I have been using this vitamin c face serum by riceberry littleextra for a few months now, and I'm truly impressed with the outcomes. It's become an essential part of my daily skincare regimen. Over time, the serum has visibly decreased the size of my pores and faded dark spots. It's fantastic for my sensitive skin. One of the best things about this serum is its lightweight, non-greasy texture. It absorbs quickly, making my skin feel refreshed without any oily residue. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants a brighter, more even complexion, especially with the benefits of black rice water. This serum is soft enough even for sensitive skin. After applying the face serum, I follow up with riceberry sunscreen, which contains niacinamide and kojic acid, These ingredients have helped me even further reduce dark spots. Also, doing yoga daily helps maintain my skin's elasticity.
I use it and didn’t get any discoloration nor tingling. I did notice a brightening of my skin. I am 79 and people never believe that I am as old as I am. I am a fan of Cera Vee products and have used them for years.
@@maureendera6440 consistency with the right products and rather than spending 100s of dollars on fancy skincare simple seems to be working better for me, Dr. Dray is onto something with Vanicream and Cerave! I've been using Vanicream exclusively and my skin is soft and smooth, I also use prescription Tretinoin and ALWAYS SUNSCREEN!
I prefer Cerave’s new SPF 30 day cream with encapsulated retinol - it’s done wonders on my acne scars. Today’s the first day in ages I’ve gone into the office without makeup 😊
datGreekgal Hola! I used a benzoyl peroxide wash (first every other day until I got used to it, and then every night) a tried to find formulas with as few “extra” ingredients as possible in addition to the BP to decrease the risk of irritation. I also used the CeraVe SA (salicylic acid) wash on the alternating nights. Both washes I made sure not to rinse off too quickly to ensure long enough “contact time” (Dr. Dray’s tip!) Mornings I used the most gentle cleansers I could find (CeraVe/Cetaphyl), just enough to get off the product and oil from the night before, and then LAYERS of lotion and sunscreen. Dryness is the enemy - those dry cells clump up and cause breakouts. The Trader Joe’s “Nourish” oil free moisturizer i believe was Dr. D approved and inexpensive enough that I didn’t mind really slathering it on, and it didn’t seem to clog any pores. I also took up some craft hobbies to keep my hands occupied so I wouldn’t pick my face anymore (sooo hard to quit!) This was working pretty well (with a lot of time and patience) but I didn’t feel like it was really improving my actual skin, just the condition itself, and one thing I really hadn’t tried before was a retinol. Total game changer! And since it’s in my sunscreen, I can’t forget to put it on! ✌🏻
Anusha San My skin type is combo, and a lot of products feel too “greasy” to me but this actually goes on rather matte and sort of “disappears” quickly in my experience. I’ve read in the reviews for the product at Ulta that people with very dry skin experienced pilling and/or flaking - but this might have been part of the process of their skin adjusting. It’s far from a perfect formula, honestly, but it’s sort of the first of its kind as far as drugstore brands go, so I’m hoping they will improve packaging and make it a bit “creamier” if that makes sense 😆
Hey dr dray! Could you do a video describing your favorite products for people of each decade. 20s,30s,40s,50s,60s etc and give your recommendations for those skin type needs ♥️
Hi Dr Dray, Neuro resident in here. Congrats on your Chanel ! Finally someone who’s speaking the truth, most people watch those famous called “gurus” instead of seeking medical information.
I got pretty good results with this. My before-after pictures show more even skin tone and PIH fading (no other change in my routine). I use it morning and night, and 1 tube only lasts me a month.
I am on my second bottle of the serum. I am 73 years old and it has helped reduce my dark spots a lot. This product was referred to me by my dermatologist. I had just finished the first tube when I saw my dermatologist for an update. I had used the product in the morning and also at night, but when I told this to my dermatologist, she said to only use the second tube during the day to keep my skin healthy. I will probably be done once I finish the second tube. I have a really good friend who is now using the product and it has done wonders for her. So to say the least, I am so glad that you are making a video of this great product so others can find out about it.
I’m glad you reviewed this. I’ve been using it for a couple months to try to help lighten up some hyperpigmentation from old acne scars. I personally have seen a difference in my own skin with brightening. It seems to be helping the scar fading timeline move along much quicker than it usually does without using it.
