I used Differin gel regularly for months, After two months I seen an incredible change in my acne. Salicylic Acid & Benzoyl Peroxide did nothing for my skin. But by month three of Differin, my skin was very sensitive to fragrance. All of my cleansers & moisturizers were burning & turning my skin red within seconds. That's when I fell in love with the Cerave brand. I was only able to use the Cerave hydrating cleanser paired with either the moisturizing lotion or cream for awhile. I've been off of Differin for awhile now, and decided to try out the resurfacing retinol, I'm only about 3 weeks in and can feel subtle changes in my skin. It feels smoother already, my skin is looking less red, and all around healthier. I'm excited to see what my skin looks like after a couple of months.
You can definitely see the difference in how it made your skin look. The renewing retinol made it look matte and the resurfacing gave it more like a glassy more moisturize look. I personally started off with the renewing but definitely going to switch over to the resurfacing since you recommended in another video is better suited for older adults. Your skin is beautiful

Yes it has gotten rid of my milia. I tried the ROC cream after it and think its too much moisturizer as I notice some tiny milia again so going back on the resurfacing retinol. The ROC also has fragrance and makes my skin itch.

They may have included the chicory root extract merely for texture modification purposes…it is rich in inulin (a gel-forming fiber). Some food manufacturers use it to add a creamy texture to products, so maybe it’s being used that way in skincare too. It has other properties in foods, but not sure if any of those translate to topical applications.
inulin is actually a prebiotic, not used for texture in skincare at all. Inulin dissolves in water to give a liquid texture not gel. It's used in food for the same reason it also has a mild sweet taste so sometimes used in sugar-free bars.

The purple one is $4 more than the resurfacing one at Target right now! I have tried both but I definitely prefer the feel (and price) of the resurfacing retinol.
It's cheaper at CVS. Target has a price-matching policy so, you can show the CVS price to the Target cashier for the purple one ($21.49). The Resurfacing one is $24.49 at Target and $23.99 at CVS. Hope that helps.

Great review! Glad I tuned in. I use Roc Retinol products daily. Can I incorporate the CeraVe Resurfacing Serum @ night along with my Roc Retinol Deep Wrinkle Night Cream? Would love to hear your thoughts!
I started using the blue one at night (resurfacing) after cleansing and after a blemish spot reducing serum (from Neutrogena) and before moisturizing instead of in the AM, and my skin feels so soft in the morning. I think I was sweating it off during the day so results were mediocre but at night, it has time to do its thang.
I used the purple one (before watching this video). Got compliments for my skin after only a month using the purple one - people described my skin as bright, blooming or radiant. I will give the blue one a try next to try to get rid of the dark age spots.
I don't personally find the purple one sticky, it has always gone on smoothly for me and absorbed in nicely leaving my skin hydrated and matte all day. It may be that different types of skin absorb diifferent products better. It's too early for me to comment on longer term effects, for example effects that might be caused by retinol, but I have noticed benefits from the good moisturising properties. My skin looks smoother from that alone. I've just ordered the blue one now to give that a try and see what I like best.
Just came across this video from a google search, was looking to see the difference between these two products (have them open in Amazon tabs prepared to buy right now). This was informative and helpful! Also, wow, you're really handsome ;-)

I just bought the purple one and saw you vlog. 😅 I will just finish the renewing then will buy the resurfing.
Hope you like both products!! Lmk what you think after comparing the two 🙏🙌
So thankful you made this video!!!!
Thank you so much!🙏🏼😊
Really enjoy your channel!!! Keep it up! 👍 Can you make a video on retinol’s for the neck!?
Thank you and great idea!
Thank you! Glad to know that coz I’m using the purple one and didn’t even know about the resurfacing.
Works really well ... my preference is the resurfacing serum

Wish I would have seen this video sooner.. I just ordered the purple one.. I will get the blue when this one runs out.
Thanks for your comparison! Would love to try the resurfacing one when they have it in Canada. They only carry the renewing one here in Canada.
I found certain shoppers finally have it!!
I was able to find it at Walmart. I see that Shoppers and Rexall have it too! :)
Exact video I was hoping to find!
After seeing your previous comparison od Retinol creams, I headed down to chemist warehouse (Australia) and chose a Sukin Biomarine facial serum (hydration)because I could not decide which retinol brand to buy. My request to you is please give a talk on sea algae/ marine skin products. I just love the way they feel.
She's butter breaks me out though . So gonna try the other one. Thanks for the review 🥰

Pea size? Wow. I've been using two pumps every night!!
Same
Me too, that’s the only way I get full coverage
Same
Perhaps do a sandwhich, or blend it in with moisturizer.
Me too
Thank you so much for making this video. It really helps me out. Much appreciated
Thank you Dr Sugai Now will you choose between "Olay Regenerist 24 MAX Retinol" and "CeraVE Resurfacing Retinol" ...which is the better choice for mature skin? I am now using "Adapolene" in the hopes it will help to turn back the clock !!
Adapalene does not have much research evidence at anti aging (collagen synthesis) I was thinking of using Adapalene gel, but then discovered this info. Now looking at Cerave Resurfacing seerum
I joined your channel today. Big thanks, Doctor👍

Love this review and this is exact what I need. Thank you so much for sharing!
🥰 love it.
Thank you doc!!
Thank you!
Thank you so much. I couldn't decide between the two. I was leaning toward resurfacing, and now I'm going to try that one for sure.
Enjoyed. Resurfacing is the one I use and it has been wonderful!
Does it cause irritation when you start using it
@@nawalalariqi5740 I think it differs for every person. I felt a slight burning sensation the first few times but not anymore! It really improved my skin. I pair it with the la roche posay moisturizer.
@@heykiki___ thank you for your reply , please what is the name of the moisturizer of la roche posay
@@nawalalariqi5740 La Roche-Posay Lipikar Balm AP+ Intense Repair Moisturizing Cream~ My dermatologist recommended I put the moisturizer first then let it dry then put a light surface of retinol over the face (avoid eyes and mouth area)! Another channel I suggest you watch is Dr.Dray. She's amazing like Dr. Suagi.
@@heykiki___ Thank you very much
I really appreciate the genuine review.
@lbreja glad I watched this before I purchase a retinol. Thank you!
I recently bought both with no research behind my purchase and I've been using both at the same time before bedtime lmao
The Blue one has been saving my skin. I had bad hormonal ance for 2/3 years. No matter what I did, it wouldnt get better. Now I use 4% benzoyl p wash and this product and its been amazing.
How long did it take for you to see results with the cerave
Great review! Glad I tuned in. I use Roc Retinol products daily. Can I incorporate the CeraVe Resurfacing Serum @ night along with my Roc Retinol Deep Wrinkle Night Cream? Would love to hear your thoughts!
Love your channel brother!!!
The two skincare brands I use are Suave and Aveeno love both!
Thank you, Sean! Glad to hear you found brands/products that work for you!
I LOVE HOW YOU SAY RETINOL.
