Nice to see lower end and entry level TV's being reviewed as this is the price bracket that most people look at.
Anthony Davis 👍👍👍!,
the tv is mid range but the price is crazy 799 WTF ? For Chinese crap ? Samsung Q6FN is cheeper
@@martinturbo9015 XF9005 is £100 more...
@@MrHorrorwood Yes but this is Sony with full array local dimming cant compare at all. Idk what the chinese think with this pricing i buy yesterday LG B8 OLED for 1050 Euro :)
@@martinturbo9015 Yep that was my point. I'd also avoid OLED personally as I don't believe they get bright enough. My B6 also failed completely and LG were not interested. Bought a Q80R and I am more than happy.
Thank you for reviewing the lower end/midrange TV's.
I was curious what ULED meant now I know! Vincent is da man!
Thank you for this review, I was considering this in 65" but now.... you just saved my life.
You must be very stupid if you believe in this idiot!
@@ic3man669 why?
Luís Filipe he calibrates TVs as his job he knows what he is talking about.
I have this TV and absolutely loved it!!
Thank you for review. I hope you gonna review more budget tv’s. High End TV reviews are interesting to see, but honestly how many people can afford it.
Thanks for looking at a low end set, I own an older Hisense. It may not be the best TV in the world, but it was at a price I was happy to pay and came with a 6-year warranty as it was sold by John Lewes.
Reviewing a lower end TV has helped me appreciate some of the niceties of higher end TVs that I didn’t know about until now
On Amazon for €899 euro you can choose 3 x 65 inch TVs. TCL ep68, Hisense U8BE and LG Nanocell SM8500. Mostly I will watch movies but I will also play some games occasionally on it. What do you recommend please ??
Well done Vincent for uploading at 4k60 quality!
Thanks for the 'mini' review. If its an option keep this type of review coming so a fuller picture of what's available can be had as a comparison.
I'm glad that you have reviewed this TV, Vincent! 120 Hz, VA panel LCD televisions for a good price... I suppose a lot of people would need more of those, for decent, affordable home cinema experience.
This Hisense model at 65 inch size costs ~770 pounds atm in my country (Hungary), which is a really good price for the value. As my eyes are so sensitive to any judder, I've always found 120 Hz panel the most important, "key" factor for televisions used for watching movies.
It's so bad, that for nowadays all the "big brands" forgot the low and mid-range segment, and usually produce mainly bad quality, 60 Hz televisions "just to provide something to the people each year" for the market.
Thanks a ton for TCL and Hisense producing some decent products for people, who like movies, have some defined expectations for quality, but are not able to spend thousands of dollars/pounds for a premium TV.
And thank you, Vincent for reviewing these models! Please, keep this approach, and let us hear the most important aspects of other Hisense (and TCL) TVs... :)
Can you tell me does 120Hz work in 4k, in gaming mode? Im buying xbox series x so i need 4k 120Hz tv with hdmi 2.1.
@@XeradonYU , in that case this TV isn't the right one for you.
But all 2020 LG OLEDs, NANO9 series, NANO86 , and UN85, Samsung Q70T (55 inch and above), Q80T, Q90T and beyond, Philips 2020 OLEDs, PUS85, and 9xxx LCDs, also SONY ZH8 and XH9005 (both with the new, recent firmware update) support that function.
I bought it. Satisfied.
Any chance of posting some video calibration settings for the u8 Vincent?
I couldn't tell if you're just tired or uninspired for this video... Still really appreciate all of your content Vincent... 👍😎
Nicely done...short review with lots of information.
Hi, between this and Samsung ru8000 which one would you recommend? 👍
Please help me.should i biu this one ore the samsing 55" ru8000.which is the best one?help would be GREATLY appreciated.nice review my friend
Hi, I have the same TV and I was looking for the optimal picture settings, can you maybe help out? Im a bit of a noob
Hello!
I live in Romania and I recently bought a ULED Smart HISENSE H55U8B TV, Ultra HD 4K, HDR, 139 cm, and I discovered two problems with this TV.
1. One of the major problems encountered would be the automatic updating of the date and time. Once the ROMANIA location is selected, the TV clock is 1 hour ago. OK, I understand this is because of cable company RDS-RCS. But why can't you set the TV time manually?
In the TIME menu, we only activate the option for the 12 or 24 hour format. The other options are NOT active: Date / Time, Time Zone, Daylight Saving. If you select one of the inactive options, the message "This feature is currently unavailable!" Is displayed. Any other country (except Romania) chosen for LOCATION has all the activated options related to date / time, time zone, daylight saving. I scanned and stored the programs in memory according to Frequency, DIGI or UPC with the same result.