Same here...I noticed a huge improvement in my skin using it in just a few days!! I must say I am very impressed with the product. I highly recommend it...not sure why Dr.Dre didn't like it 🤷♀️
I have found that vitamin c gives me a nice brightening effect that evens out my pale skin and did reduce fine lines (introduced into my regular skincare routine that had not been addressing it as a straight serum, so no moisturizing additives in it). The one thing I did notice is it increases the speed of healing for things like a scratch or the after effect of a blemish. I tried on the back of my hand and had the same results. That being said, I find there is a difference between serums. Years ago I used the grand-daddy of all modern serums, Cellux-C. It gave results, but oxidized in its dark bottle quickly, even when stored in the fridge (the residence for my serums). My current one is Avene's A-Oxitive antioxidant defence serum, which is supposed to be for sensitive skin, though I have never been bothered by the bit of stinging that can occur with vitamin c serums. The Avene doesn't sting me at all. I only use it on evenings when I don't use Retin A (slowly working myself into an every night regimen) or in the morning.
I had the exact results with Cellex-C. Too bad this brand didn't keep working on research. It was frustrating to see their color change before mid-bottle. Try the one from Ben Fuchs, it's oil based, expensive but seems to be working and you need less drops than Cellex-C or his son Skinceuticals.
I hardly ever comments under videos. However, because how amazing this product worked I had to. I've been using this serum for a month and I've seen an improvement in my hyperpigmentation.
Happy Monday! 🌺 My take away is that vitamin C is good for your skin IF it’s formulated correctly. I tried a vitamin C serum from Sephora that was quite costly. It brightened my face but worsened the dry patches on my cheeks. So far the Cerave products haven’t let me down and have actually improved my cheeks... I dunno I may give it a try. Thanks Dr.Dray for the review!
Using vitamin c with hydroquinone and it stings and make it’s so red and irritating. Definitely seen the discoloration, face turning a little orange. Is the combination adds to more irritation? Would applying only hydroquinone help??
I’m huge fan of LAA . Since I believe 7 or 8 yrs now. I research and use several formulas, to get my HOLY GRAIL! Never differ of stinging, brow spots fade away. Brighten, never get orange cast. My experience is great, never without every single morning after cleansing, on dry skin. Love it! I do really believe that every single active ingredient works differently on each skin. Together with tretinoin at night and Aha and Bha, peptides and ceramide I am really fine with my 66 yts old! Thanks drDray!
What do you use? I got Sunday Riley CEO Glow in a beauty box and was using it just to use it up and have been pleased other than a little offput by the smell.
lalaithan I used at least 10 to 15 different serum and finally LAA mixed fresh every single morning with hyaluronic serum SF two drops of resveratrol +ferulic acid all by the Ordinary! I check ph ever since. The best for me!
It doesn’t shock me in the least that you didn’t notice any difference Dr Dray, because your skin is literally flawless already! I don’t think you have even 1mm worth of visible sun damage on your entire body haha!! If they ever put you into one of the vitamin C clinical studies you’d ruin their data because there is nothing to improve on your skin! 😅🥰
I've been using this serum for almost a month, night time, then I switched to day time. My big brown spot is fading, nothing worked before, this serum is a miracle for me. No burning, no breakouts, no redness, only a minimum tingling sensation that lasts seconds. I'm oily skin. Everyone's skin reacts different to products.
I’ve tried Skinceuticals Vitamin C serum many times and noticed no difference.....it’s so expensive and I always wondered what the big deal is. Cerave packaging makes more sense although I’m not totally sold on it. It’s much more affordable for sure. Thanks Dr Dray!💕🌷💕
Dr Dray omg Dr. Dray, I spend 2 weeks hiking in CO with my uv shield on from Coolibar and loads of sunscreen on ....all underneath a huge broadbrimmed hat! No one even looked at me strangely! I’m so thrilled that I did that. I even wore the shield on my 2 day drive home! Thanks for drilling your knowledge into me!🌸💕🌷❤️
I used up a whole bottle of a very pricey vitamin C serum stabilized with ferulic acid and saw no difference in my skin or brown spots. That was before I found Dr. Dray’s channel. Now I use tretinoin and Azelaic acid at night. My brown spots are getting much lighter. I am also reapplying sunscreen during the day. Thanks Dr. Dray! 😎
Try the Korean brand Klairs Vitamin C serum. It works wonders on me. It faded out most of my post-acne pigmentations and brightened up my skin significantly.
I’m on my second tube using it only in the morning. I also store it in the refrigerator which seems to prevent the orange cast and hopefully stabilize the ingredients. Since it is very affordable, I plan to continue.
Happy Monday Dr. Dray & Subbers, I pray 🙏 y'all have a safe, fulfilling, blessed day & evening. Thank you Dr Dray for sharing CeraVe information with us. Now CeraVe is my go to skin care product line, it's my daily & evening routine, & as you're always telling us, I now use more sunscreen, CeraVe 50 to be well protected! 👍👏👏👏 no skin exposure to ☀️ without it any more for me, thank you! 👍😊. God bless, Robyn
Dr. Dray can you review dollar generals new skin care line it's a dupe for cerave or cetaphil and I was seeing the ingredients and they seem pretty good...the line is called Studio Selection!
