The prices are ANYTHING BUT CHEAP !! Just take a trip there and SCAN THE MENU , SELECT SOMETHING AND THEN SEE WHAT YOU GET ! There's a 90 % chance you WON'T THINK you got your money's worth !!
I managed a small restaurant with a breakfast menu and we used bagged, already scrambled real eggs. They were very tasty .One person said they tasted like "country"eggs. They were inexpensive, convenient and had the advantage of not worrying about getting eggshells in the food.
We just recently ate at IHOP because I had a coupon. Their prices has gotten so expensive that will be the last time. 2 adults was 40.00 and then there was the tip. Breakfast food are one of the cheapest and easiest to prepare they are double or more than Denny's or Village Inn. They are the most expensive place around. Food takes forever to get and it usually Luke warm with way overcooked bacon.
I haven't been to IHOP in over two decades - don't miss it. If I want a great breakfast (that I didn't make) I will go to the local mom & pop and get a great meal at half the cost and none of the presevatives.
yep. Small mom and pop diners are the best. And, your dollars stay in the local economy. With the pandemic, service at the chains suck. Not at mom and pops, though.
IHOP makes a profit from specializing in breakfast.. IHOP does not use substitute eggs. Prescrambled eggs in bulk are used. Breakfast items are the cheapest items when it come to food. They are ingredients from a farm that can be produced on mass. The highest cost item is meat. With that being said the main meat used is pork. Pork is about 1-2 a pound being by far the least expensive choice when it come to meat. With all of those items combined with large profit margins and high turnover customer rate during morning hours equals success.
Yeah, some of this video is a bit incorrect, especially the eggs. Eggs doesn't have much in the way of substitutes. It's just prescrambled eggs in a bottle.
It wasn't that bloody cheap when me and my family went there several times over the last 3 weeks, during our holidays in Orlando and New York. At least $50 each time.
Liquid eggs are real eggs. (Same goes for asking for egg white only dishes. Those come in containers.) The advantage is that they too cut down on prep time - no cracking and then scrambling or cracking and separating. They're not cheaper just go to any supermarket and compare the prices between a carton of eggs and a container of liquid eggs.
Also by adding pancake batter their omelette's are no longer gluten free... Many hotels do the same thing... As someone with celiac sprue (gluten intolerance) guess how I learned this fact...
In all fairness, IHOP's menu states on their omelet page that they use pancake batter in the omelets, so if you are keto, or low carb, specifically request eggs only/no batter in your omelet. As for maple syrup. most families are not buying real maple syrup for home consumption either. Log cabin, Mrs. Butterworth, and the like are not maple syrup. Real maple syrup is sold in much smaller bottles for a much higher price. The consistency of the real stuff is very thin as compared to these imitation brands which are thicker, stickier, and way sweeter because of all the many different kinds of sugar/sweeteners.
My sister absolutely loves IHOP so we usually grab breakfast there whenever we're out shopping, if it's my turn to pay it's generally less than an hours wages for the two of us with drinks and tip. Can't beat it.
I ordered Chicken fried stake to go at IHop.. It tasted like it was loaded with Flavor enhancing Chemicals. I couldn't eat more then 3 bite's before becoming sick. $17.00 wasted for something I wouldn't even feed to my dog. I could have don better buying frozen food at the grocery store for $5.00 I will never eat at IHop again if Corporate keeps buying substandard food like this for it's restaurants to serve to it's customers. Never again not even one Pancake, My Trust in IHop is gone. Over priced and substandard food. BEWARE. I did save the stake thinking to mail it to corporate so they can eat it.
Ya me and two friends went some time ago and as I remember it we 45 dollars for the bill. Not cheep BS, I never went back. By the way we did not get steak.
IHOP in Seattle is very expensive $$ definitely not worth it...I love IHOP but of it's priced like upscale breakfast then the quality should reflect the price.... I'm so done with IHOP 🙅🏾♀️
I suggest you do more research to be accurate in your claims. And who wants to pay $2 more per meal? Also you did not factor in that waitstaff also earn tips, sometimes 20%. Plus the restaurant is generous with staff meals. It did seem to me that you were demonizing them without cause.
International House of Pancakes markets their brand around the pancake, yet their pancakes are about as bad as it gets. There is lot better restaurants for pancakes!
Really? Then why does it take so damned long to get your food when you eat there? Especially noticeable with the coronavirus restrictions and very few people in the restaurant.
Cheap? WTF? IHOP has never been cheap. $7 bucks for a couple of 16 cent eggs (IHOP's aren't even real) and a $25 cents frozen hash brown pattie. Breakfast chains have the highest profit margins in the entire restaurant industry.
Cheap? WTF are you talking about? One potato costs $4.79! $15 for 5 pancakes and one potato is NOT CHEAP! Garbage food that used to be good 5 years ago.
How the heck OLD is this video? "Breakfast Sampler" for $3.95??? The Breakfast Sampler at MY local IHOP in 2022 is $14.79!!! To me that is FAR from "so cheap"
I see nothing really wrong with iHop here. So you get what you pay for. Not news. And none of the substitutes are harmful. Pure maple syrup contains lots of sugar, right? And is lots of sugar good for you? No. So do what I do... skip the syrup entirely.
What do you think of the food at IHOP?
love their food but i dont think they are cheap at all
The prices are ANYTHING BUT CHEAP !! Just take a trip there and SCAN THE MENU , SELECT SOMETHING AND THEN SEE WHAT YOU GET ! There's a 90 % chance you WON'T THINK you got your money's worth !!
Thinking the same thing. What ihop have they been eating at? Cheap my rear end!
I was thinking the same thing. A stack of pancakes $8 fuck that I'll make my own lol
@@uspaint Yeah their pancakes AREN'T EVEN THAT GOOD !! They're RUBBERY ; not FLUFFY !