In order to comply with the phrase "Romanian is inventive", I chose the location RUSSIA (otherwise chosen Romanian language, etc.) and this only to match the time of Romania, this is very necessary for scheduling TV program recordings.
2. Another problem would be of a multimedia nature. When playing TV shows recorded on external HDD or stick memory devices, ONLY FAST ROLL (eg x16 speed) synchronization problems occur if I can call them that. Example: I scroll at x16 speed, select the STOP command, but the fast scroll continues for a few more seconds, far exceeding the desired stop point. Sometimes it only stops by confusing the commands with pause or playback. Playing media content, movie recorded from the computer, all commands work flawlessly. Problems with TV media only.
I mention that I did the system update on the day of purchase (13.06.2020) and it is currently:
- Software version: V0000.01.00a.K0117
- Extended version: K0117
The service told me to send him for rehearsals. For such a large TV, I don't feel like packing it and sending it on the road, who knows if it will be whole or not. I am convinced that it is a problem related to the TV software and not to a defective electronic component that requires the disassembly of the TV. The service should have a field team to find and communicate the anomaly to the manufacturer in order to fix it with a software update in this case. The TV is manufactured in February 2020.
But, those are minor problems. Every single tv on the market no metter of price has some sorts of bugs. I can't see that you have major problems . Remember you bought that tv to watch TV channels at the first place and you wan't from your tv to be jack of all trades and perfect in every single thing. I would enjoy in that tv with that kind of "major problems" if i were you.
How is the u7b compares to lg or Samsung tvs in the price point, does it beat the LG nancell tvs or is it equivalent
would you recommend it for pc gaming and usage?
Would love you the test Hisense
H65B7500 which most people would buy because of the great price
This vs Philips PUS7304?? Checking U7B and U8B vs Philips 7300-series. Cant decide or understand differences
So in your review of the Samsung 7400 you recommend checking out the Hisense U7B, but then you don't recommend the Hisense U8B, which is even better than the U7B.
How does this make any sense?
price point I think!
@@PeterCarmaicol they are about the same price, the U8B ist the successor to the U7B. Doesn't matter anymore though, I upped my budget and got a Sony TV.
Uled is such a misleading name. Just like Qled really.
Yep exactly and most of the people dont know the difference.
@@martinturbo9015 that's coz most people dont care.
How can I disable HDR on the u7a please? I don't like it, it works automatically
I am really considering this set however I have not been able to find a retailer that stocks this in store so I could view it. It would seem to be an online exclusive in most instances. I am looking at upgrading from an lg 55lw650t a 55" passive 3d set around 8 years old... I found this set to suffer very badly from white screen bleed from the edge lit display when viewing blacks. How bad would you say the bleed is on this panel?
So, I am currently rocking a Panasonic ST55 and am looking to upgrade to a decent 65'. Looking to spend up to £1500 at my local Richer Sounds branch. Normal lighting conditions, some Sony HDR gaming but mostly HD DTV viewing with films streamed from a hard drive plugged in the back. Give me a few pointers as to which TV I need to be looking at. Is it QLED or OLED!! Any input with regards this issue is welcomed!
from experience.....NOTHING can compare to OLED....NOTHING!!!!
@John Hooper I'll do you one better. NOTHING is better than full 240 line res black and white CRT. Everything else like you said is a gimmick like color, resolution, size, hdr.
Good for gaming?
Is the Hisense B8000 and U8B the same model???
No where it says what Panel used on U7B and if it's SVA or VA?
Also, anyway someone could say what Peak brightness this TV can produce on HDR10 Plus content?
Also, why in some counties U7B box says Ultra Local Dimming? Some variations has more than 16 zones?
Is this the equivalent or forerunner to the Australian Hisense Q8?
This is tv better then samsung ue65tu8500?
I had a Hisense M8000 and it wasn't the best experience to say the least....
Thats one of their first tvs their recently tvs are incredible...
I have a question! I had hisense h65u8b but the problem it this on Netflix mode this tv is u7a9,can you explain this..!!!!
My budget is between £600-£1000 for my next TV. What TVs would you suggest for me?
Josh Bawden Sony xf9005 is best on market currently.
can I put a hdr10 or Dolby Vision video source? Does Dolby Vision work with Apple Watch 4K connected with HDMI ?? the tv mounts hdmi2.0 or hdmi2.0a ??
how bad is the input lag? 50ms? thanks
I got 120hz at 1080p working with this TV on my Xbox series x. Is this a true 120hz at 1080 or is it just claiming 120 but displaying 60hz if anyone knows please answer
Hi, what tv should i buy with £600 budget? Black friday deals will kick in next week so im hoping to get a mid range tv for this price.
Have you considered checking out amazon.com?
They ship the Hisense H8F and H9F, along with TCL 6 series to the UK.