I just started using vitamin C serum and noticed a mild burning sensation. I was a little worried about it, just because I normally don’t feel that. It’s good to know that in this case, the burning is common. Thanks Dr. Dray!
Thank you for your videos. It's refreshing to find members of the UA-cam community (especially relating somewhat to cosmetics) who don't fall prey to pseudoscience and marketing rhetoric. Cheers from Canada!
I have been using this product for 2 weeks now for my AM & PM routine. I actually like it because when I massage it on my skin, I can immediately feel the softness of my face. Every time I use this product during my PM routine, when I wake up I noticed that my skin looks radiant. I did notice the discoloration but not directly on my skin but on my cotton pads when cleaning my face.
Whenever I get the urge to buy “that new fancy XYZ skin product I must have because ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ”, I go and watch a few episodes of Dr Dray to slap me back to reality. Thank you Dr Dray 😍🤩
Thanks Dr. Dray (our skincare angel). Your vlog on am/pm skincare for sensitive skin has been life changing for me and I cannot begin to thank you enough for your dedication and service in providing such great information to the public at large. Many thanks and many blessings to you!
Thank you so much. I most likely will not try this Vitamin C serum. It doesn't sound convincing. I feel better served by using a good sunscreen, moisturizer, and Retin A. Have a wonderful day!
I use the L-Ascorbic acid powder from The Ordinary. I have seen amazing results from using this product. I mix it with the Hyaluronic acid serum and use it daily. My skin does tingle just a bit, but I know it is working because me skin is just flawless now. All the hyperpigmentation is GONE and my skin texture is so smooth! I have been using the Hyaluronic acid serum for two years, so I know that adding the vitamin C powder changed my skin for the better!
I do the exact same thing and it miraculously got rid of my redness (pie) in less than a few weeks. I use it morning and night throughout the week before moisturizer. I love it.
I agree that VitC gives little results. I have dark skin prone to hyperpigmentation and I find other ingredients like retinol and AHA more effective. In fact, I think a lot “results” people see with VitC products is due to the presence of other acids in the product. Not to mention that just adding an extra layer of hydration will help your skin repair itself.
Does having a vitamin c powder that u can mix in with hydrophilic ingredients help? Also I’m dark skinned with only texture and hyperpigmentation issues looking to buy from the ordinary and good molecules for their affordability. Can u recommend any actives (except arbutin because I don’t feel comfortable using a bleaching product on my dark skin) for hyperpigmentation? I also use AHA’s but need something that packs more of a punch i guess?
sounds much more affordable than the vitamin c serum I've been using, I think its worth giving it a try! Thank you, Dr. Dray. I usually love all your recommendations and have become a big fan of Cera Ve after watching your vids. :)
I'm not a huge fan of L ascorbic (irritates my skin, breaks me out and results don't blow me away...with exception of Skin ceuticals... it is the only one that doesn't sting but results aren't magical enough to pay that high price...and it also oxidizes fast) But I do have wonderful results with THD ascorbate. I'm assuming since it supposedly goes deeper? Will be interesting to see more studies. BUT the great thing is I have absolutely ZERO irritation with THD, no burning, no acne and my skin really brightens. I love CeraVe products but was kinda bummed about their C serum. And 20 bucks is not drugstore pricing. Drugstore pricing just keeps going up and up. Ok I'm done ranting. Lol. Great video as always! 💜
@@melissac4720 tons of different brands. The ingredients will say "tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate"...here are some I like... Paula's Choice Ultra Light Antioxidant Concentrate Serum, TNS Essential Serum (ridiculously expensive tho), Truth Treatment Systems by Dr Ben Fuchs (not Ole Henrickson Truth serum), Peter Thomas Roth Potent C, Good Face Stuff Glow Peptide Vit C Serum. I know Amazon has more affordable ones BUT I've never tried and I'm sure since they are so cheap, the concentration is very low so not worth trying IMO.
So happy to see this review! I've only tried a few vitamin C serums and the CeraVe product is the only one I've repurchased and have used regularly. It's very smooth going on, no stinging on my sensitive skin. I apply it during my morning skincare routine along with CeraVe's moisturizing cream. I don't know what if anything it's doing for me but I like the smooth texture it provides. That's interesting that you had some oxidation on your skin. I have not noticed that at all......yet. I'm definitely going to try your suggestion of using an SA cleanser first. :) Happy Monday! :-)
I started with Rodan and Fields almost 3 years ago. It really helped my acne but dries out my face. Since watching Dr Dray's videos, I have been slowly weeding out R&F products. Less is more but they really push multimedia therapy. At one point, my nightly routine consisted of 7 products! I'm not knocking R&F just posting what my experience is.
