Hey David, i really liked the Elvis lesson, thx for that. I had a question for you. Awhile back I had told you about some guitars I inherited from my brother in law when he passed away last year. One of the guitars is a Goya Rangemaster. Is this a good guitar ? I've never heard of this brand and im getting different info off the web. What's your take ? Thanks Tim S.
Hi Tim and thank u for watching this lesson and for your kind words - really appreciated. Yes, I remember that you contacted me some time ago. Regarding the Goya guitar. Some of their models have become quite collectible and are worth some money. You can always do a seach for your guitar on reverb or ebay to see what the current market used values are. I did a fast ck on reverb.com and it seems that Goya Rangemasters are listed for anywhere between $850-$2600 depending on the model and condition. Remember those are asking prices and its always more accurate to find out what the guitars sold for - you can ask for whatever u like - doesnt mean you will get ur asking price - but maybe. I have played a goya before and it was not for me as the model I played was very eloborate and seemed more a show piece than a working mans guitar. Their models have a unique look to them so its a very specified taste thing. I think u either like them or you dont. The one I played didnt sound all that great but again, its subjective. It seems to me they are more a very kind of jewelry guitar that has a cult following type of thing. But its possible you have a gem - feel free to email me some pics to TheNextLevelGuitar@yahoo.com - the vintage market is hot as prices have gone up considerably. But Goya is a limited market guitar so to speak. WHat other kinds of guitars did he have? And be sure to take a good look around the channel as we have tons of killer content and lessons - lots of fun stuff. Enjoy and stay tuned - lots more lessons and content coming soon. Elvis was such a treasure to have lost way too soon. Whenever I hear this song, I feel sorry for him that he had to go.
