Hi guys how's progress going on your boat. Well, more to the point, how are you? I haven't seen you for a while & was hoping all is ok in your world. I can only imagine how this project could possibly get you down. I'm also trying to fix up an old steel boat. But I'm only putting bandaids on mine because that's all I can afford at this point. I really admire how you have tackled project & how you have fully coated the inside in order to keep the rust at bay. That is something I dream of👍. Hope to see you soon. Keep up the good work 💪 SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
A deadly conversion, you will never have enough power to do a passage without wind, no way to make a long hard run from weather. When you do have a battery fire you can't put it out and no where to go. I love the lines on your boat, the davits are my favorite. Best of luck.
I think they would run into problems navigating around fishing traps and pots well before they run into a problem with any storm system. Even if they aren't intentionally placed there in the first place, I've had to dodge around those float buoys even in shipping lanes before. Range anxiety on a normal electric vehicle is already enough to make me swear them off, I can't even begin to imagine the level of stress and anxiety going full electric on a boat would cause me.
The angle of the benches would have been suitable during the most agressive heel. But since this is a liveaboard boat and not a racing boat, then the living spaces, including the cockpit need to be comfortable while at rest as well.
We have an electric motor, basically we are sailing without an engine except for the last mile, loving every minute under sail, going old-school. Amazon Brazil has some amazing deals but foreigners should get a CPF online before arriving in Brazil.
Ah yes, the dreaded CPF is quite annoying. Good to know you can get it online! Thanks for your electric motor feedback! Did you opt to have a backup generator too or are doing well without?
@lahakai We have a backup generator 2000w is best, but we are using 1000w, making do until we can get a larger one. A backup is necessary Toyama generators are available from Amazon Brazil.
Lithium batteries are not orientation limited due to "dry cell" technology.they have clearance issues for heat dissipation.free form the battery layout for accessability.
Just watched a sailing video with 5 days of no wind where on a 34 ft boat are going to put enough solar panels to keep enough charge to run your boat.Well like everything else you have done on the boat you have a to do multiple times when are ever gone to lean
More and more people are going all electric, first , always plan trips around weather patterns with multiple days of no wind , modern weather gear provides the capability to do this. Second, LI batteries are awesome,, Third , these two aren’t stupid, they got this..
This is very true @allenwade6087 . Uma says this as well. Traveling with their electric motor is a different kind of sailing. There is a lot of planning to understand the weather and the boats capabilities. It has also made them step up and become better sailors so they can get the most out of the wind. Also, Technology has come a long way in a short period of time, and we're very interested in seeing what we can build and how it performs.
Ah interesting, we were thinking that people just went on our page and found the videos in order. Are you watching on a TV? Is that why it would help to be in the title?
It’s all still coming together, well done. Can I commend the video editing. Just wondered who does it, how did they learn and what software is used, great use of graphics to explain things!
Thanks so much! 🙏🙏 Luke and I do it all 😅 We use DaVinci Resolve free version and taught ourselves. It's really straight forward and its easy to find how-tos on YT when you want to try something new.The Pro version of the software also looks great and we'd love to upgrade one day (just a one time fee evidently) but so far the free version is working out just fine! Cheers!
what happened to your videos i haven't seen you lately, was just thinking about and went to your web site and can't find out one lately, i thought you were on the finishing the interior, and now i am put back to when you were installing you batterys
@@mattamorra5175 strange though when you see some UA-cam channels and then suddenly... Gone, no announcement, no goodbye, no sorry this didn't work out... Just that vanished.
Is everything ok? Haven't seen a video in 3 months! Are you still working on the Boat? Are Ya'll still alive? What's up? Is the channel still alive? Or did ya'll give up? Ok I will give it a few more weeks before I drop the channel. So until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Aloha and cheers 🍻
You are making a massive error, even with a big battery bank, you will not have the endurance of a conventionally powered boat, in the event of country winds, and tide , your battery's will not be sufficient for a prolonged run, I suggest you reconsider , it is your not only lives you place in jeporady , but those Sent to rescue you
Can you put numbers in your videos do we xan see correct order. Love the videos but finding it difficult. Especialky the ones were you are fixing the boat😊
We can do this no problem! We had them in there before and removed them because we thought people could find the order on our video tab in our profile. Do you prefer watching our channel on the computer, phone or TV?
Thanks for letting us know! We have added the Ep# now to the titles. You can also head to our profile and under the videos tab, it default show you all of them in order from latest to oldest. Cheers!
Posted on their Facebook page. They took jobs to help pay for the boat work.

Desistam não pessoal, força aí!
Your videos are of excellent quality! Better than some of these high volume channels. Please keep going if you have the energy. You are so helpful!
Its coming along great
When you sail those "oddly inclined seats" will make a lot more sense!

Looking good guys. I know everything is moving slow, but it's moving forward. 👍😎
Little by little right? We’ll get there! 🙌⛵️
@@lahakai Been watching a while but never commented. Many of us concerned I think with no update in over 3 months. Hope you are okay.

The journey still seems to be going. Patience people.
Hi!! No more videos? What happened? Is everything ok? 😮
You need to have large drainage holes in the lower ends of the battery boxes in the hope never needed but we'll worth drilling out now
Great suggestion! Good looking out! Cheers ⛵️

Hope your all ok ??? How about a quick update just to keep us in the loop even if nothings been done
I think that for whatever reason this project is at an end. I'm not expecting to hear any more from these people.
A cheap boat turned out to be not so cheap.
I spray cans of that plastic paint on the bottom of battery boxes.
How long have you all been working on this project for now ??
We have been working on and off for about 2 years. We had a lot of down time in the year before.
Hi guys just wondering how you’re doing and if you’re releasing any more videos hope everything is going well we miss you
See you using CAD... Cardboard Aided Design

They put lithium batteries on their boat. ☠️ 😜