I have been using this serum for approximately one month. I have not experienced any skin discoloration. I think I am seeing some improvement in my acne scarring. I do use this product with the Cerave eye cream and the daytime facial moisturizer with SPF 30. Thanks Dr. Dray for the tip on using a salicylic acid face wash first.
cerave is my fave brand ever! The only additional product I use is an RX tetrinoin...I also enjoy, but can live without, centella by OneThing a Kbeauty brand...it soothes. It is available in the watery toner/essence and also comes in a tube like a light airy moisturizer which will need cerave on top as an occlusive to keep the centella on the skin. I also cannot live without 2-4% BHA for clearing pores, blackheads, etc. BHA is my fave exfoliator. AHA makes my roscea go ballistic so I can only use BHA.I love using different products for fun but only NEED cerave with the ceramides for skin barrier and the retin-a for acne, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and the bha for exfoliation. My skin looks great for a 74 yo. Most ppl think I am in my early 60's. I could live on less money by using only those products...retin-a, ceramides in cerave that has the wonderful glycerine almost always second on the list and bha.. For variety cerave has many products. Why waste money on anything else except silicon scar treatments and the differen scar treatment. Happy as a clam with just these products. Perhaps will try the vit c cerave. To reiterate my skin care: (1)cerave with SA (BHA) (2)retin-a (3)Scar treatment (4)BHA
Yes I tried CeraVe Vitamin C & had to return,it caused me to sneeze all day & my eyes watered all day, appeared as if I was crying.Purchased at Wal-Mart or Walgreens with $3 coupon included from my previous CeraVe product.only paid about $13. Just to use Vitamin C long ago but did stop as like you say they are so expensive.my skin is actually be better since I stopped VitC,in fact since I switched to mineral spf,my sensitive skin Greatly improved ,almost flawless,I think there is skin rejuvenating benefits to the minerals. 🌈👒👒👒🌻🐦
I started using this about 4 months ago for 2 spots of hyperpigmentation and they are both fading. Last week I added Alpha Arbutin to try and fade them a little faster. But so far so good for me. 😊
I am finally able to afford this product just to try it out and she answered every question I had. You are a blessing Dr. Dray. The only dermatologist I trust.
Hi Dr Dray! In case you were interested in trying, I’ve recently discovered the L’oreal Revitalift vitamin C serum that has really changed my skin. I have PIH from a year of cystic and hormonal acne. The product is essential oil free and fragrance free and is so well packaged. I highly recommend for one to try! 💜
Sruthi Sreeram I agree, I really love the L’Oréal vitamin c serum. I have faithfully been using the revitalift hyaluronic acid & i went to repurchase & my local cvs was out of it & I had extra bucks that were expiring so I decided to try the vitamin c serum & I’m glad I did. Ive noticed more visible results in 2 weeks with the vitamin C serum than 3 bottle of the hyaluronic serum. I really enjoyed the L’Oréal vitamin c serum.
I had used a Ascorbic acid product for about two without any great result..mainly speaking on my pigmentation until I started using an oil soluble vitamin C product with it...(Tetraisopalmitate) not only has it faded dark pigment on my face But! also, the huge red blotches on my chest..this concoction worked literally within a few months👍 I wouldn't just use this Cerave C product alone...i am a huge Cerave fan😊 nice review Dr Andrea🤗😊
Yay! Thank you for finally doing this review, I've been using this Cerave vitamin C serum for about a week and a half maybe two weeks just hoping I didn't overlook a bad ingredient lol. But I like it pretty well, I have noticed a small improvement in my darker cystic acne scars, though the effects have seem to plateaued. I use it at night after using Cerave SA cleanser and then layer the neutrogena hydro boost gel-cream and the neutrogena sensitive skin moisturizer on top. (I do wanna say thank you so much for recommending those three products, they have been magical for my skin.) So all in all, I agree with you, I like it. I own it so I'm gonna use it up, and maybe consistency will be key and a boost in hydration never hurt anybody.
My skin hates vitamin c. It breaks out terribly so I steer clear of it. Thanks for the review. I always learn something new from you. Thank you, Dr Dray. Have a peaceful evening. 🐾🐕🐾
*rubs eyes* is this real life? Is Dr Dray using a vitamin c serum? Wow. The sacrifices she makes for us are incredible! Haha! Have a great day, fellow dray babes!
