That’s because your muscles are weak or even athrophied from lack of use. Standing (unless is a torturous amount of time) should not hurt. It’s fine if you wanna work while sitting down, but do not neglect your health. Start with 5 minutes a day, and work your way up to at least 30 minutes, but do exercise a bit, your future self will thank you.
That’s basically how I started too when I began getting into digital art. I used an iPod Touch 4, which was the only kind of “computer” I owned at all at the time. It was a small device, but it got me going.
Dude, 22 is young af lol. Your early to mid 20’s are literally the prime of your physical life. After 30 on the other hand, you’ll start to notice a difference.
He needs to see a medical professional as someone that is 22 with back issues, need to sort it out. I am 55 and I expect back issues. I have a few, but hey, I am 55, not 22.
A happy day is when I can hear Sam's voice :D Love your art and your way you use to teach us and share with us your knowledge. Keep doing a great work as always.
Anyone else 30 years old watching this? When he said "you know when you hit 22 your back just aint the same anymore..." haha - Great video Sam - stay humble!
this actually feels achievable to me atm unlike some of the other stuff I've seen. thanks for sharing! I'm heavily considering getting an arm mount for my pen display
Your setup looks very clean and i love that its mostly black and white. Its so nice that you value your health so much that you buy youserlf a nice Table. I think everyone is so focused on buying an expensive graphictablet, but your just gonna rock that whole place :)
your setup is so smart, especially how annoying it can be with a laptop on the side and going back and forth with your hands while you can do it with a keyboard with shortcuts in front of the tablet, your giving me ideas to use one laptop for this and the other for that which makes things so much easier
"Once you hit 22 your back ain't the same no more" If you can't afford a standing desk, have breaks in between work. Walk around the house or your room, stretch from time to time, grab a glass of water or something. I'm hitting 31 and I'm fine.
Not a single dislike as it should be. Why would people even dislike your video.i bet they have no reason and they are just jealous of how brilliant you are!!!!
i just got a standing desk a couple months ago and it’s really the best. tbh i thought just corporate office space is where you can have one and i had this massive “MY MIND IS OPEN” moment when i was like wait.... i can buy one for myself at home... i’m a programmer and graphic designer so i basically live in my home office space lmao so it’s great to see how others set up their area. i’ve recently started making it more comfy and easy for me to be there long periods of time
Hopefully, someday I will gain the things you have earn too. For now, I only have a phone which I mainly use for digital painting, and my finger as a stylus. It's a struggle... But I'm surviving😅 Thank you for your tutorials Sam!🙏🌼🌱
I actually own the cintiq pro 24” and the black standing table and i love them. My back really benefits from it. Expensive but a good investment towards my dream career.
Omg your space is very minimal. And thank you for introducing the standing table i really need that 😭😭 my back, neck, and shoulder pain is stopping me from drawing 😭
you know, following your Instagram for some time and I only noticed a UA-cam link today. and then now knowing you are only 22 completely blew my mind. How talented you are for someone at such an age, I can only imagine MORE amazing work we will see look in 5-10 years... 🤯
An old friend used to do artwork for the big magazines in the 50's and he recalled that he worked in a large studio with over a hundred artists in one room...Guest what? There was not ONE chair to sit on....He related, that when you're on your feet you THINK. When you sit you are less productive. End of story, but the beginning of no back pain.
Yeah 😭 I'm going on 22 and it literally feels like a switch has been flipped and now my back and neck hurt so bad when I hunch over..... it wasn't always this way
I wish more people did this with their tablet, depending on the tablet some have vesa mounts- which is a standard so you can get something like an Amazon Basics arm and attach your tablet to it so you can move it to where you have better posture or out of the way so you can free up desk space for gaming or whatever you need to do. Way too many people are hunching over their tablet and destroying their back/neck
I just got a iPad pro and pencil for fun. I don't want to make a living off painting so that's good enough for me. But this is a really nice clean set up. I dig it
Thank you for the desk recommendations! I need better posture support and something strong enough to hold my 24" cintiq (with the heavy stand.) This honestly looks like a great option, and If I go with it I'll make sure to use your link.
my setup is tiny, im in like a small closet with a square desk, but im saving up for a desk so i can buy it when i move in a few months into a bigger house, also for a big pen display thats not as expensive as the wacom i would recommend the huion 22 series or the 24 pro they are both really good and not that expensive, the 22 series is only 500 us dollars, and the 24 pro is 800
This is so inspiring to think that one dat I may have an art studio like this ❤ I already have a desk but yeah back pains hit a lot, and I'm almost 21 😂
i had a 2019 MacPro i7/16gb ram. Used it for my motion graphics classes at university. 14 months later the battery inflated and destroyed some internal compenents. Moral of the story...use render farms for big projects to alliviate some of the headaches design students already have.
I started out using my smartphone and fingers as stylus then upgraded with a $1 stylus pen. haha and now I got my first tablet which is a HUION HS64 to partner with my Good Old Xiaomi phone and I got a phone stand too haha.. Got my funds from a commission that paid me $100 last month, my highest commission ever! And I also just edit my videos using KINEMASTER. All done using my phone! haha I hope One day I get to afford your Setup..
The new M1 Macs are quieter and cooler, but if you want longevity I would recommend any laptops with a Ryzen processor, a general rule is anything with a GPU will chug through battery life, only option it if you plan to do 3D works
Question Mr. Sam! What kind of printer do you use to print out your work? I'm trying to figure out what printer to invest in but there are so many options to choose from.
i get this feeling of ''glad i didnt stick to cintiq and went intuos instead'' , electric desk, ergotron, 4k cintiq... a fortune and it still isnt enough, he really needs to get a good chair and probably some form of routine exercise (for life) for sore back/neck and muscles. just hope the eyesight doesnt gets bad and you have to get closer to the screen, its going to be even worse. all because he choose a drawing screen instead of a screenless drawing tablet. i did too, but i choose to ditch it and went back to screenless. i spent my hard earned money on a good L shaped desk and a expensive chair instead.
Didn't know Sam worked without a desktop PC. That older macbook seems to hold up in terms of processing power! Still would recommend a computer but it is a bit difficult with the raised prices of computer parts.
I could never standing while I'm drawing and that's why I'm a shrimp.
Its okay we love and welcome shrimp here
@@samdoesarts Thank you Sam, I appreciate 🥺
Yea I have to sit in order to draw because standing hurts my legs after a bit

@TamakoTakuArt I guesss u could say you can’t *stand* standing up while you’re drawing :))) 😭
hmmm as an artist who uses his finger as a stylus and only his phone to draw on digitally, I would say your ser up is good enough....
Same here😅💪 I use my finger as a stylus too😅 And a phone for digital painting🤟

Did he said it's not enough
