Welcome back! It was great to follow your adventure. I have been patiently waiting to hear your thoughts on this bag vs the Alpa…it looks pretty good but I’m sticking for now with the Alpa. Can’t wait to hear about the bags you brought back!! 😊
Nice to have you back! You look revitalized & ready to make more content. I love this bag as a weekender, bringing along a TB PCSB for daily carry, otherwise it doesn't get used much. My wife loved it for a 1 week trip, but she wears much smaller clothes. Onebagging just isn't my style I've learned & I'd rather bring a roller along with a smaller daypack for trips over 3 days. Different strokes for different folks.
Dude.. Your reviews Rok from concept to implementation.. Thank You 🙏
Hey thanks!
I don't think the bag needs more inches, I think this and other bags drop in more layers of organization than is needed. Most of us are using cubes or tech pouches. I was looking at this and the Pacsafe and felt the same about both, I would like more space and less overly busy organizational features. Good review on pointing that out.
the laptop compartment actually holds a lot of clothes.
In my trip I packed exclusively in the large compartment at first with no laptop, but I was able to fit an additional packing cube in the laptop compartment and it did not add to the bulk at all
Smart thinking!
I did the same thing with the zipper pulls on my Aer CPP. Kept mixing up the zipper pulls until I changed them out to all different colors.
This was a great review, thank you
You’re most welcome!
This was helpful.
Great review! I just purchased this bag and looking forward to using it during a 1 week trip to DC then a week in southern Italy. Based on your experience I think I’ll plan to bring a small roller carryon for over flow and souvenirs. Thank you sir! 👏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it - the Italy trip sounds epic!
Have you heard of the dakine split adventure LT 28L? I think you may like it, especially in orange
I have the Tom Bihn Synik 30 and it can fit so much! Expensive but it’s totally worth it for one bag travel
I still don’t have a Tom Bihn bag. What’s the matter with me!
Great review and loads of good tips/observations. Could you tell me where you got the coloured zip pulls from…I think that’s a great way of speeding up access and making the bag stand out on luggage carousels etc. Thanks!

This is so cool, can you do a review of Osprey Daylite Plus ? :D
I felt the same way that the Travel Pack 3 seemed small for travel. Similar bags like the away medium duffel I was able to fit more in. I like the set up of my AER city pack pro and wish they offered a larger version for travel.
Curious what do you like more about the city pack pro?
I have the CPP and like the admin panel better. It's smaller.
Like the water bottle pockets better as well.
Don't need load adjusters so it's just annoying flapping stuff.
Yeah! The Wander Man is back so more reasons to go to UA-cam again.
We’re back baby!
It’s too bad it’s that small. I love the Aer products I have. Wish they’d make s 45 backpack.
Great review! I really like the look of this bag and the high quality materials. I'm going on a 2 week trip to Europe and flying on an airline with fairly strict carry-on bag dimension policies (55x40x20cm). I was interested in this Aer TP3 because of its relatively compact dimensions (even though it's a bit over the 7.9 in depth limit). However, your concerns about the size of the main compartment have me questioning whether it's the right bag for me.
I'm also looking at Patagonia's redesigned Black Hole MLC 45L which, according to specs, is just within regulation size and theoretically has a higher capacity than this Aer bag. Have you considered checking it out?
I haven’t had a chance to use that bag yet, but I hear good things about it
Great review thanks! Was kinda sold on this bag but your review got me thinking.. What's the other bag you mentioned for 2 week one bag travel?
My New Favorite Travel Bag - Cotopaxi Allpa 42L Travel Review and Walkthrough
ua-cam.com/video/SPir-neOXOY/v-deo.html
The Aer is great and super organized. The allpa feels nicer and MUCH roomier.
odd how this was the bag I was planning on purchasing for this exact use case lol
Yes, it looks like it will hold a ton of stuff. But it doesn't. It is a pretty nice bag but it falls short in capacity. Have tried some other backpacks that are on paper 28L but can pack even more stuff
It’s a great looking bag and it’s super well built…I just wish it had more carrying capacity!!!
Yeah I think the laptop compartment uses a lot of liters.
I have the CPP and fill that with my laptop, ipad and kindle so it's not wasted space for me.
Thanks for the review! Do you also have von of the Alpa(?) you talked about at the end? :)
But of course, I have a review of that bag - search the channel for COTOPAXI
@@ThePerfectBag Thank you! Just ordered the Allpa 42l and hope it‘s the right one. I love the admin panel on my Aer City Pack, but I will bring a Day Sling 3 with me, so it feels a bit unnecessary on a Travel bag… the Tortuga Lite and the Pakt Travel v2 also look very interesting. Would you prefer on of these over the Allpa?
