INFP married to an ISTP - been together 13 years total. We knew of each other growing up but didn't start talking until late high school. I noticed him first and was daydreaming about what kind of person he was, but was too shy to speak up so I never said anything. Finally, friends convinced me to wave to him. So I waved for a few weeks; he started waving back for a few more weeks. Then he finally walked over and said hi. Turns out he was too nervous to talk to me too. The skits here were VERY accurate. XD Glad our extroverted friends encouraged us to talk to each other.

Me: So I'm actually in the process of inventing my own fantasy world complete with its own language. The cosmology was based on norse mythology with its tiered worlds. Mine essentially has three heavens, three underworlds, and three continents of the mortal realm in the middle. Everything in the world was made by a divine, eternal being called An - no relation to the ancient Sumerian god of the same name. The language still remains one of the most challenging parts of the whole project: I created a unique set of phonemes by putting English through a cipher, then playing around with the result until I got the desired sound. Word order was a little tricky since I don't speak any language other than English particularly well, and so it's difficult for me to think in alternate word orders. Eventually I settled on OSV because of how unusual it is and because I've heard Yoda so often it's easy for me to think like that. I've managed to translate the first nine verses of Genesis 11, because, you know, the mixing of the languages. The whole theme of the conworld is how things reflect the agent that made them in some way. It ties in very deeply to my own ideas about reality and... wait, where are you going? Ok... *existential sigh*

You actually want to know more? Don't say I didn't warn you. The first being that was made was Eruvadh (dh is pronounced ð, as in "the", whereas th is pronounced θ, as in "thin"). Eruvadh was tasked to make creatures to inhabit Kavá (that is all creation), according to the designs laid out by An. However, Eruvadh sought to make his own creations and went out from Nimnuhal (the highest of the spheres), to find inspiration. The empty shell of Eruvadh's body was given a new soul by An, untouched by the curse, and became the ancestor of the Bim. The Gaka were damned to live underground, out of the light of the sun that burned them to death.
And yeah, that's a condensed version of the origin of the races of Kavá (not including the Anuhín, who came a bit later and have no relation to Eruvadh). Hope you found that fairly interesting.
YES I AM CURRENTLY DOING THE EXACT SAME THING
My current world is loosely based on Earth, 'Gods' are forms of 'mutiple thought', just like 'societies' and 'nations'. The language is different based on aspects such as terrain and culture. The country I am working on has a west Europe sort of feel, with clothes based off of 18th century England, and to the left of it there's a more Turkish sort of country, but with elves. I spent around two years working on the magic phenomena, and the multiple world stuff and dimensional stuff, I spent even more on the gods and cycle of reincarnation which is very complicated. But I can't tell anyone. Because people run away.
I really like that you imbued a mythology in your approach. There's a kind of story in your world that really flows, and it is really beautiful. I am curious. How was An made? What does he/she feel about his/her existence? What exactly is the Void? So the spheres were there BEFORE An or after? How were they made? How do they function? What is the exact power that An has? What is Eruvadh and An's relationship? I mean, An is mad about Eruvadh making stuff, there must be a reason. Is An a 'good' god? Or evil? What is a 'spirit'?

Yeah, something can make absolutely perfect sense and still not be correct. At least as far as other people's motivations and all that. That's why I stick to impersonal systems. Calculus is easier to understand than questions like "has anybody ever flirted with me?" (INTJ)
@@frigginjerk Unfortunately my INFJ brain is very people oriented. Objective stuff like calculus is nice, but understanding people and their motivations is what really gets me going, so I kind of find myself having to whether I like it or not. Haha

I'm not in one of the much-vaunted STEM fields myself, so I like to tease my science friends by saying that their work is a lot easier than mine because they have the luxury of objectivity, whereas I have to deal with weird, irrational, unpredictable humans.

I empathized more with the crush in that one. The lackluster "no" that you give when you know you're going to be mortified, but there's nothing you can do to prevent it. You know, if I had to be part of a theatrical production, being the guy who points the spotlight at everyone else would be the safest way for me to stay out of it, myself.
INTP pro tip: In the early stages, communicate with you crush via email/text so that you have time to put actual thought into your words.
Anyway, this worked for my husband and I (both INTPs.) He first asked me out via email, and we are still (10+ years into marriage) more likely to communicate via email than telephone when we are not in the same location.

