  • This NYC Tiny-House is so good, it should be kept secret. Its got two floors, two baths and a ton of other cool features. Would you live in an apartment like this or the others shown in this video? All of them are in Manhattan on the West Side.

$5500 and no in unit laundry?? That's insane. I'm amazed that there are actually people who will pay $9500 a month to rent an apartment. I'd like to talk to them and ask...why??

Because we get to live in Manhattan and if you take full advantage of that then the rent is irrelevant. Do you think Cash would have a successful UA-cam channel like this living in Kansas? 😂
It’s not about the price. It’s about what you do with the lifestyle.

@@chefxhyrule242 that’s not true at all. I’ve grown multiple businesses solely because I live in Manhattan. The amount of networking and opportunity is not found anywhere else. This channel alone is a prime example of what is possible. Same with all Manhattan UA-cam vloggers. You cannot just pay this rent and do nothing else. Then I agree that it is a waste.

There's people on this channel that make fun on NYC price comparisons, because those people usually post from some boring state or out in the country, but this channel makes me so grateful for all I've got for what I'm paying- there's nothing in NYC that my city doesn't have (except for closer hiking maybe).

Most of the townhouses in the west 70s-80s (like the first one) are converted private homes, so they have cool/interesting features to them. The top floor was often times the "maid's quarters" although I'm not sure if this one was. The one bad thing is the stairs are always very steep and it usually feels like more than 6 flights up to the top, very high ceilings. All of these are nice apartments that I wish I could afford!

That first two bedroom was killer. Loved the outdoor space. I also really enjoyed that studio, even though it was below grade. It was getting in some natural light, and being by the laundry room is kind of like having in-unit laundry.....minus the part of having to pay each time. Also, love that final two bedroom. I don't mind the interior courtyard views from the bedrooms. It feels like a NYC view to me. Then the busy street noise from the living room. I like it. Not a bad price either, especially after that previous $9500 apartment.

When I was a kid, my father used to barbecue on the roof. And after a couple of years, someone did indeed rat him out and he was banned from bringing the grill on the roof.
When I moved into the building I am in now, the doormen also doubled as elevator operators. It was awkward. Thankfully, a modern elevator was installed a couple of years in.
I would like to live in the first apartment with the outdoor space, but by myself as a one bedroom apartment. Once again you have the situation of people having to go through one of the bedrooms to get to the outdoors.
The basement apartment is a big fat no with the busted looking washing machine right outside the door and the window facing a flight of stairs . You would never be able to keep the curtains open.

It never ceases to amaze me what people have to pay for housing in NYC. That one that is 9500 a month amounts to $114,000 a year! Here in Michigan you can buy a decent HOUSE for that kind of money, and on a mortgage so you don't have to fork over $9500 every month! And it would have bigger bedrooms than 11x8 and wouldn't have a bathroom so small you can barely turn around in it. Who lives like that? Also every time he says "look you can see the sky" or "I hear birds" like it's a big deal makes me really sad for the people who have to live there. How do you keep your sanity when you're separated from nature to that extreme?

Great value!

I love NYC! I especially love Manhattan… I’ve been to a few of the “great cities” around the world, London, Berlin, Paris, tokyo and Bangkok… all are amazing cities but NYC to me is the best… That said it blows my mind that people will pay 10k month to rent an “ok” at best apartment…I live in Dallas (obviously we aren’t NYC and even though falls is amazing it is not NYC… but willing to bet a lot of money that whoever is paying 10k for that place in NYC would prob give up their prime location for what a 10k a month rental gets you in Dallas… We’re talking mansions if you want, or if u want to be downtown you’ll have tons of 5k square foot high rise condos with all the bells and whistles and then some to choose from… not to mention building amenities like high end gyms, a valet/ parking garage, dry cleaners, on site dog parks and way more…

Ok I live in Canada and I’m shocked at these prices 😮how do people afford the rents ? That basement apartment had no escape if there was a fire in any of the other rooms down there !

I doubt I'll ever make it to NY; but I absolutely love the street scenes and the different apartments! I can't even comprehend the prices, but I just pretend there's a conversion factor somewhere, and enjoy the scenery! 😁

Seeing the rent prices in NY these days is insane! I grew up in NJ, so I know how the cost of living îs outrageous up north... an apartment in the town I grew up in was over $1000 a month for a 1 bedroom. That was back in the 80s. I live in Alabama now, and the rent in the 1 bedroom I am in now is just under $800. Crazy the difference in different parts of the country.

The 2500 studio was one that was wacky enough to work, a perfect transition apartment for a person that "lives in the parent's basement" into a basement apartment with new features.
Also, I hope Charles gets well soon! ♥️

Why do so many of these apartments have no screens on the windows?? I love opening windows for the breeze but I like to keep the bugs out at the same time.

    • @janish3059
      @janish3059 2 роки тому

Not only do they have no screens but they never have a view either which is by far more important if you ask me. You can buy a little screen and pull it open to fit in that slot.
