan than Van Morrison lets on in the commentary, given how much the words fit Dylan's life. Regardless, the fact that it fits Dylan so much, along with the intimacy in the midst of grandeur, makes this blurry video one of the most beautiful musical moments ever recorded.
With the Parthenon behind these two relentless troubadours we enter the palace of the lord. Van the Man and Bob on harmonica. Thru a foreign window where I have been Amen.
There is a reference of Lord Byron and it is mind blowing to me the fact that Lord Byron was walking where they were singing 200 years prior to them. Imagine that... I can see him passing by and looking at them.
Dylan has so much knowledge in that simple but captivating harmonica. I love bob and his albums but just feels so raw with Van the man just can't put my finger on it x
Oh my god...if the harmonica is in the right key you can blow anything and it works.....Dylan was no genius with the harp.....Try Stevie Wonder for that !!!
Raglan Road was a poem written by Patrick Kavanagh, in fact if you walk up to the canal at upper Baggot St, Dublin you'll see the monument of Kavanagh sitting there-he wrote it about a lost love whom he encountered many years before, it's a touching poem and was first sung by Luke Kelly, but I like Van's rendition.
Just transcendental in its combined beauty. Two masters of the song, no egos getting in the way of their delivery. Belfast cowboy, Bob Dylan, play on John Donne. 😊❤ This clip is such a joy from start to finish, like a Temple of the Soul. I wish that everyone could get to see it. 😂
Such special insight from Van... been a big hero to me since I was 10....62 now....Long time... Nevermind I have pure Irish blood... don't think that's why... My mate of 40 years is British....go figure... Good to see my other hero Bob not trying to run things for once . Love to all
Van the Man!! Bob the god! Folk, Soul and Rock and Roll by two giants who've seen it, lived it, both knocked on Satan's door and said to each other "fuck this, let's go and have one more cup of coffee with Sara, The Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands?" To which Bob said "as long as we can have a" van butt's in and says "for fucks sake don't say a Moondance or I'm turning around and knocking on heavens door!!" Brilliant to see these guys, its such a treat as stuff like this is so rare!!
Michael keaney I'll say, Bob is God's gift to humanity. He's got it all. But I'm a woman, I'm appreciating Bob's gorgeous, charismatic appearance. He makes me feel lust, be his woman. Yes I want him so baaad..Bob has that affect on women.. the Morrison guy not..Mr M. Is obviously inspired by Bob, put in a touch of Rimbaud, doesn't make him (M) in Bob's range. I can very well understand that men, likes Morrison, he isn't a treat to their women. I would follow Bob in a heartbeat, leave them all behind (family) But it's only Bob who has that magical impact...🌎🔥💙💥
I would like to see a new traveling Wilburys with Bob and Van and Jeff and Sir Paul and Paul Simon! Is that even possible for just one fantastic album? And dedicate it to Roy and George and Tom.
I once saw bob and van in the pheonix festival in statford upon avon one quote from van i only play 2nd best to bob i was young but it left an inpression lolxx
When you quote someone, it'd be helpful to use "quotes" around the quote, so we could know where the quote begins and ends. And, really luv, is it so painful to use caps and punctuation, so we can know also where the sentences begin and end? Ulysses was more pure shite for the lack of grammar and punctuation. Far more. Are we all sloppy, bloody little Joyces with our sloppy sms-ing?. No, we're not. Clean it up. Fly right. The ghost of SisterMary Cupcake is standing behind you with a ruler if yer don't, a gold star if yer does.
Van & Bob, Bob & van 2 of the most very important and brilliant storyteller, poets, wordsmith, adviser, profits, singers of all time, on Phil Lynott & Rory Gallagher and you will have the gang of 4 that nobody could argue against
Bobby works well with other artists: Joan Baez, Van Morrison, George Harrison, Johnny Cash, Patti Smith, Roger McGuinn, The Band, Tom Petty, The Grateful Dead, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, Bruce Springsteen, etc. and Bob befriended Frank Sinatra and visited with Frank at his home and attended Frank's funeral.
Distant view Parthenon and Lykebettos, washed out VHS quality of the video and good music sure brought back memories my 3 day stay in late 60's that lasted 4 weeks!!! Thanks for posting.
