  • If you don't necessarily have to have first editions or top audiophile versions of the music - then Twofers can be a way to get excellent music with big names and in good quality. And all for a low price!
I present my jazz Twofers and the pros and cons of buying Twofers.
(re-upload due to sound issues on first upload - sorry)

I love seeing those two-fers getting some love. They usually sound great and aren't very expensive. ♥️ I have that Stan Getz one and it has the song Melinda on it. 😃 Take care.

I bought some Miles and Coltrane Prestige twofers in the early 70’s when I was a teenager. They sound very good. In fact, often twofers are the best sounding released. That is the case with the 70’s Beach Boys twofers. They sound better than the 60’s originals.

Great topic. I also am going to do a spotlight on an overlooked twofer series soon - we’re operating on the same wavelength lol. - Mike

That's my feeling too, Mike. Looking forward to hearing your take on twofers 👍
And even if I love the superb sound quality on audiophile releases, I still find a great pleasure when I pick up a really good record for "no money" (for example on a twofer).

Very interesting subject and you are right that it can help build a collection quite fast for less money. You probably know that there’s a twofer of the Bill Evans Village Vanguard albums and the interesting thing is that it has the performance in the original order as played live, plus an extra track. Thanks for the video 🙏

      Thanks for your comment 🙂
I know of the Bill Evans Twofer, but don't have it. And you're right: That would be the perfect thing for someone who wants to establish a jazz collection. The cheepest NM is under € 20 - a LOT of great music for next to no money!
I have both "Sunday..." and "Waltz..." in 2-3 copies each, so I have almost all of the music (except for "Porgy") so... - but the again 😉

Please do a video on the 2 Dolphy twofers sets that came out on prestige....

Thanks - I don’t have these (yet), but if I get them I might do a video. I have to say though that Eric Dolphy is not my favorite musician, so I might not go for them.

I You need a lot more volume on this video I can barely hear you. Please turn up the volume or as they used to say back in the 80s, pump up the volume.

Thanks for your comment. I already made a re-upload w. the volume turned up (as much as possible from the recording made)…
      Can’t you hear me still?