Hi Dr Dray..I’ve been using the CeraVe bit C serum for about 5 weeks…I apply it every morning after my sunscreen… it just seems to brighten…pretty glow….no irritation or discoloration 💕
I recently ordered this alone with the entire cerave purple line. Ulta has it buy one get 50% off and I used drop to do so. Thanks for the tip on that as well. Thank you so so much for the help.
I use Cerave products. I also use Retin A and avoid the peeling by applying my Cerave moisturizer first. I also use glycolic twice a week. I do a double cleanse one being a oil cleanse the second alternating between Vanicream cleanser and Andalou Naturals cream cleanser. The Ordinary makes a powdered vitamin C which you can mix yourself in a vehicle of your choosing such as Hyaluronic acid serum. I am never without my SPF!!!! My question is what are your thoughts on mixing your own Vitamin C such as the Ordinary.
I have been using The Ordinary's vitamin C powder mixed with the Hyaluronic acid serum with great success! The powder comes with a tiny scoop, so I suggest you start with a small amount and build up to more as your skin gets used to it. My skin has never looked brighter and has lost its texture!
@UCVCWvhnqMZGr-hrQ3nPJVrQ I totally agree with you about cutting out steps in skin care routines. I just did the same thing, finding out what products really worked for me, and which ones I could do without. I think we get overwhelmed by all the skin care videos and feel like we have to use all the products. That's why Dr. Dray is such a breath of fresh air! My skin care routines are so simple now, and I am saving a lot of money!❤💐
Here is Dr Dray’s response regarding vitamin C powders in previous Replies: [Dr Dray]: “don’t recommend the powder...all marketing claims and not evidence based”
Dr. Dray, I thought I noticed discoloration in past videos, but didn’t want to ask? I thought maybe it could have been your lighting. Thank you for sharing the truth about vitamin C long ago. You saved me a lot of money and I appreciate that! Blessings and all love to you!
Dr Dray!! 💖 first of all I am so thankful for all of the knowledge you continue to share. I can not express how much my skin has improved thanks to you. So I am getting married in a couple months and I’ve been doing all the steps and using all the products you reccomend.. and I was on the hunt for face masks/ products/ routine to ensure glowy radiant skin for wedding day. I would love to see a video for this and I’m sure others would too!💕 maybe just getting ready for big event skin?? Just thought I would ask🥰😍
I use the Cerave pm lotion for my day and night skincare routine. It’s light and a nice moisturizer and great under sunscreen. I use a different vitamin c serum.
Thank you for these videos. I really have a very low budget for skincare and these videos are so informative and help me spend my money wisely. Also you really look beautiful. Your skin looks healthy and glowing
Super tip to use the BHA wash first to lower the skin ph prior to using the serum. I just ordered the 20% VITAMIN C + E FERULIC ACID SERUM from Timeless. We shall see how that works out for me, I’m trying to help my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. 😊
AHA - mystery solved! At least, potentially. I have used Vit C serum from Timeless for years and have noticed that the hair around my face, especially on the sides of my face is always yellow - like a makeup over-run, despite the fact that I always use a wide headband. Now my hair is grey (I’m 83) , and this fringe of yellow is NOT pretty! Seems this might well be due to the Vit C serum which is like water and precise application is nearly impossible to control.
Josie Maran just debuted a new argan oil serum with Vitamin C. She swears it gets into the skin. And I thought, "we'll see what Dr. Dray says about that!"
She used the vitamin C serum for 6 weeks and noticed no difference... She has no freckles, no melasma, no acne brown spots, no dull skin. What was she expecting from the serum? Mine didn't oxidized, I keep it in the original box, in my bathroom, in a cool and dry place.
she doesnt have to use it on her face.. also if u look at her newest videos she gets hyperpigmentation sometimes and uses a serum to deal with it. she also likes brightening her skin SOMETIMES which is another reason why I dont need to use 3 products with the same formulation but i still do because i like it , dont question others
I really appreciate the detailed information you put out. It makes it so easy to decide if I want to try it or not. Thank you very much for educating me in many aspects of dermatology. You’d make a great professor!😀
The ordinary sells it for much cheaper. Oils like that and jojoba are not as costly as some companies sell them as. In my opinion, biossance is overpriced.
If you're interested in Biossance I must say their Repair Barrier Cream is incredible, its diminished my fine lines under my eyes and made my skin supple all day
Thank you! I’m 56 and have nice skin but the wrinkles are starting to show. I only want to use what legitimately works, and I appreciate your guidance on it.
