I was given up for adoption when young and found my birth family later in my life. My parents never married. My mom committed suicide and my dad had many women besides his wife. I never got to meet them but did meet their siblings and it is such a wonderful feeling to have all these questions answered. I feel it is their loss that they never wanted to know me. it's honestly not that great. You don't know about half of your identity and most of the time you never meet your siblings. Not opposed to donors however what is to keep these half siblings perhaps hundreds from marrying each other by accident. They would have to be worried about that for the sake of their off springs. Especially using the sperm for hundreds of babies from the same donor, rather scary to not keep track of donors for the sake of those future children. There does need to be some record keeping and organizing. Should be a law to keep track of who donors are. Very necessary.

I was given up for adoption when young and found my birth family later in my life. My parents never married. My mom committed suicide and my dad had many women besides his wife. I never got to meet them but did meet their siblings and it is such a wonderful feeling to have all these questions answered. I feel it is their loss that they never wanted to know me. So happy for you all. Enjoy. Let the past get behind you.

it's honestly not that great. You don't know about half of your identity and most of the time you never meet your siblings. I, fortunately, did get to meet mine, but I see them once a year as they live very far away and I don't actually get to bond with them. It's also strange when people ask you how you exist.

It is completely unethical to have that many donations, in my opinion. There's no shortage of sperm, and that many people related to each other in one area is problematic.
Before marriage it'd be prudent to have DNA tested if there's an awareness of being a donor or adopted child.

I love that men are willing to donate their sperm for families especially if they want to have biological children. I just wish that they would be allowed to know who the donor father is. This will prevent any accidental incest or inbreeding going on. That sounds weird but if there’s a lot of children from one donor, they might not know they are half siblings. Other than that, I believe it’s an amazing gift to provide for a family.

At least he was donating his sperm to couples who were really in need of help. Some of these couples were infertile like one case where both of them couldn’t make babies. To judge him for jerking off in a cup? You guys are so immature. Think about all those biological fathers out there who really made those kids who ended up being left or abused. This man gave life to these kids. He might not “fathered” them but he still brought them into this world and gave the couples hope. Most of these kids ended up growing in very loving and caring household.
