Cool video! I was born in 1950. I had a brother that was 7 years older than me. He had a nice collection of “45’s” that I grew up listening to. I have fond memories of all these old songs. All of that music was simple. By the way. The first live performance I ever went to was when I was 13 years old. The Everly Brothers in 1963.

I think you’ve got a great channel here Andy Guitar. Too many UA-cam guitar tutorials and teaching videos waffle on about modes, flat fifths sharp nines and diminished 7s. And they go into complex fast iterations of notes but really don’t go anywhere musically or ever actually play anything you can connect with or remember. Sure they may well have great command of the guitar but never actually play a song. I have been guilty of it myself twanging a series of meaningless runs and jams that are waffle really.. you know what I mean. Often guaranteed to bore you to sleep.
What you offer is back to basics real time songs that players new or old can understand clearly and repeat relatively easily and quickly. Here’s the point, it is music we know and can sing along with and connect and enjoy which the essence of music and playing the instrument. Thank you very much my friend … very good.

Hi another great video. I wonder if I could trouble you for some advice. I’m 52 just picked up a guitar and started your 10 day lesson. I can kinda play that first E chord but not all strings ring out. I’m using tips but no matter what I try I can not touch other strings 🥹 I’m using. Squier SA-159

You look like you’re barely pressing down n the frets. I have to really press so hard . Do you think I need the action lowering ?
Could be. If it’s a decent guitar it’s always worth having a pro set-up. Lighter strings will also help. And of course, your fingers get stronger the more you play.
@@colindayo I put lighter strings on its a Yamaha 3/4 size but I still need to press down so hard