I’ve used this, definitely got the orange residue. I noticed it on my wash cloth. I have not noticed any difference in my skin’s discoloration and light acne scaring, or really anything for that matter, but it hasn’t made my skin worse. I won’t be buying it again.
Hi Dr Dray, I noticed the reference you put down in the description box are at least 9 year old. Just wondering if there are any new studies. Feel like things change fast in the cosmetic industry. Thanks!
Do you think results may be more pronounced with older, sun-damaged skin? I've been using Vitamin C serums for several years and switched to Cerave after watching this clip. It seems to make a difference for me, but I'm very fair, freckled, older than you, and I've lived in sunny Colorado all my life. My sun damage definitely responds to the Cerave, so it might have something to do with aging skin. Have had no oxidation or tingling with any of the Vitamin C serums I've used. Thanks for your informative vlogs!
I stored this product in a closed non-transparent cabinet away from sunlight and I live in a very dry area. The expiry date of the product is 1-2years away but I noticed discolouration of some the cream mostly around the mouth of the tube. It oxidised super quickly.
My cerave vit c used to sting when I applied in the morning. I took your advice and washed my face with a salicylic acid wash (zapzyt) prior to applying the vitamin c and BOOM, no more stinging when I apply it.
You inspired me to improve my skincare routine. I removed most Olay products and jz retained the Regenerating Serum. Incorporated BP and Tretinoin in my routine and I stopped wearing foundation - jz my skin with sunscreen spf30. Acne outbursts stopped.
Dr Dray ok I was wondering if maybe the % of the ingredients has changed then. Because so many have said they never had issues with the old formula but the new one broke them out. There has to be something different. I’ve never tried it and now scared because so many are hating on the new one.
Great review! ...but I don't understand why you push more HA than VitC, their sizes compare like an elephant and an ant, when it comes to skin penetration, so HA is ways worse. HA feels like moisturising until you wash it off, cheap silicone or petrolatum (not recommending it) would do a much better job. It's so easy to create an anhydrous vitC suspension with lecithin that would deliver tons of nearly 100% active vitC. I personally make it along with reduced glutathione, lipoic acid, Q10, ferulic acid and VitE but I do have a lab homogeniser at home.
@@j1morgan1 I have heard that coq10 is already naturally in the skin and you produce less and less with age a different dermatologist on UA-cam said that it works really good. My main concern is if we're using it would we produce it's less naturally and forgetting it outside but it probably dosent work that way
I use Neutrogena gentil face wash. Then apply my regular serum (no vitamine c) and then my neutrogena advance wrinkle repair you recommended. I do this day and night. @Dr. Dray. In summer I do the same except I use Spf 60-80 sunscreen face and body as a moisturizer. Simple no hassle.
Promised results received after using rice berry face serum I’m excited. My skin is now clear and glowing.
is this a paid comment lol
Such a difference between a doctor, and other youtubers, when research is discussed. Alot of youtubers sound like the cosmetic companies.
True. Dr Idriss and Dr David Lim have really good videos as well imo.
I was shocked when I clicked to get more information on the video and found references for her information. I feel so much more informed
Michelle from Lab Muffin Beauty Science is a cosmetic chemist, her content is great...
I use it and didn’t get any discoloration nor tingling. I did notice a brightening of my skin. I am 79 and people never believe that I am as old as I am. I am a fan of Cera Vee products and have used them for years.
I so much love that you're 79 and still take care of your skin. I'm in my 20s and lazy about skin care cos nothing seems to work for me
I'm going to be 60 in September! My son's friends think I'm his sister! I guess I'm doing something right! SUNSCREEN!
@@maureendera6440 consistency with the right products and rather than spending 100s of dollars on fancy skincare simple seems to be working better for me, Dr. Dray is onto something with Vanicream and Cerave! I see significant brightening also. I really like it!
How long it take to show effect??
I prefer Cerave’s new SPF 30 day cream with encapsulated retinol - it’s done wonders on my acne scars. Today’s the first day in ages I’ve gone into the office without makeup 😊
How did you treat your acne?
What is your skin type? Is it good for oily skin type too?

Hola!
Dray’s tip!)
Mornings I used the most gentle cleansers I could find (CeraVe/Cetaphyl), just enough to get off the product and oil from the night before, and then LAYERS of lotion and sunscreen. Dryness is the enemy - those dry cells clump up and cause breakouts.
The Trader Joe’s “Nourish” oil free moisturizer i believe was Dr. D approved and inexpensive enough that I didn’t mind really slathering it on, and it didn’t seem to clog any pores.
I also took up some craft hobbies to keep my hands occupied so I wouldn’t pick my face anymore (sooo hard to quit!)