So haha This is my personal experience as an INFJ, I don't know if it applies to everyone, but haha I'm the one who keeps watching their crush from affar thinking "Please, notice me! Please, notice me!" And then somehow my crush approaches me and I'm like "Oh no!! Please don't come my way! Please, don't talk to me! I'm not ready for this! OMG! What should I say??" and then begin to awkwardly talk and become an ENFP failing horribly at conversation, then trying to get away from there, and be haunted forever by repeating it all over in my head! 😂
(ISTP) Had a crush on a girl that worked at a social spot. Found a way to make myself useful there. So much that I was offered a job. I did all of this to get to know her better (also because I dont do well sitting around and socializing).
Working there landed me a few dates with her and though we decided not to pursue anything, I've made some friends in the process.

I've also 100% used the "I'm not dating right now" excuse before, but it was when someone I wasn't interested in asked me out (except I'm still unsure if they were just asking to hang out as friends or if they wanted to actually go on an actual date.......). If someone I liked asked me out, I think I would just panic. Because on one hand, I'd be like "wow, this wonderful person likes me too", but then on the other hand I would be afraid that they would eventually think I was boring and dump me. Like, I would love to love someone with all of my being, but what if after being open and vulnerable and close, they leave? Then I'd have to start that process all over with someone else. :( I have a feeling that if I ever get into a romantic relationship, I would have to have been friends with the guy for a long time first, lol
I am usually freinds at least to an extenct with the other person. i do need to observe them for awhile, get a sense of them before I am willing to risk it. When I do fall in love it is fast and real.

I will deliberately put in extra effort to treat a crush the same as I treat other people. I need the crush to relax and make it easy for me to see and analyse their most authentic actions, thoughts and feelings.
Even as I talk to another person, my Ni is noting all the responses and comments from the crush.
I don't think someone I have a crush on would ever know that I like them except maybe in the very early stages when I am not yet prepared for the feelings and I may act a bit enfp-ish.
I now actually believe that Enfjs can be very very good spies or private investigators.

Yeah, as an INTP, I almost always engage in conversation with crushes like that. And I often think I've revealed too much.
When she started talking while they were busy with work, I was like No, that girl needs to get her priorities straight, it's work time now not conversation time so we are definetely not doing the whole conversation thing. I was right - INTJ
As an INJT I fully relate, easy trick to get rid of those feelings is to accept them as soon as possible, distance yourself from your crush and then quietly work to get rid of them.
Dang I feel called out here. Asking them deep questions because we MUST figure out how your brain works. BUT then making a complete bafoon of ones self as we try to abscond with our dignity left in the womb because let’s be real here I don’t think an ENFP has dignity left. FROM an ENFP who most definitely do that on more than one occasion. Also can we just say how unappreciated the ESFP totally was by their crush.

As an INFJ I've always envied you INTJ's. There are distinct similarities but also many differences amongst these two personality types and I've always found that somewhat intriguing.
I am an ENTJ, and had a conversation 75% similar with my gf, this is uncanny, scary, yet astonishingly accurate.
I'm an INTJ who had a multi-year relationship with an INFJ several years back. I can't think of a better summary of the experience than their scene here. About 75 percent of the relationship consisted of me rejecting the emotional reasons she read into my evasive behavior by stating that I was trying to solve a problem.

As for the INTJ... well, I can relate in some capacity, but INTJs in love can actually be pretty romantic. If the feelings are strong enough, they have the ability to even mostly turn off Te and enhance Se. I know that from experience. Of course, when Te goes back to normal, the whole "feelings are so inconvenient" thing comes back at full force, so there's that. ;)
I'm not sure if this would be a common preference among INTJs, but in any relationship, if I could fast-forward about six months from the first date, i would do that every single time. My thinking is, by that point, the relationship probably either ran it's course and is already over and everything is back to normal, or else it's just getting into the good part then. I think it's mostly an "efficiency" thing on my part, but that's probably also right about when I'd feel comfortable showing the more romantic and demonstrative part of myself that are otherwise invisible.
The INFP "living life in one's head" vibe is coming over strong... but also so true for me

I'm an ISFP and I find secretely crushing on somebody and taking no action or even rejecting the object of my infatuation PAINFULLY accurate.
Personally, I believe in permanence of marriage so the impact of my decision on whether or not to be with a person becomes so big I that I can't take the pressure. In addition to that, I often experience melancholy and internal conflict between my desires and my moral principles so I get stuck...
