  • I originally had the 2amp charger that came with the Cube Stereo eMTB, and pre ordered the 6amp fast charger, since then I have received a 4amp (see previous videos), so this video is a test of the 4amp vrs the 6amp fast charger from Bosch.
    I hope you find it a helpful video, please give it a thumbs up and subscribe if you haven't already!

    Have watched another one of your vids and they are good. The 625wh battery is just over 17 amp hours so a 6 amp charger should be able to charge a battery is under 3 hours. Overnight charging is usually fine with me but on a three day tour in tough conditions I wished I could have had 6 amp charging at lunch time. The 6 amp charger is 1 kilo and the 2 amp is .6kg so there is a bit of a weight difference if you are carrying your charger on a tour. Cheers.

    I got the 2amp changer with my Whyte e150 ,it's very slow , with the prices of ebikes you would think that the fast changer would come with the bike ! Good video

      Same with electric unicycles, some wheels are 2400wh...and they come with a 1.5amp charger!!

    Really enjoyed these videos on your experience with the ebikes, helped me with my recent purchase. Might be worth noting that if you have the time it’s always better to charge on the lower amperage, this will help the life of the battery as constant high charge rates can significantly shortened battery life.

      Not ever had an issues in regard to charge rates (got 2 EV's in the household an also many electric unicycles), but what I tend to do is 1 in every 5 charges do a slow, seems to have got me through all these years :) Which bike did you go for in the end?

      @@RealLifeGadgetReviews Thanks for the reply, I'm 61 so a mountain bike was out of the question, decided on the Cube Katmandu with the 625 wh battery. I'm really impressed with it and don't regret the purchase one bit.I didn't know what to expect but its passed all of my expectations .It seemed a bit heavy at first but now used to it.

    Nearly bought one after seeing your videos but bought a Focus Jam 6.8 nine. Hopefully it will be as good as your Cube.

    Just bought Cube Reaction Hybrid Sports bike.. Only came with the 2A charger.. what times am I looking at for a full charge mate? 6 hours? You reckon it's worth paying the £120 for the 6A charger? Still haven't ridden it yet as the seat post is a little too high for me.. Have to shave off an inch a so I reckon.. I never expected the bike to be this heavy ha.. How many miles you reckon will get on this battery? thanks

    I have 6a charger and use it only when I am on a trip like 200km+ daily (normally 2a charger to protect cells). Normally spare battery is enough but with longer trips this charger is amazing. 1,5h in McDonald (which for super long trip this 1,5h is like nothing 😁) and I have extra 80% of 500wh battery.

    Hi dear friend
    I wanted to ask you about the electric bike?
    What is the name of the bicycle, the type and model of the bicycle?
    Because I want to buy a bike like you

    one problem though, when you use 6 A to always charge , battery life drops down to two years, so, fast charging should be only for emergency, or long trips, or if you don't care.
    new battery for 625 Wh would be 720 EUR

    • @RealLifeGadgetReviews
      @RealLifeGadgetReviews  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah dont care, its under warranty, and 6amps well within design and function. Also under warranty. Thankfully its all bosh components! Doubt I will see much degradation based on prior experience with these type of things. Will report back if there is!

    I charge my powertube 625 off the bike and notice it stays on flashing 5 bars, should it go to a solid 5 bars? It seems to be flashing on 5 so not sure if that's just reached 5 or totally full. I don't have kiox display so hard to see exact percentage

    Halfway through video was going to say would like to see from dead.... Bingo.... Well done for reading our minds.
    Not good to use fast charger all the time, they stress the battery, use your 2A if not waiting for battery to be full, heat damages them and they get pretty warm at higher charge currents

    Do you know how to get the 6a charger to work in the United States? I have a Bosch ebike that I would like to use it on, but I know the charger is 220-240 volts, not 120 like I would need.

    hey , the 6A has 5 pins connectors and the 4A has 3, does it mean something or it is not problem at all, because my bike has 5 pin connectors and i planned to buy 4A and they only come in 3 pins connectors.
    Thanks.

    Hello I bought fast charge 6A.I have 500W battery. After it charged,it is shown on display range on eco mode is 182km.
    I always charged on 2A it showed range on eco mode is 92km.
    What do you think is that a problem with a battery or not?

    • @yanovitskysergey3258
      @yanovitskysergey3258 Рік тому

      Not really. The calculation of range is quite weird. I use 4amp for 625 it's varies from 85 to 120 km. As usual on flat trail and 625 battery 1 battery point on display is for 10 km.

    Are all e bike chargers the same or do different bikes have different chargers

    • @RealLifeGadgetReviews

      Different bikes tend to use different chargers - BUT if they are Bosch like this one then they are highly likely to be the same

      Strictly speaking you cannot drain your battery that far, because as far as I know, the ebike will stop using power when it reaches a critical point.

      If the consumer can, it will happen, think laptops, cell phones, cameras, speakers, vehicle batteries, all will be run down to the battery limit. So if the engineers didn't limit that from wrecking the unit, their warranty claims dept would make force them. But read BOSCH's website as evidence, " In an ADAC test carried out in autumn 2015 a Bosch eBike battery was fully discharged and recharged 1,515 times before it retained only 30% of its original capacity and was no longer of any real use".
      So it appears the testers got not only Bosch's 500 cycles but 3x that.
