Coffee is one of my top favorite drinks along with tea. These documentaries have really brought a smile to my face and hope in my heart. Keep up the good work.
I'm obsessed with coffee, pastries, and the good feeling that they can give you. My dream is to have my own shop with some specialty coffees and simple yet delicious pastries.
Man i think all Thrash Lab reports on is within the LA metro area. Which is alright, for me. It made me realize that in a single city there is much more culture going on than what is shown in postcards and tours. That people do live wtihin that city and that they all have their own personal character attached to them. Thanks.
omg the guy at handsome coffee roaster hit the nail on the head. I've worked at about 5 coffee shops, and the different names of the espressos with milk really do cause tension. Then u have the customers who've had their drink at some other shop come to you in your place of work arguing u down about how much foam is too much or how long or short they want the shot, and the degree of the milk. then you see them go to the condiment stand and dowse the drink with extra milk and sugar and powders :(
how come i never found out about this channel before.. i was looking for a cool barbershop in Australia and for some reasons my browser took me here and i'm so glad
Great video! Loved it. Mind me asking what camera you used to shoot it? And what video system? I really enjoy the clarity and steadiness of the shots. Thanks!
The problem with "Espresso with Milk" is it doesn't distinguish between proportions. In Australia and the UK, we have Flat Whites (sometimes called Double Macchiatos), which is about the same volume as a latte, but a double shot of coffee and slightly less milk. Perhaps this is why it hasn't make it stateside.
The fact that the coffee bean is a fruit DID occur to me. I think their specialty roasting is a celebration of how coffee farming is done, and how it has to be done 'just right' There is something unique about the nature of the coffee tree, the fruit, where it grows, etc., that I can't quite put a finger on.., :D
For all of you who are calling this pretentious bullshit; there is a quote at 7:50 that sums it up quite well. To paraphrase: It is a subjective experience, you can experience the culture of coffee (and anything else for that matter) however you want. As a barista I enjoy the atmosphere of artisan cafes and providing the highest quality service. As a car enthusiast I enjoy driving (whether it is competitive or just for fun) and making sure that my car is performing to its fullest potential.
It's interesting how caffine is only in the coffee plant in order to protect it's self. When insects eat the plant they get a huge caffine over dose and die, yet it stimulates humans.
I worked with a gentleman that at one of his shops the barista drank about 10 shots of espresso during a shift and ended up being hospitalized. That's about 10 ounces
+Joshua Phillips it was his own fault, he was a well trained barista that new the science of caffeine but chose to drink an excessive amount. And as far as I know, no health issues just foolishness.
i want to open a shop, but i'm not doing all of this. lol Thank God for great people who produce coffee from their souls. I get the coffee from them, and i'll handle the rest
I've never liked hot drinks but I'm now drinking my first cup of coffee and I like it. I also like that it's 11pm and I'm drinking coffee lol. BTW I'm 13 so it's not like coffee hasn't touched my lips for 40 years lol.
your website is just a really nice picture of you and a little form to fill out to be part of one of those crazy not worth while businesses like organo gold
Gale Boetticher from Breaking Bad is the real deal. This ain't no coffee! :b Now speaking more seriously, as I said before, every single video of trashlab gives this sensation of an unique feeling to every single craft. Magnificent.
+Chicken Fancy Pants for me, it was the same as the guy at 5:16 - i hated it when i first tried it. but then i went to a coffee shop and had one made properly and it tasted amazing
Melbourne is considered the mecca of coffee (outside the parentage of Italy). if u guys want to test ur worth, amoungst serious and seasoned drinkers. please i invite u to set up business in this town.
The people at my local Starbucks helped me out with this little tip.. thought I'd pass it on! ..shit I can't put links. It's on my channel if you're interested.
Well Starbucks is as common in New York as pubs in London. And all those paper cups. You even have to ask in many of the top rated coffee shops to get your pour over coffee/americano in a proper porcelain cup instead of a paper cup. They don't ask you if you are heaving the coffee in or to takeaway. Here in Iceland you get discount for bringing your own travel mug and even in some shops you have to pay extra for getting your coffee in a paper cup.
Coffee,coffee,coffee,coffee,coffee-Everywhere. LOVE IT!!!
Coffee is one of my top favorite drinks along with tea. These documentaries have really brought a smile to my face and hope in my heart. Keep up the good work.
a great small documentary, thanks.
I wonder why cocoa and (liquid) chocolate hasn't created similar movements. I love both.
one's gotta love the substance that allows you to triumph over your circadian rhythms

"Makes you smarter, more energetic, more charming, happier."
Science at its best.
It IS an art, isn't it? If I'm not mistaken, coffee is the only agriculture now where the beans are still hand-picked?
All Hail the Mighty Coffee Bean!
I have an addiction to coffee and my La Pavoni Pro.
Thanks for a grate video
I begin to appreciate my career as a barista as I watch this video.

This is great video of coffee . Very Impressive. Great Job.

Excellent! Great info...2000 hours to make a awesome cup!
It's interesting how caffine is only in the coffee plant in order to protect it's self. When insects eat the plant they get a huge caffine over dose and die, yet it stimulates humans.
To much of it can hurt use as well. Everything should be taken in small amounts!!! Balance
I forget the figures, but it would take a ridiculous amount of coffee to drink before it damages. But you're absolutely right.
I worked with a gentleman that at one of his shops the barista drank about 10 shots of espresso during a shift and ended up being hospitalized. That's about 10 ounces
Wow, he should have sued someone! I'm no doctor but I can imagine it was heart issue?
+Joshua Phillips it was his own fault, he was a well trained barista that new the science of caffeine but chose to drink an excessive amount. And as far as I know, no health issues just foolishness.
Just FYI, there are some compression artifacts ("blockiness") @ 5:44
I promise, every cup of coffee I make, is the best.

The price list lists 3, 5 and 10 oz cups. I'd imagine each contains the same amount of espresso.

Coffee is culture in many parts of the U.S. I don't know how it is in chocolate land over there ;).
