Wow, you really have a great collection from these 2 labels. Some Other Time is such a great session and overall package. I have to agree that the Bill Evans Ronnie Scott’s is a poor recording, but it’s worth it just for the cover art. The Mingus at Ronnies is very intense but great. I really only liked the studio session from the Sonny Rollins, I found the live recordings quite poor for me. Thanks for your video Graham 🙏

Yes - I (by coincidence) discovered the 3LP "Art D'Lugoff's" when it was released in 2012 and since I have been attentive when RR released new material. "Some Other Time" (and its sister "Another Time") are really great - RR's best I think.
And I agree with you on Sonny Rollins: The studio sessions are the best (by far). However I find them so good that it - almost - justifies for buying the 3LP-set (and can be had for app $/€ 35). Stay safe - Claus.

Great video Captain! It's funny that these session were recorded in Europe in the 60's it shows that the Jazz scene was very active at that time! Looking forward always for your videos! Tak!

Thanks Ali 🙂 Yes a lot of US jazz stars toured in Europe at that time - and luckily were often recorded.
