it just has way better instruments in it. same exact vocals but the back tracking in the films credits version is way more epic sounding. hate that they didnt reuse it.
@@bearzdlc2172 I am glad I’m not the only one who has noticed us. I remember always getting excited when the credits rolled for part six. This version is so so much more atmospheric. It’s a shame that it’s never gotten an official release.
I remember it like it was yesterday when I watched this movie for the first time with my cousin.... Best movie in my life I loved it after this movie I became a huge horror movie fan
First exposure to this song was Decker Shado's review of Jason Lives. Now I'm hooked and keep listening to this at least one a day every day in October.
About 100 years ago now, back in the early 1990's, there was floating about my mom’s home video collection an old Memorex T-120 recording of 'Jason Lives' that had been lovingly transferred from one of it's original television airing slots on the First Choice Super Channel back in glorious 1986 (confirmation of this being the accompaniment of the promotional intro prior to the movie starting). I can clearly remember being around 7 years old (grade one or grade two) in 1994-ish and wearing this taped bitch right out of commission due to my excessive playing and replaying the living shit out of it on a daily basis for years! I was always particularly infatuated with the ending sequence followed by the end credits, and this mesmeric tune was a top contender of my mental repertoire for a good long while. At school recesses, I would replay it in my head while assuming the role of "The Man Behind The Mask", chasing all of my mostly oblivious classmates around the span of the yard. Such nostalgia! Thanks for posting!
This happened a lot in the 1980s. A lot of times, unreleased studio versions or edits were added to credits sequences that just sounded more raw, authentic and honestly, better.
I think Hollywood sound engineers often did a better job with early digital technology than other people. So with Man Behind the Mask, the movie version is the deluxe version while the album version reflects what some coked up idiot with no or incompetent supervision thought would be "cool" sounding. And often times the coked up idiot was a band member, whereas the Hollywood movie mix had no interference from clueless musicians who need to stick to playing and shut up. I've heard many frustrated producers say that they basically had to ruin an album's sound because an artist made stupid demands about the mixing and mastering. A classic example being the mixer of And Justice For All being told to keep lowering and lowering the bass levels, even though he thought it was a terrible idea.
If I was writing the ending for this movie, I would have Jason breaking the chain the next day after being sunk and having his neck cracked. After that, the last scene would be the kids going back home and Jason sees Nancy (the little girl that he met and spared last night). The reason why Nancy's not with the other kids is because she took longer to pack her bags. However, right before she gets in the bus, the little girl bumps into Jason and almost screams but the hockey masked murderer just hands her a teddy bear or any kind of cute plush toy, showing that he won't hurt her. Jason lets her go and Nancy feels somewhat confused. She gets to the bus and takes one last look at the camp and sees Jason standing there, unsure of how to react. Just before the credits start rolling, Jason tries to hide in a forest in the camp, watching over Camp Crystal Lake (or Camp Forest Green).
Part 6 was always my favorite. Everything about this movie is perfect and it was in my opinion the last good F13 movie for a very...very long time. Part 7 was a big disappointment and after that was just hell
This movie is a perfect blend of atmosphere, horror, comedy, music, and a climax that finally ended the Jarvis trilogy. Throw in Alice Cooper and you have a legendary sequel.
For me it's the best of the second half of the Friday the 13th films where he became essentially a zombie. After this one they seriously started to suck.

I always thought it was cute how the kids cheered for Tommy still being alive in the end lol

Toss up between this one and part 4
This is my most favorite because this is the FIRST Friday the 13th that meta TEN YEARS before Scream! 😀
@@maverick916x agreed but Ill put final Chapter slightly ahead mostly because of Megan here being one of worst final girls ever
@@reddhead2948 I don’t know I kind of like Megan she was definitely one of the prettiest girls in franchise
Anyone besides me think this mix is better than the mix on the album release?
I agree! The intro credits for Mad Max beyond thunderdome had a better version of One of the Living then the album version too
This version is definitely better than the album version, I wish this version was downloadable

This is why I let credits roll for some movies, I freaking love part 6 😁

This movie is the masterpiece of the franchise.

Why does the movie version sound stronger/more epic then the album release?
For some reason they always do! ;)
The reverberation (echo)

I think that's not really the type of mood a Friday the 13th movie would end on. But that does seem like something jason would do.