A 55inch H8F is $399.99, with shipping it costs just under £430, buy an NTSC to Pal converter and you've got a great FALD LCD with a peak brightness of 700 nits, a good number of dimming zones, Dolby Vision and 4 HDMI 2.0 ports.
I'm heavily considering getting one myself, as I begrudge getting any of these edge lit LCD TVs that the UK are getting fobbed off with, for such overblown prices.
I believe the TCL 2019 6 series, the R625 can be shipped to the UK for under £600.
Hisense and TCL need to get their FALD LCDs into the UK for a good price, they look so much better than what we're getting for far more expensive.
do you think Sony will be releasing any new Master series fald sets next year? Their current ones are not their best efforts. I have the first fald Sony Bravia made and it is long in the tooth now. I am hoping for their best effort with an updated version. By-the-way, I see zero blooming with sub titles on it.
Any chance to share the settings/calibrations for us, simple mortals?
Seconded! Vincent’s videos are great and really helpful but it’d be awesome if he could put his settings in the video description. I’ve got a U8 turning up next week, he could save me a few hours!
Did you manage to find decent settings? Mine arrived just today
@@Archior nop. Couldn't find any shared so I gave up. Just use it with default
Hello! Do you provide a chart with the best settings for this tv?
I was hoping to see the dual layer LCD :( Maybe next time.
How much is the 65 inch 4K smart screen
Hi Vincent. Great video. Im looking for a 55" for my countryhouse and it would be great if you could do a review of the TCL EP68. On paper it looks really good for the money.
Hello! :) Considering the Hisense U8B is not a recommendation for video enthusiasts (I'm not a gamer at all for example) - what TV would really be a recommendation, having a budget of maximum 800 pounds to spend? Each TV I think to purchase, I read minutes later: Ah, does not receive Android update, only the new version will have it (Sony XF90 vs Sony XG95 for example) the other TV has problems with color, the next one ... I have ordered the U8B now, but after your video I have canceled my order again :(... :D Thanks! :)
This is the situation in EU actually , with 1k € you can go with LG OLED B9 and end of the story if you are not an hardcore gamer (best choice at that price considering HDMI 2.1 ecc). If gaming is really important for you but you don't want to risk OLED burn in, a FALD panel is a good decent option, at 1k you can find some great deals on Ebay like Samsung 65"Q70R or 55Q85R, both great options. I still suggest to go with OLED if you are a casual gamers (just pay attention to don't play the same game for hours and hours)
Or just wait these year Hisense and Samsung models to drop. Hisense is selling two great budget killer tv like U7Q and U8Q in EU and UK with a full array panel.
This or Samsung RU8000?
Danilo Mastrostefano Magnavox 21 inch CRT 👍👌
@@user2144 :)
Also would like to know
Get a black and white CRT and plug it to your PS5..
if possible buy nu8000 its better than the new one
Is this the same at the Hisense R8 in Australia? Seems we get different tvs out here??
Nice review! Concise and accurate.
I would love if you started reviewing PC monitors, they are pretty much the only option for people who want high end smaller screens.
Yes. Great to do cheaper TV's. Though Trash TV's don't do Hisense image much good.
Might be a great bedroom TV tough?
Not really when xf9005 is currently £200 more (x900f in the US)
As always an in depth and enjoyable review from you Vincent. Have you ever considered an educational series explaining how to read the test patterns and their significance in the resulting picture quality. I can follow about 80 percent of the tech talk but would love to learn more.
currently in Greece this TV sells for 479. AMAZING bargain if u ask me.
Can you do a review on the Asus ROG Swift PG65U?... the line between monitor and tv is blurring.
@HDTVtest
Would you be able to assist me with video calibration settings for the HiSense 55B8000UW?
Thanks, this will be my next tv.
The picture is so sharp.
It does look good, but it needs Vinnie to make it look better
Why are they allowed to call this TV HDR certified if the HDR performance is so bad?
Available in u.s?
is there a TV without blooming
Only the OLED's, probably ..
This TV is 700€ in my country and a friend of mine said it's the best I can get for this money. What am I supposed to buy with 700€?
Look on amazon.com, they ship many of the FALD TVs from Hisense and TCL for that, including shipping cost.
A 55inch H8F is $399.99, shipping something like $151, in the UK that's around £430, can't be much more than €500, just get a power converter if needed for your country and you have a great FALD TV on a budget.
Bought it for 568 euros.. It looks cool but I need Vinnie to calibrate it :(
Is this 55B8000UW
Is Plex available to this TV ?
Yes Plex option is available on mine, not used it.
God job man, nice review
is this the equivalent h9f usa model?
ΑΘΑΝΑΣΙΟΣ ΚΥΡΙΑΖΗΣ no, the H9F is far superior. The U8B is the best we can get currently.
