Nope nope & nope. Those spiral stairs aren't for the faint of heart. Has anyone else noticed that Cash never says how much he hates combo laundry units when the other agent is there?
The bonus apt at the end was my favorite. I would use the bedroom with the skylight as my living room and sleep in the other bedroom. When I win the PCH, that's what I will do!
Cash, this was extremely well done. You are more interesting than HGTV. That is a huge compliment. Your editing is primo. Your timing was spot on. A++ Keep Going.
I literally just finished binge watching about 7 videos because I was sick and I had to catch up. Still don't feel 100% but you definitely help me feel better and how is your beautiful family 😊🥰❤
I lived in a ground floor bachelor 'basement' apartment for 10 years, when I moved back to Toronto not realizing that it was illegal at the time. There were only sliding glass doors leading out to the back garden and the other exit with stairs lead up to my landlord's home and that door was locked from the other side. Fire codes in North America designate that every space has to have two exits. So, every time you see a basement in Cash's videos with only one exit, consider it to be a potential fire trap! After I moved out apparently, my landlord renovated it into a proper one bedroom with two exits!

The review of the neighborhood and stores is the best part, :>) used to live in a basement in Queens, so many Indian stores, we paid $700 per month, the owner placed a kitchen sink, which was wonderful, so we can wash veggies, but bathroom was obnoxiously small, we sat down on the toilet to take a shower, lol
Hi Cash and your friend I like the tiny apartment on the roof. However, the spiral staircase is very narrow. Hopefully, they can build a safer stairs. Overall a very great apartment in NYC 👍
I thought it couldn't be a legal bedroom without a window? And: news bulletin: McDonald's hamburgers are 49 cents! Oh wait, that's if you split one between four people.
It isn't legally a bedroom. You need a window in NY for it legally to be called and/or advertised as a bedroom. "licensed" real estate agents know this (and by ignoring the law to advertise as a bedroom they are giving good, honest agents a bad name). Or they definitely should anyway.
Legally, Mickey Dee's can't call them "hamburgers" They are "patties". I call them nothing burgers! Their coffee is better than ⭐ Bucks in a second & the best reason to go to McDonald's. That and the shamrock ☘️ shake on St. Patties' Day! In NYC, a keyhole is a window, apparently ..... as long as light gets through.
Ah, my old neighborhood. A great area of town. I lived there before the metal staircases entered the scene....lol. I don't think I could maneuver those steps, nor would I want to. One wrong move and you end up on your head at the bottom of the stairs. The basic problem with those steps is that you really can't carry anything up or down them safely. I prefer the apts before they got in there and chopped them up into little compartments and not real rooms anymore. How you could have roomies in these tiny places is beyond my comprehension.
I’m sorry but it’s not a tiny house it’s an access point. I’m subscribed and I even watch all of your advertisements to try and help you out. Love the content. I will probably never be able to afford to visit New York. I get to live vicariously through you. Thank you. May you all please take care and stay safe.
Hey on that refrigerator door, I'm sure you know this already, you can reverse the way it opens. And actually would be more convenient when you cook. Love your channel. Grew up a super's kid in the northwest Bronx. Lots of those many empty basement rooms were for coal storage and had no windows. If they faced the street they may have had a shoot for the coal truck to unload. I question the legality of some of these located below ground level in low areas of the city due to the possibility of flooding. I used to do add ons in San Francisco where the first floors were 6 feet above the ground . We used to jack these up and get an extra floor.🤟😎👍
If I bought a place like that I would totally rip out the spiral staircase and put in a personal elevator. They sell small ones for homes these days for rally reasonable prices and many look like clear tubes - retro.
@@williamegler8771 Yep. Check them out. They’re not like the old personal home elevators you used to see in expensive homes. One day install. Comes as kit. Some people put them In themselves. Pricing isn’t as bad as you would think. Also easier and safer to get food and stuff upstairs instead of those steep spirals. Even Cash gets freaked out by some of those top floor to roof spiral.
I love Eataly and I love Madsion Square Park (Squirrels With Attitudes). LOL! Alex is getting much more comfortable with the camera. Two more appearances and we'll see that full-scale party/frat boy personality! I liked the 1st 2/bed apartment at $4500k/month that was ground floor. That wasn't bad except I laughed at the snack area that literally only took up a corner and wanted to pass itself off as a kitchen. Unit #2 at $4K/month... sorry, but I'm done with those narrow staircases and fearing for my life. Unit #3 at $6K/month was okay. The outdoor space saves it but that downstairs area... I don't know. Now, (I'm sure there will be disagreement) but I really liked that "2/bed" unit at $3700/month. So, what you don't have a living room. One would be surprised what one could do with a sofa futon and a hassock bed. I'd look at the one more closely.
Cash, you know - the problem isn't that the spiral staircase is too small. It's that your feet are too big! Of course, it's said that that's not necessarily a bad thing. ;)
Hi Cash! Love your videos! That life threatening spiral staircase is not good! ❤ I might be a snob but since living in a dorm in college I don’t want to share my apartment with anyone. So I would like an apartment with no sharing
On the first apartment, those fridges are designed with swappable doors which is a more practical setting. However, broom closet idea by relocating the fridge put practicality over aesthetics for a random inconvenience, if any.
Yeah....because if you live in an apartment the size of a shoebox you're gonna want private outdoor space where you can spread out and stretch your legs, grill, sit on a lounge chair and sip a beer, get some peace and quiet etc. Honestly I don't know how some of these people in NY made it through COVID or quarantine time living in some of these tiny spaces. Imagine having 3 or 4 roommates with no outdoor space and your only private space is your 10 x 9 room. It's kinda jail-like.
The first was was just okay, the other 2 not so much. I am still mesmerized by 1, how much they are. 2, by the the lack of sizable rooms. I live in a 1 bedroom brownstone with 800 sq feet for 995 a month in a Midwestern city. I am guessing in Manhattan, it would be 5000 or more..I do enjoy seeing your video's. Judging by your subscribers they like you as well.

Remember the TV show in the 60s A Family Affair. I've always loved the apartment they lived in located in NYC. Are there any apartments like that? Where was the apartment building from that show located?
I think it was all filmed on Desilu soundstages. No idea what building was used for exterior shots, if there was one. I haven't seen that show since the early 1970s! I do recall that it was supposed to be on Fifth Avenue.
The last apartment would be perfect for a couple. Use the smaller bedroom as a bedroom, split the rent ($1847 each) and make that killer skylight room the living room.
The last apartment didn't have a living room! That is just single sleeping rooms with a tiny kitchen and bathroom. The owners have a lot of nerve charging so much money for basically just a bedroom.

I'm with you. Hell to the no on those stairs. I'm afraid of heights, though. You couldn't get me on on of those, so I'd never see the roof! LOL

I thought it couldn't be a legal bedroom without a window? And: news bulletin: McDonald's hamburgers are 49 cents! Oh wait, that's if you split one between four people.
