This is absolutley crazy. It looks so cool and fits the game so well. Would be amazing if something like this was in the main game. Or even in the next one. Can you imagine how sick this would be? It is already amazing! I beg you guys release this to the workshop. I would love to try and make some cool shipyards which can print out ships like this. Again 10/10!
Oh this is just so very awesome! I can't wait to build a shipyard/ship-printer with laser builders like this! This is awesome dude! What a great mod for SE!!
Even if the tools end up being more performant then standard tools there are still limitations to them x number block will eventually cause sim issues.
But this is fully possible to do actually. They could script a controller that delegates projected blocks to linked drones with a seperate drone script that receives target info projected blocks. And also go home and restock if the block they are welding arent completed. So essentially have a list in drones pb to fill drone inventory and then after a set docking time return to block it was welding. If there is no buildable block left return to base. Its a big script but possible to make.
Huh. It can weld even on the opposite side of the ship, meaning obstacles don't stop the beam. It works in concert with other beams and SEEMS to only weld one block at a time, albeit about as quickly as a normal welder would, giving a very rapid-fire feel to the welding. I wonder how well this plays with the sim speed? I know how prone to lag spherical welders are when they're trying to weld every block in range at once, ESPECIALLY the infamous tiered tech welders; would I be correct in surmising these are a bit less laggy? If so, they'll find welcome on LOTS of servers if they haven't already. Needing a rotor and a hinge to make them work though...hmmm. That might very well cancel out some of the lag advantage. Still a fascinating alternative though.

Not ready yet 2 weeks to a month before any release can happen. More time to complete and balance the mod. While also giving the ToolCore framework to be improved.
@@raidfire85 Looking forward to it. Does it contain only welding functionality or Grinding and Mining too? I particularily love mining lasers and it would be great to finally have a working mod for them again.
@@Bitt3rh0lz The OmniTool your seeing is Dual mode OmniBeam it has two mode welding and grinding. Seperate block drilling. You can see the drill in one of the other videos.
@thejanadianking6122 Yes you can easily do that. You would actually only need one. Drones, Fighters aka small grid goes pretty fast with this one. Let me actually make a video where ill show how fast a 1 OmniBeam does a smallgrid fighter.
@woodoodx Just search of Omni on the space engineers steam workshop after th 10th of april and it should be there. I currently dont have any confirmation on if the automation script will be fully ready tho as its created by a third party(a scripter i contacted) But the mod will be atleast. Its currently in the testing/balancing stage for MP usage. Also eventually the mod pack will get a special turret type of tool when the framework ToolCore supports it fully(Meaning when all the bugs are ruled out)
Mod isent ready. And ToolCore isent there yet. So im predict 2 weeks to 1 month before i release the mod and the automation script. Gives me time to perfect models and settings on them also for balance. The main point of the tools is performance.
It doesnt. Thats a seperate diffrent block. Its in one of my videos. Its pretty simple i made my mod for multiplayer servers. Cause it would be hard setting a block limit in an all in one block. OmniBeam X-1100 Weld/Grind Modes. And OmniAurora X-2200 is the laser drill.
@aurelienbernard7745 The main diffrence is fully custom unique models doesnt reuse any from the original vanilla welder models and other models. The mod will be called Omni Corp: OmniTools on release. Also mine is alocated towards performance because im customizing them towards multiplayer servers/nexus servers. Also mine will have a script released when the mod releases that is paired with OmniBeams to auto ship printing its an ingame script you put in your programmable block. The OmniBeam X-1100 is a dual mode tool that can both grind and weld. Seperate animation and beams/lasers for each mode on the OmniBeam. The release in 4 days will consist of OmniBeam X-1100 Dual Mode tool(Weld/Grind) OmniAurora X-2200 Drill(Its in the OmniTools your playlist) And i paired a standard oredetector with the drill with its own custom model and its called OmniSpecter Ore Mapper X-1500. One of the videos in the OmniTools playlist will show you all 3 blocks. Currently the Auto Printing script is only paired with the OmniBeam and most likely wont work with any other tool. Since the script was made based on the OmniBeam.
@@sjdarknight It works like any other tool. There is a fixed tool in the mod but also a turret tool. If your wanting to use the fixed tool for auto printing youl have to get the script linked in my mods description. The script mod workshop page tells u what to do
Quick question but could you put these on one ship and as long as another ship has a projector of its self. Could it repair or build a ship in transit?
@demonoftheweb Well yes. But not with the script and automation of printing the ship. Also the script needs a couple of things like rotor+hinges that the tools mount on. The script controls each arm that aims at at projected blocks. So the projector, rotors, hinge, tools have to be on the same grid. Other then that you would have to do it manually if your doing it from diffrent ships.
@Leaf-ps9ds No not really not until the full release the 10th april. Tho currently it hasent worked with any other ToolCore tools ive tested so far. The script was essentially tailored arround the OmniBeam. It might but cant promise anything when it releases. But there is prob going to come more scripts for ToolCore tools in the next few months i would guess.

Interesting mod. Ludicrously faster than a wall of welders. Kind of OP. But it gives me the same vibes as shipyards in the Star Trek Armada series.
@imofage3947 Well thats mostly because of the ingame automation script. Its what is controlling the rotor and hinges the OmniBeam is on.
Oh I would love to see this is a mega ship where all the ships it prints are automated drones
