I live an hour from Springfield. Probably been through all of the DDIs there. They improve traffic and didn't cost that much since they use the old bridges.
I prefer the cloverleaf with collectors. It is easy to understand and superior in in functionality. You want to stay on the same highway: Ignore it and just fly through. You want to change the highway: Hit the "leave" lane and pick the one you want. Whatever option, it's always on your right. You've hit the "leave" lane and found out, it was a mistake: Just go straight on and don't pick any Option. You've changed the highway and very late found out it was wrong: Just go through every 4 lobes and go on in your original direction.
Just imagine it like it's a planetary gear set. The big outer roundabout is traveling one direction, the inner large roundabout is traveling the other way. The small roundabouts in between change the traffic flows direction so they can go from one big roundabout to the other big roundabout and allow cars to get out of the interchange. In the roundabout this guy Drew the inner roundabout is squished because of game limitations but it still works like a anti clockwise roundabout.
There used to be one of those magic roundabouts on the A13, near Canvey Island if I remember correctly. Looking at Google maps, it would appear that it has now been done away with, though the resulting junction still looks like a dog's dinner.
Great video start to finish. My favourites are diverging diamond and turbine. I think the diamond was the most efficient one as well; went into five hundreds. Thanks!
Think of it like a large planetary gear set. The large outside roundabout is going clockwise. The inner large roundabout(which is squished in this case) is going counter clockwise. The small roundabouts in between change the traffic flows direction so they can get on the big roundabouts and out of the interchange
For 4 way in freeways I used to use diverging stack interchange which got score of 601 on level 2 but now I use stack interchange. 672 score on level 2
Why is this video 10 months ago but the thumbnail pics are from real civil engineers video 1 week ago Edit: nvm the windmill interchange just looked so similar.
Rly good video Constructive criticism : if you write text use some kind of background for the letters cuz its hard ro read (or use just red) keep up the good work :D
I’ve actually driven over that diverging diamond shown in Springfield Missouri!
Also it was quite efficient I liked that I could just simply make a left without going through a busy intersection
@@khagemann7462 I despise left turns.

Is that where the Simpsons live?
Real Civil Engineer wasn't lying.
This game has some funky sound effects.

The magic roundabout made my brain scream and cry
There’s one in Swindon in the UK I drove over recently, screamed the whole way over lol

Clicked expecting the clover but found the result to be more accurate.
Oh no I get it now
How has no one talked about how his drawings are so straight and accurate like bruh, my roads all look like wet noodle dancing.
LOL 😂
Trumpet and Diverging Diamond are my personal favorites.
I like those too
10:05 this intersection will be really helpful in my cities skylines world

U-turns are the best ones for me
Might just get this game simply because I'm running low on space and I like this one.

Wow the magic roundabout has the spell required to make my caveman brain explode!

thgis video would be great if it werent for the random black out fades
1: I live near Hermsdorf, Germany.
2: That Windmill Interchange ingame looks... yeah. You know what it looks like.
Looks like a Windmill from 70 years ago
Yeah........
but it kinda also looks like the sw...

Magic roundabout looks cool and confusing.
It looks like windmill was created in Italy in late 20's-30's. It reminds me of something
Yeah.
A no-no thing
(ww2 flashbacks intensifies)
The Windmill Interchange be lookin' kinda * *_S U S_* * NGL
Its not rotated 45 degrees
True
Lmao windmill interchange, more like Germany interchange.XD
You definitely got these from Real Civil Engineer
I watch him too 👍
Be good to look at the distribution layouts like dumbbell etc. in a future video
Hey! Could you please show how you did number 37? 6 way interchanges...
I originally did it as double cloverleaf interchanges, but I also tried out a double diverging diamond setup like this!

Very good and interesting video!
Wish stack interchanges were actually possible to build...
I agree...
@@pineapplebacon777 I just built one using three levels, but it looks atrocious because bridges have to dodge one another xd

I love the trumpet it reminds me of something
Lmao
Roads are waste of space - public transport and cycling and other modes are so much more important
And tell me how public transport and bikes move?
Through roads :P
You're pretty stupid if you didn't know that
Public transport like buses and taxis need, guess what? Roads.
I will be a Freeways GOD.
Windmill interchange : *exist
