I’m in native California. I’m native American. My people are California. I’m also Spanish my family was one of the first settlers of California. Growing up in Southern California is one of the main reasons why I love coffee. California and coffee to me equal the same thing. I love the California coffee culture. I love Los Angeles and Orange County, San Diego and so many cultures come together over coffee. This is a beautiful episode.
You just described southern California and what its coffee culture is all about. Now, you see why we say Coffee The Universal Language. Thank you for watching, and please share. I'm so glad to be a part of this coffee community we have in LA. LaNisa and Nicely have paved the way for baristas like myself.

Coffee is a way to connect people from different backgrounds.
Indeed! As Amanda said “I like to call coffee the great connector” Thank you for watching and please subscribe and share.
Selina mentions the word experience. That’s what it’s all about! Every time I have had The Nicely Experience I leave his shop ( I’ve been to several over the years ) much happier than when I ( or we when my wife is with me ) walk into his shop. I can’t wait to get back over to Hooked Venice for the great coffee, music and the Nicely Experience! Congratulations to all of you who appear in this gorgeous film and to all of you involved in the countless hours of pre production, filming, lighting, sound, editing etc.. this is Top Notch Creative Filmmaking & Storytelling.
For us, the experience is key! You are correct, that when you are in the presence of nicely, the hospitality is outstanding. Selina nails it with "tell me what you want to experience, and I'll tell you where to go." Every single person in this episode, loves people through coffee. Thank you for watching, and if you have not done so already, please subscribe and share. Thank you for your support.
There's Hope 😌 I'm moving to LA later this year to continue my journey in coffee. Looking forward to connecting with all of these folks. 🖤☕
“I’m moving to L.A. later this year…” Amazing! There are welcoming hands out here for sure. We are excited for your continued coffee journey. Please make sure to connect with the folks in the episode as they will connect you with others in the coffee community. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t done so already. as a former coffee shop management team member and barista at a small chain in Seattle, watching this encapsulates why we get into this...the theatre, the experiences, the artistry, the vocation, the relationships, the innovation, the family, the sense of place and of course the coffee...this is well done an a perfect chef's kiss to the industry we all love for so many reasons...please make more of these--this is a revelation! I glad this came across my feed this morning before starting my day as I make some Vietnamese Phin filter coffee....
A chefs kiss back at this comment. Your words encapsulate what is being portrayed. Thank you! If you have not done so already, please make sure and subscribe as this is episode 2 of 6.

This was fucken amazing. Making someone a cup of coffee and see the joy it brings them is indescribable. We spend 100’s of hours, 1000’s of dollars to learn how to make a decent cup of coffee. It’s a passion. Working behind the counter at my restaurant bring me joy. It’s hard work, but love every moment. Still have a lot to learn, will start visiting these coffee shops for inspiration. Much love and cheers.
Thank you so much for the comment. It’s people like you that motivated us to start this documentary. More cities and more stories to come.
Beautifully produced! Amazing storyline and great profiles!!! 🤘🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

Shout out to all the coffee beans out there in Cali, met a coffee shop out there that is all in my opinion good coffee ... so much so I became a coffee bean in San Diego howln out to Spill The Beans Coffee Shop that alongside experiencing big city life was the best times in my life.. big city grind just like the bean itself..
Inspiration is what keeps us all going. Thank you for watching, and if you have not done so already, please subscribe and share. Thank you again!

One of the most amazing coffee shops I’ve been to in California is Caje Coffee Roasters in Santa Barbara! So delicious and innovative, wish they were in SoCal as well. Also I have to give props to many of the Vietnamese coffee shops in OC, ca. some of the best coffee I’ve had as well. Long Black Coffee in Fountain Valley and Phin Smith in Garden Grove, ca
So many great coffee communities throughout the U.S.
Thank you for watching!
7:07 Agreed 👌 ☕️
Wonderful video! I still think LA has the best coffee scene in the world
Thank you for watching! L.A. has a very diverse, and rich coffee culture for sure!
Apart from the great coffee stories I am a fan of, I have to give props to his shoe game in 15:19. I have a pair of those AJ 1 Next Chapter kicks, and my girlfriend and I give them a wear from time to time. 🔥
👍🏽 Thank you for being a fan! The shore game is real with nicely. We had about 5 takes for that shot with 5 different pairs of kicks. Thanks for watching and if you haven’t already, please subscribe and share.
Love you son, Mom.

I love this on so many levels. I'm LA born & raised. I'm 38, going on 39 in a few months and I just recently been submerged in the speciality coffee scene back in 2020, purchased a Breville Barista Express in 21'. Fast forward Jan/24' I own a Bianca V3, a Eureka Libra and have a whole setup that's absolutely beautiful. Coffee and the whole preparation, to presentation, to the sensations is so therapeutic to me. I've always loved coffee since I was 14, but I never really appreciated it like I do now. It connects you with people, places and experiences.
Thank you for watching. Coffee is a great conduit indeed. The coffee shops are a great space where one can walk in alone, but not be alone while enjoying this great elixir. @@CTULProject You're welcome! Loving the series. Can't wait to see the next EP's that come out.
Beautiful episode! Im from LA and feel so lucky to experience the coffee this city has to offer. I loved everyone’s story and plan to go to the shops that were mentioned here. I hope you guys can revisit LA to make another episode on other coffee shops, my favorites right now are: Mad Lab Coffee, Mandarin Coffee, Tierra Mia (a classic LA chain), Super Domestic and Smoking Tiger ☺️
Thank you for watching and thank you for the kind words. LA is so diverse in its people and coffee culture. It truly is a place to experience the world without getting on a plane. Please make sure and visit and let them know you saw them on the CTUL Los Angeles episode.
The shops you mentioned are also wonderful, so many in Los Angeles. If you thought you peeped Sherry at Mandarin Coffee stand, you are right. Thanks again for watching. Stay tuned for more cities.

Americans finally discovered good coffee huh ?! 😂 bruh , took y’all long enough . #melbournecoffee 💪🏼
haha.. Melbourne n Australia does have probably the 'best coffee' coffee culture in the world but it's lacking diversity compare to its northern neighbours (ie: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam). Plus, it's just too expensive and not a (major) producer.
It’s Coffee The Universal Language. Thanks for watching, and please don’t forget to subscribe. More episodes coming.
Thanks for watching and please make sure to subscribe if you haven’t already done so. This is episode 2 of 6 for season 1 of COFFEE The Universal Language.

Amazing video, but the audio being abruptly cut off after people finish their sentences repeatedly is a little jarring. Loved the video nonetheless and can’t wait for the next one!
