- Welcome back to Space Engineers Survival 2024! It's time to liftoff from our base on Europa and fly to space in search of Uranium! While we're at it, it wouldn't be a bad idea to set up a little ice mining outpost up there. In this episode, we go from planet to space and set up shop on a nearby asteroid!

Any Asteroid base should be called the coffee bean.
1:07 missed opportunity for “Barista’s Pride”
Andrew keeps saying "ice" instead of "iron" so the space base should be called "The Ice Latte"
Instead of docking the Pride tail first (main thruster toward the asteroid), it may be easier to dock by flipping her on her side (pylon towards the asteroid).
That's a good point, I think that would be easier. Thanks for the tip!
Finally some episodes in space! :D
You could setup a script that stops the srills if the tanks are above 90% and start them beneath 30% or something like this. :3
That's a good idea!
All caught up, now i need to wait like a common pleb. xD
Finding Ore is a slog in space, sure you can retrofit a large detector on the ship, but take a look at the radio spectrometer script, it’s super handy. You toss a pb on, an lcd, and detector in the direction unobtrusive (which you already have) point your ship toward a rock in the far off distance, and read the graph. The graph gives you an idea of what is in the rock.
I support the idea about the radio spectrometer script!, it's nice! :-)
I will third this idea! Makes hunting for ores in asteroids so much better.
For someone that did all that right-click mining on your main base you seem to do a lot of searching for ice 😜
Those four asteroids would look great if you linked them together with a cross-piece with a base in the middle.
Hahahaa true, its a little ironic that I settled near ice coming from an entire planet of ice!
You should put a big reactor on the Sandstorm.
Also, since you have small mining ships [one of them is already on the Sandstorm] you can go crazy mining there on your uranium asteroid.
4:00 I recommend repla I g the straight conveyors on the side of the cockpit to small 1x1x1 cargo containers, they can hold alot of components
It would be nice to see the Sandstorm get repaired
13:38 I recommend turni9ff the large hydrogen thruster, and maybe large ions for asteroid review, that way you don't burn through hydrogen for short bursts, as well as grouping your backward thrusters so you can coast
Yeah, you're really gonna want to make a full-scale Refinery in space for the uranium- the unmodified yield of Uranium ore is *1%* by weight.
I’ve always found the ore detector range painfully low on small ships, I typically use the world settings mod to increase the range multiplier to 3x
It really is. I think its the same range as the drill which seems weird. Even the large grid range is not very far.
I have aweful luck with uranium and finding ice in space. [watches farther into the video] Oh damn found both....
Resourcenodes mod allows you to get ores and ice without removing any voxels wich means maybe infinite ores
@andrewmangaming ,
Maybe create a program block and button to tell the drills to stop when % full is reached, and a secondary button to stop the drills and pistons as well.
had to switch accounts to watch sadly but otherwise great video, and great series so far! cant wait for more to come!
Connect the solar towers with connectors to the tunnel so that the grid isnt collossal
I love your videos
Hey Andrew, I love the videos so much that I decided to get the game myself. I was wondering if you had any tips for a new player. Keep up the great work man
That's awesome! For new players, Space Engineers can be a little daunting since there is a learning curve. But keep at it and you'll have fun!
@@AndrewmanGaming that’s what it’s looking like. I’ve been watching a bunch of videos on tips and tricks for new players but everything that I’m finding is using PC controls so i don’t know what it would be on ps4. Are there any DLC’s that you recommend i should get?
Are you able to create a shuttle service to take supplies between the asteroids and the base like you have set up with the PAM.
16:35 Are you quoting Supertramp? :D
why dont you hollow out the asteroid and make it a full blown base with hangars inside and patrolling defence drones around the perimeter
Bro I got idea make base ship ( I don't know what its called but I'm okay) when you want explore a planet or anything to make sure you don't want lose lot of time you can build it on medium or small size that can help you have little base can help you survive it got solar panels a big refinery me bay and these stuff
And pine this because I want other guys give add they idea to this
Have you given thought to a PAM ship that can automatically get you new Uranium from space down to the planet?
That would be cool! But also a pain to reset when needed lol
@@AndrewmanGaming surly that one deposit you found would last pretty long if you do another mining station on it
If it's just a patch of ice then solar, if it's alot hydrogen engine
EARTH
I just got this game on ps4, and i can not read the tiny text to play it. Do you know of any setting that would increase ui font size?
I'm not sure on PS4. Maybe there is a mod on mod.io that can do it? Otherwise you could try changing your screen resolution to see if that helps.
