$7k for a 6th floor walk up is never ever going to happen even if I had the money, I’d never pay that and I wouldn’t for my children, grandchildren, brother, sister, aunt, uncle…
One practical thing to consider - many NY movers wouldn't even touch this - they charge by the floor to move you in, and if you're 6 up without an elevator (and a real tight stairwell on top of that), good luck getting furniture in there.
The one-bed with fireplace, third unit wins this easily. As for the other two units...how many people are willing to shell-out $6600/month to walk up and down six floors every day? Now throw lugging groceries, or suitcase, etc. on top of that. Heck! I wouldn't even want to retrieve a GrubHub delivery. While they were nice units it is hard to imagine four adults living in those accommodations and the price is too expensive (IMHO) for the average family.
If I had to compare the 1st 2 units I'd say that the 2nd is better but still no way no how am I walking up & down 6 flights of stairs. & you didn't mention the snack kitchens lol. The 3rd has a quirky kind of charm to i it & sounds right on the price point. But no one is talking about what movers charge for stairs. It's NOT cheap. @@MamaCarola1 What kitchen? Do you mean the 4-burner microplate? The first two apartments might be a good deal for mountain goats who get along well with each other, but six flights get a little tough for the over-30 crowd. Born and raised in an outer borough, I wanted to break out and experience all NYC had to offer. Googled equivalent of $220 in 1972 comparable to 2023. It is $1440. So, 1650/person for the first property is a $210 increase over a period of 51 years. I just like to see you and the tours of New York. But walking up 6 flights of stairs is insane. You have to have an elevator somewhere in this place. I always wonder who rents these places. I guess marathon or triathletes. See ya. Loved the video❤️
If you can afford to buy real estate in NYC, it's likely a great investment. But paying that kind of rent for a 6th floor walk-up? I have no desire to live there and pay that kind of rent to live in a very modest space.
If I every lived in a big city I would rather have a studio with my own kitchen to myself then share an apartment with roommates. I had roommates in collage and sharing a kitchen with 3 other people was a pain. I ended up having to store my food ingredients (canned goods, noodles, etc.) in my room to keep the roommates from using them.
You can store extra rolls of toilet paper under that tiny sink in the first apartment, perhaps some tile cleaner. I'd get make a little greenhouse and grown greens, herbs and veggies on the roof so as to have a little bit of food without exercising on those stairs all the time. The rent is too much even if you do have great appliances.
I would die if I had that space closet. What can you fit in there?😳 Like 2 winter coats? I'd have to get rid of most of my stuff, and no, I'm not rich🤷♀️
Rent is crazy high here in LA too just not quite as bad. This makes me wonder how much Lucy and Ricky's New York apartment would go for these days. It would probably be broken up into 10 apartments with 1 bathroom.

I just like to see you and the tours of New York. But walking up 6 flights of stairs is insane. You have to have an elevator somewhere in this place. I always wonder who rents these places. I guess marathon or triathletes. See ya. Loved the video❤️
Fit young people who want to shed restaurant calories and not pay a gym membership.
Porta-potty for rent $1000 per month - midtown great location - walking distance to the best shops transportation and all transportation.
And best restaurants!!!
All I ask for is this location, with 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, a living room, a kitchen, laundry in unit, and a closet, for $800 a month.
Awesome job cash see you tomorrow
You got it
Ok .
"How much there is to do" doesn't make them any easier to afford...$6595 is INSANITY...
My camper has more counter space kitchen then these overprized places. 😂
As I grow older I start to like the idea of moving out of new York😬
That one with the fireplace is very nice.
Omg New York rent is insane 😵💫
You can store extra rolls of toilet paper under that tiny sink in the first apartment, perhaps some tile cleaner. I'd get make a little greenhouse and grown greens, herbs and veggies on the roof so as to have a little bit of food without exercising on those stairs all the time. The rent is too much even if you do have great appliances.
The first apartment with rooftop deck.. those pipes are exhaust.
Dryer exhaust looks like the one with curve.
6 floor walk up ? Have fun moving in lol
His aggressive way to tell us how bad we cook and eat is hilarious.
Alex trying to convince everyone that a fridge that opens the wrong way is "actually how it's supposed to be" 🤣
I liked the 2nd apartment overall..👌🏽💯😊
I could not imagine moving furniture through those stairs
Love the one for $3195. It has character and a little outdoor space. The other apt would kill me going up all those stairs
I don't care how pretty it looks inside but the entrances and exits are safety issues. This makes me love Texas quality of living space.
When I lived nyc I stayed in a small asss place for a year... it was worse back in the day so this actually looks great )
That's the kind of neighbourhood I'd love to live in.
4:48 surely the sink could be a tad bigger? What is up with that, lol.
I like being on the first floor 😂 especially with a stroller and a kid with a bike etc or groceries
Wow ❤️
6 flights. That's 5 flights above the rats. Sounds good to me 😂
I would die if I had that space closet.
Watching these videos make me appreciate my 1,400 sq. ft. house on 1/3 acre.
$7k and you have to walk up 6 flights of stairs?? No way Jose.
