Following using rice berry face serum by litttleextrra for three weeks, here's what I felt:
Pros: It effectively softens and evens out the skin, giving it a subtle glow. I've also seen a reduction in my genetic dark circles (avoiding the eye area is recommended). It has also helped diminish dark spots on my sister's skin.
Cons: Personally, I have dry and dull skin, and using the serum every day exacerbated my dryness.
I advise using it three times a week along with a quality moisturizer to prevent dryness. I haven't seen any noticeable improvement in bronzing or pigmentation issues in first 3 weeks.
Update 2 months later: After nearly two months of regular use, I consider it my favorite serum. It has started showing promising outcomes. My skin glows, dark circles reduced, and dark spots faded a lot. So perseverance is important when using this face serum.

I like their Vitamin C. I use their face moisturizer with SPF after and the night cream. I really like the night cream. I use the C daily so go through it.
Wow, I'm glad I watched this I did not know mine was oxidized. I thought the orange color was normal. I appreciate the clear explanation but mainly the side-by-side demonstration.

Thank you, Dr. Daniel, for informing all of us about Vitamin C. It also helps the immune system. I take 500 mg. of Vitamin C, twice a day, with food. Food absorbs vitamins. That's why it's important to take vitamins with food. 💖

Just a note. My Cerave Vit C has never turned orange even after more than 3 months. It is really important to use the cap correctly, as you demonstrated. The tiny cap part actually clicks a bit when you close it completely. When my skin feels irritated from higher percentages, I switch to this.
Neither has mine!
Mine turned orange, i didn't know it was supposed to be white/yellowish before watching this video. My tube still had the white "protection" ring at the screw cap, didn't know we were supposed to remove that.

Vitamin C has made such a huge difference in my skincare routine, even just using a derivative! I work outside for a living, and am out in broad sunlight for up to 12 hours a day, sometimes. This means that I don't want to use ingredients that sensitize me to the sun (like retinoids or AHAs), so the fact that Vitamin C can help fight that damage (yes, I am wearing and reapplying sunscreen!) makes it 10x more useful than a retinoid. I first started using one during wildfire season and saw drastic improvement. I'm excited to try this Cerave one now, because LAA serums are usually out of reach for me, price-wise.

I keep mine in the fridge and it hasn't changed color. I love packaging that protects ingredients. I go to the fridge and put a line of it on my index finger close it up put it back in the fridge and get what's on my finger on my face. ❤️

Thanks for the review! I really like this serum. The only downside I’ve experienced is no matter how tightly I try to close the cap, serum tends to leak around it (thus contributing to the oxidizing issue). I’ve found if I store the tube in an upright position that helps everything stay sealed better. The tube I purchased nearly 3 months ago still looks just as white/clear in color as it did after first opening.

I use the loreal 10% vitamin c serum. I've had a few tubes for months and it never oxidizes.
To preserve that is easy just a sealed glass jar and oxygen absorber packets just add 4 to 5 packets in that will last til expiration date

I will not advise POC to wear any percentage of L ascorbic acid period, especially during the day.
A great and safest form of vit c is Magnesium ascorbyl phosphate.

I just bought this (it’s a light cream color ). I used it for the first time , i stayed in at home since it’s raining in L.A but i notice it turned yellow on my face after 20 minutes i applied it . I made the mistake of applying it under my eyes and ( I applied my cerave eye cream on top ) and 20 mins after my under eyes were very yellow more of an orange color .
Is it okay to use this product if you have other vitamin c derivatives in your routine?

THANK YOU!!! Excellent question - I really wish he would share his opinions on wait times in general for all exfoliants - ESPECIALLY L-AA’s. There’s a ton out there regarding wait times for Tretinoin - my derm and the majority of studies I’ve read all pretty much state one should wait 20 minutes before starting the rest of the routine.
Since I have person experience experimenting with wait time and efficacy of Tretinoin, I have always followed the same logic for all other chemical exfoliants which seems daft considering they all work so differently but I would rather know I’m getting my $’s worth.
I’m open to any comments on what other’s think about wait times. I used to stand by Paula Begoin until the hypocrisies began.
I'm torn between this vitamin c and the roc vitamin c serum, I'm not a beginner to the ingredient. What would you suggest?
Dr Sugai, do I have to cleanse with something other than the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser prior to using the Vitamin C Serum? I heard you need to change the pH of your skin to make it effective. Love your videos!
I believe I read that a face wash with salicylic acid is good to bring down the ph level when using vitamin c. Leave the face wash on for a minute or 2 then rinse. Apply vitamin c serum to your wet face and then follow up with a moisturizer and sunscreen

Angie of HotandFlashy did a vitamin C serum roundup a while back and had her chemist father test the PH levels of the products she chose to review. The CeraVe came up as a 6, which would seem to negate its effectiveness as a vitamin C serum. Any comments, Dr. Sugai?
Lemme’ Tell ya, that fucking idea it’s SO wrong, that only base on the study of JUST WATER + AA(asccorbic Acid), SO ONLY IN THAT SIMPLE FORMULATION THE PH WILL MATTER, do you Know penetration enchancers?, that one of cerave has a LOT of those, Hope you Can read and understand studies before Act like you have a PHD

Kiel's has a vitamin C eye cream as well, I looked at the ingredients and they are different from each other; so it's not repackaging of the same product. I'm wondering if I decide on Kiehl's if I could just use the face serum for my undereye as well. I wasn't too impressed with Kiehl's midnight eye for puffy under eyes. I read that there was a topical cream in the works called XAF5 by Topokine Therapeutics that was undergoing clinical trials for underage bags about a year ago, but nothing since.

I love the CeraVe Vit C serum.. unfortunately a recent skincare / science information blogger who is totally into testing products for their true % has recently indicated that the CeraVe product had less than even 5 % actual Vit C in it?? I don’t really care as I love the product and now I alternate it with the neutragenia Vit C (20%) capsules.. thanks

So, can you please review brands like "Rivaj, Garnier, Ponds etc" ,which are actually more affordable in these countries. That will be a great help.