This or Sony XG9005?
Can you make for the new model u8qf please
The Nerdcape is back, wth Vincent.... thats looks really... :D
Best if you always recommend something for the same price
This company is odd... Last year they had a low end TV that was basically factory calibrated out of the box. They get some things better than the competition (build quality) and then others not. I feel like they're learning and will soon be matching the major brands. I find their UI ugly though. It was actually nicer a few years back.
Can you please review the Hisense Quantum Dot LED TV's?
You are reviewing an old Samsung TV?
Yo... pls make a video on what you think about the recent Digital Foundry video on high end PC gaming on a CRT...
Can anyone recommend the best 4k tv's for under £600 please.
What size?
@@channelschannel 50-55"
This one £500 NOW uk.
is it true highest end crt still had few advvantages over oled?
Nope, but apparently Plasma does. Some people still insist their Plasma TVs from eons ago still outshine pretty much everything right now. Apparently only some OLEDs come close or defeat Plasma TVs
@@yashwinning i think regarding speed or movement, crt win
@@banjirjir7519 oh yeah CRT monitors had insane response times and were capable of pretty insane refresh rates. But CRT monitors can't really be compared to OLEDs. A more appropriate comparison would be against gaming monitors, in which case CRT monitors still kind of win. There's a reason some competitive gamers still used decades old CRT monitors up until very recently.
For example some very basic CRT monitors were able to achieve over 300hz refresh rate with like 1ms response time, which is still unheard of right now.
@@yashwinning we re doin sport screen wrong then
@@banjirjir7519 what are you even talking about
ULED vs OLED both from Hisense
Tried a Hisense once, had glowing reviews on Amazon, giant killer they claimed. It was absolute garbage!
Always check fakespot.com - review fraud is rampant on Amazon.
@@Supperconductor thing is, most reviews were probably legit (being from people with the money for low range only) therefore being their first and only 4k. So for them it looks gorgeous.
For real! Had my eyes on Hisense for quite a few years as I always saw glowing reviews and always wanted a 65 inch tv. The price seemed really reasonable and was looking forward to buying it.
But after finally purchasing one I was left really disappointed.
Luckily I was able to return it so I spent double and bought a Sony tv instead. The difference is world's apart.
If you are on a tight budget and don't mind sacrificing quality, then the hisense is fine, but if you really want top quality, then you need to spend more and get sony, samsung or lg
First class review
does it have ANDROID?
No.
After watching all your videos about Hisense H9F I still haven't figured out if you recommend it or not
David Shryock We haven't reviewed the H9F... it's not available in the UK.
Uled and qled a fancy name for a normal lcd tv
6:46 important point. "color accuracy and HDR representation leaves much to be desired though so it is difficult to recommend this tv for video enthousiast even considering its affordable price."
Hdmi 2.0 turns me off....
Blooming is a deal breaker
Can you please review Hisense OLEDs please Vincent!!!
The LG B9 is cheaper, at least in the UK, the O8B is £1199, the B9 is £1099 for the 55inch of both models.
This TV is just a mockery when H9F costs the same and as i understood they will never release H9F in Europe or similar TV with similar price.
That's just it. Only God knows why they can't make it available globally
haha I like your humor
I feel the colours lack depth in this TV.
With TCL around there's no reason to even consider Hisense.
That depends. Hisense and TCL have great models in the USA from what I gather, but in the UK both have pretty poor offers.
Hisense is nonsense! But Vincent, is like to see your thoughts on TCL and Vizio's higher end TVs.
Vizio disappointing, TCL not out yet.
Unfortunately they are not in the UK. TCL in the UK have different models which are completely different, same for Hisense.
Nobody should buy Hisense... in Europe.. Because, in the US they sell the H9f in 65 inch for ONLY 900 dollar (I think without taxes),.. And that Tv has 130 dimming-zone Fald backlight.. It has Quantum dot.. Qled... And has much more nit-brightness.. !
@@peter3337 But this is NOT a FALD-tv. It's edge-lit with 16 only Vertical dimming-zones (2.40 minute). It's not a backlit.
Agree. Hisense just spits on European market. Hell with them.
It's not 10bit. 1000 nits HDR with FRC. Fail.
I enjoy his videos without even caring for tv's why??
Because Vincent is a pure blessing. Everyone needs some Vincent in their lives
Watching on my Samsung S10... i KNOW i shouldnt judge a TV by a video recording of one but the image just looks flat as a pancake compared to some of the sets Vin reviews
Agree with you.
If only we could get the H9F , this just seems like s lazy TV from Hisense 😡😡
Thanks Vinnie baby.
Aw, come on. I thought uled would mean nano LED.
I love you Vincent!!
Led tvs are all garbage name one without dirty screen effect//oled is still king