This was working pretty well (with a lot of time and patience) but I didn’t feel like it was really improving my actual skin, just the condition itself, and one thing I really hadn’t tried before was a retinol. Total game changer! And since it’s in my sunscreen, I can’t forget to put it on! ✌🏻
Kirsten S. Congrats, I am very happy for you👍
Anusha San My skin type is combo, and a lot of products feel too “greasy” to me but this actually goes on rather matte and sort of “disappears” quickly in my experience.

Does this help reducing porse plz tell I have big large porse all over my face
I’m glad you reviewed this. I’ve been using it for a couple months to try to help lighten up some hyperpigmentation from old acne scars. I personally have seen a difference in my own skin with brightening. It seems to be helping the scar fading timeline move along much quicker than it usually does without using it.
How do you use the serum I feel like I’m possibly not using it in the right order with moisturizer

So far the Avene is working well for me. It's around $50 Canadian so it should be cheaper if you are in the US.
I hardly ever comments under videos. However, because how amazing this product worked I had to. I've been using this serum for a month and I've seen an improvement in my hyperpigmentation.
Thanks for sharing!!

Happy Monday! 🌺
My take away is that vitamin C is good for your skin IF it’s formulated correctly.
:)
What was the product from Sephora?
Sunday Riley C.E.O. Vitamin C Brightening Serum.
I’ve been using it and I think my discoloration has slightly improved. It definitely hasn’t been drying or irritating at all.
Michelle Holloway I never use yours. Read above for my reply on what I use! xoxo
Do you use it in your whole face or just little spots?
@@suziemenard5317 I started just on my brown spot, then when I noticed the difference, I applied it on my whole face.
Me too, my dark spots are fading, no side effects or tingling whatsoever. All of us are different.
Can we apply cerave skin renewing night cream over vit c serum
I’ve tried Skinceuticals Vitamin C serum many times and noticed no difference.....it’s so expensive and I always wondered what the big deal is. Cerave packaging makes more sense although I’m not totally sold on it. It’s much more affordable for sure. Thanks Dr Dray!💕🌷💕
Happy Monday!
Dr Dray omg Dr. Dray, I spend 2 weeks hiking in CO with my uv shield on from Coolibar and loads of sunscreen on ....all underneath a huge broadbrimmed hat! No one even looked at me strangely! Thanks Dr. Dray! 😎
I just ordered Azelaic acid from the Ordinary, your comment has me feeling extra excited!
I got mine from the Ordinary, also. It has taken several months, but really is lightening my spots. Tretinoin is probably helping too. Yay! Good luck!
@@lisagantt9534 oh man, I am pumped! Slow and steady will win the race... Against my scarring 😂💕
Try the Korean brand Klairs Vitamin C serum. It works wonders on me. It faded out most of my post-acne pigmentations and brightened up my skin significantly.
Hi Lisa...do you use Tretinoin and Azelaic acid together or do you rotate? Thank you!
I’m on my second tube using it only in the morning. I also store it in the refrigerator which seems to prevent the orange cast and hopefully stabilize the ingredients. Since it is very affordable, I plan to continue.
Did you see any improvement or irritation on your skin...? Thanks for sharing.

OMG. Yes, this is a great idea. Alzelaic acid + tranexamic acid + kojic acid + retinol + my face will explode?
I am currently using Cerave vitamin c. No problems at this time. I really love Cerave products and so does my pocketbook!
I just started using vitamin C serum and noticed a mild burning sensation. I was a little worried about it, just because I normally don’t feel that. It’s good to know that in this case, the burning is common. Thanks Dr. Dray!
Were you using it on damp skin?

I have been using this product for 2 weeks now for my AM & PM routine. I actually like it because when I massage it on my skin, I can immediately feel the softness of my face. Every time I use this product during my PM routine, when I wake up I noticed that my skin looks radiant. I did notice the discoloration but not directly on my skin but on my cotton pads when cleaning my face.
Does it discolor the skin?

I love it.
Can the poweder get rid of hyperpigmentation and acne scars?
Thanks for being honest about a product, and testing it for 4 months!
sounds much more affordable than the vitamin c serum I've been using, I think its worth giving it a try!
What product has THD?
@@GracefulBeautyWithSheri Thanks so much for responding!❤️

Can i use cerave moisturiser after applying vitamin c serum
cerave is my fave brand ever!
Dr Dray has little love for Vit C. We can tell that it doesn’t spark joy to her! Thanks for your honesty! 👍🏻👍🏻

Sruthi Sreeram
I agree, I really love the L’Oréal vitamin c serum.
Sruthi Sreeram: L’Oreal Revitalift products all contain Fragrance/Parfum. Because of this, I would not use these products on my skin.
