Chakra doesn't heal a percentage of the incoming last attack, it heals a percentage of the total damage inflicted from the beginning of the fight. Since you're likely to begin fights at Max HP, then it's likely that you'll heal from Max HP. Chakra works best with high HP characters like Barret, especially if he's using Lifesaver.
Just to make this a little clearer what he's saying is chakra heals anywhere from 20-40% (level depending) health each time its activated, but that percentage is being multiplied by the difference between your current health & your maximum HP value. So if you have 2000 HP, and you're down to 800 HP when using Chakra, you'll restore exactly 480 HP (at chakra level 5 40% metric), which is 40% of the 1,200 HP different between Max HP & Current in the example. Also, at ALL levels, Chakra cures the poison condition.
"chakra heals a percentage of the last damage dealt on that character" AFAIK Chakra heals based on the HP you lost (MaxHp - CurrentHp) so it heals more the less HP you have
also, putting the "effect" materia on armor gives your character defensive bonuses, against the elemental type its linked to: 50% resistance at level 1, complete immunity at level 2, and ABSORPTION at level 3! that is, you GAIN HP from spells of that element!

@MSFL_Cardinals there are 2 core approaches to a Barret support tank. 1. Life Saver + an armour with 4 materia slots. 2. Provoke with Astral Cuff or Iron Maiden. Lifesaver on Barret means any damage on others is immediately healed and dealt to Barret. Equip HP Up, Steadfast Block, Chakra, Revival, and Prayer. Equip the Healing Carcinet to boost healing when he's low on health. You should be able to get 9999 HP with him. I also recommend First Strike. Open up with Lifesaver, use Overcharge, and then use Steelskin. Then feel free to carry on playing him or play someone else. Whenever he's low, use Chakra. If he's at 1500 HP, that's 8500 damage, so Chakra's 40% + accessory makes it ~4000 healing, and doesn't cost MP (useful in Hard). It allows decent healing without needing a good magic stat. On someone with good MP, use Magnify + Barrier. Then you can cast Manawall on the whole party or Barret depending on your needs, and you won't die.

I used save wizard to get all max materia and level 50 from chapter one :P Also got the gotterdamerung thing, made the game so much more enjoyable.
Well that completely takes away the enjoyment of playing the game. Also, what a way to expose yourself with cheating. Tool lol
@@GilgaMax305 I mean, we all enjoy playing in different ways. I'm away at work for up to 60 hours a week. I don't have time to sit down and play as much as a lot of other people but I still like to sit down and play games when I can, using save editors and stuff like that allows me to get the most out of my time. As far as exposing myself as a cheater, it's a single player game. It's not like me and you played 1vs1 and I destroyed you because I cheated. Chill out.
Youre obese jaja
I'm glad people are enjoying this but for me I played the crap out of it when it was new and I'm not really interested in a remake but on the other hand theyve never made a final fantasy that's been worth a crap ever sence either.
You played the crap out of the original one? I loved it too. Trust me this game is epic. The story, music, combat. My GOTY so far. You will not be disappointed. I haven't reached the ending yet so can't speak on that part. However, this is the best game to play in quarantine lol.
I almost stopped playing because of how annoying Aerith is....I've tried to kill her so many times
@@78Buju end ruins it
@@ThePresentation010 this game shits all over the original and its fans.
@@joeconti3599 The Truth My God 😂