Last time I ate at IHOP it was not cheap. That was20 years ago
$20 for an omelette is not cheap
Things have changed since I worked at IHOP.. Early '80s, Daytona Beach.. Good days..!
Still is. I am in the Shores. Salt life rocks.
I checked IHOP pricing recently. Definitely NOT cheap. Especially because of Covid. Denny's is NOT cheap either. Nothing is cheap, NOT even fast food.
IHOP around where I'm from is almost $15 a plate, wouldn't call them cheap lol.
Cheap? Cost nearly 40 bucks for two of us for a damn breakfast lol
It wasn't that bloody cheap when me and my family went there several times over the last 3 weeks, during our holidays in Orlando and New York.
At least $50 each time.
So little money, they ain’t that cheap you get the country star music on with the girl at the tip to be the 20 bucks there is your $20 omelet
the cakes look so delicious love the rich cuisine you share I'm a fan from vietnam 😋🥰🥰

Liquid eggs are certainly eggs. They just come pre cracked and sealed. The syrup is the same at every diner that doesn't call it Maple.
So cheap? What are you talking about? They are so expensive

They are not cheep. This women doesn't know what she's talking about. 🙄
163 an hr? Where do they pay that? Not here in Virginia. Why I always leave a healthy tip if I receive good service.
Dehydrated food actually doesn't need preservatives
Breakfast is the most profitable item on any menu
"Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.."
"Ovaltine?"
"A crummy commercial?"
some of the dehydrated hash browns are quite good
I'm waiting for our local IHOP to open 🙂
Huge portions for so little Money what are you talking about.. IHOP is the most expensive Breakfast franchise.
My sister absolutely loves IHOP so we usually grab breakfast there whenever we're out shopping, if it's my turn to pay it's generally less than an hours wages for the two of us with drinks and tip. Can't beat it.

Tips aren't wages, so they don't count. But yes, some of the info in this video is flat out wrong, the egg one for example.
Personally it's good chow, 👍👍👍
iHop ain’t cheap and Denny’s is way better !!!
My $15 Chicken and Pancake plate isn't cheap.