Lisa Bafundo do you mind listing the name of the product?
Your skin has gotten so so good, Dr Dray.
Will not be wasting my money on vitamin C , good topic 😊🍁

The Ordinary makes a powdered vitamin C which you can mix yourself in a vehicle of your choosing such as Hyaluronic acid serum.
I am never without my SPF!!!!
My question is what are your thoughts on mixing your own Vitamin C such as the Ordinary.
I have been using The Ordinary's vitamin C powder mixed with the Hyaluronic acid serum with great success! The powder comes with a tiny scoop, so I suggest you start with a small amount and build up to more as your skin gets used to it. My skin has never looked brighter and has lost its texture!

Did you like the Timeless vit C?
Dr. Dray, could you do a review on Olay products. Including classic original Olay cream (pink bottle) and soaps and the new line. Thank you ❤️
Dr. Dray is the real deal when it comes to skincare information! Love your channel and I know I'm getting trusted information ❤️
Great review. I don't plan on purchasing any Vitamin C serums , I keep my skincare routine
basic using less products.
I love piggies!
Mine didn't oxidized, I keep it in the original box, in my bathroom, in a cool and dry place.
she doesnt have to use it on her face.. also if u look at her newest videos she gets hyperpigmentation sometimes and uses a serum to deal with it. she also likes brightening her skin SOMETIMES which is another reason why
I dont need to use 3 products with the same formulation but i still do because i like it , dont question others
recently, every time i watch your vids, i am always amazed by your glowing skin and reminded that i shouldn't give up on tretinoin lol
To be fair though, Dr. Dray, your skin is already perfect so it would be hard for a product to improve your skin
that's why she doesn't use vit c serums. She just likes to test them for others.
I really appreciate the detailed information you put out. It makes it so easy to decide if I want to try it or not. Thank you very much for educating me in many aspects of dermatology. You’d make a great professor!😀
I think ur skin looks much brighter
can you review squalene as an ingredient in moisturizers? I’m thinking about purchasing one from biossance and want to know your take
The ordinary sells it for much cheaper. Oils like that and jojoba are not as costly as some companies sell them as. In my opinion, biossance is overpriced.
@@asideofaioli4630 yes I like the Ordinary one...plus it's cheap
If you're interested in Biossance I must say their Repair Barrier Cream is incredible, its diminished my fine lines under my eyes and made my skin supple all day

Thanks!

I use this and I noticed that it made my pores smaller on my nose 🤷🏻♀️
Dr. Gray you've been a blessing for me eversince now Im doing it for my 3 friends. Thank you so much.
I’m such a science nerd I love hearing from Dr Dray - go science and beauty !!!!!
My cerave vit c used to sting when I applied in the morning. I took your advice and washed my face with a salicylic acid wash (zapzyt) prior to applying the vitamin c and BOOM, no more stinging when I apply it.
Cerave seems to really make good products for the price in general.
You inspired me to improve my skincare routine. I removed most Olay products and jz retained the Regenerating Serum. Incorporated BP and Tretinoin in my routine and I stopped wearing foundation - jz my skin with sunscreen spf30. Acne outbursts stopped.
Many many thanks to u Dr Dray ❤️. Will definitely share ur videos to my friends and colleagues ❤️.
Could you please make a video and give your opinions about the new cerave pm formula and why it might be giving issues to so many.
Mannu E it is the same
Dr Dray ok I was wondering if maybe the % of the ingredients has changed then. Because so many have said they never had issues with the old formula but the new one broke them out. There has to be something different. I’ve never tried it and now scared because so many are hating on the new one.
Thank you, you have just saved me a lifetime of vitamin c serums money! 😉
I would love to see a video of what serums and other products you would recommend for 20 year olds!
I would want to know what you think about q10 serums
Using coq10 supplements for migraine. Research shows it does help with minimising the appearance of fine lines.
I too was wondering about Q10 products. I'm using a Q10 cream at night by Eucerin that's wonderful but does it do any good?
@@j1morgan1 I have heard that coq10 is already naturally in the skin and you produce less and less with age a different dermatologist on UA-cam said that it works really good. My main concern is if we're using it would we produce it's less naturally and forgetting it outside but it probably dosent work that way
@@princelucky7116 Lets hope Dr. Dray can answer the question.
@@sambee7440 it does work
I use Neutrogena gentil face wash. Then apply my regular serum (no vitamine c) and then my neutrogena advance wrinkle repair you recommended. I do this day and night. @Dr. Dray. In summer I do the same except I use Spf 60-80 sunscreen face and body as a moisturizer. Simple no hassle.