Thank you
You’re very welcome
Thanks for the review! So I intend to use this bag to avoid paying for a carry on. Will this backpack work or will airlines say it’s too big and we have to charge you..?
I’ve never been told it’s too big - I’d say your only problem might be some international airlines - but again I haven’t had a problem
You mention this with a roller-suitcase. So, does that mean it is viable as a personal (under the airline seat) item?
That depends entirely on the airline! Check the dimensions vs. rules! Also be aware Aer sells a "SMALL" version of this bag.
Excellent review! I'm one click away from ordering this bag. I hesitate between the modèle cordua or xpax 🤔
I prefer the xpac honestly. Love that orange interior.
Is the inner fabric of the XPAC and Cordura model the same? Is it just the color that's different?
I think it’s just the color.
Were you able to fit it to cabin baggage from start to finish, or did it get checked from start to finish?
I’ve done both with that bag
Thanks for your review! I share similar thoughts after about 6 months with the bag. Just wish it fit a tad more but otherwise an amazing bag. The CTB35 fits more but the vertical laptop opening doesn’t work for me. If I had to do it over again, I may have gotten the Techonaut 30 or Able Carry Max since I hear they can fit just as much in the main compartment as the TP3.
Thanks TMac!
Came here for the Aer, but that is that yellow bag to your left behind you?
Well Spotted! That’s a Jansport Watchtower. They don’t make them anymore (crazy!) but you can find them secondhand if you are diligent. This color is my favorite that it was made in.
@@ThePerfectBag very much appreciate the reply thank you!
Which travel 34 liter backpack would you buy again and again ?
No doubt about it. My favorite travel backpack is still the Cotopaxi Allpa. www.cotopaxi.com/products/allpa-35l-travel-pack?variant=39553006305341&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsvWrBhC0ARIsAO4E6f8lPGOqFuyvg7jh6lDb-aM89dEGjWr0gXpGQNFmMghEAik9jcjHb60aAu_EEALw_wcB
does anyone know what is the tan/brown backpack on his right shoulder? the one with a blue patch
I do! It’s a recycled firefighter 24 hour plus.
Hey man I’m thinking of getting the 3x flight bag
Hey Paul! Let me know if you have questions!!!
@@ThePerfectBag hey
Bit, am how many liters is the aer travel 3x?
@@TokyoPaul There are two versions - the Travel Pack 3 is 35L and the Travel Pack 3 SMALL is 28L
@@ThePerfectBag thanks for confirming man I ended up getting the small for best fit for me. Nice bag!
It’s a very well made bag!
14:30 Yes, I went through a few backpacks while I travelled through Europe and Asia, and I also realized that I preferred minimal Admin pouches.
Fewer but larger dump pouches are overall more useful and space efficient than having multiple specialized pockets. Realistically, they just space out smaller knick-knack items that were better off being placed together.
How many pairs of shoes would you say fit?
I promise I’m not being snarky, but I think it would depend on what type of shoes and what size of shoes.
You said you took it of the luggage carrousel I thought the reason for one bag travel was to save money on checked baggage
Yeah it is - they made me check - sometimes on smaller planes I don’t get a choice
Sometimes at the gate when overfull I take the “check to destination” instead of pick up planeside
Yea we have easyJet in the uk and there’s a weight limit when I watch these one bag travel you tubers going on about one bag travel all the gear they pack in a calm travel bag they would make them put it in the hold and pay more for not booking it you can’t win all budget airlines are the same.
100% agree!
Bought city pack pro, small than I expected, sell it & bought AER TP3 Small. Still feel small for 28L! I was shocked.
Currently selling it online & now I'm using my recent purchase Fjallraven Raven 28L. Same 28L, but I can fit a lot more.
(I exceeded the return days limit so I'm at loss selling these 2 Aer backpacks lol)
They are incredibly well-made bags. I love my city pack. But man, I just need more room in a true travel bag.
@@ThePerfectBag I realized my lifestyle doesn't suit me to use a bag at that size. Sometimes after a good few hours work at a coffee shop, I want to stop by at a pastry shop to buy a few takeaways bread or grocery shop for some milk, but the bag just cannot fit them. But I agree very incredibly well-made bags. If you have fjallraven or jansport aesthetics bag with Aer build quality, let us know!
Where are you trying to sell them ? I have been wanting to purchase - no problems with them being used.
@@jcgnbd7410 I live in Japan & selling online on free markets here. Which country are you from?
@@zafuranfrio United States
Thanks. This kind of shows for me that it wouldn’t be the bag for me.
Well I know now if I’m one bag traveling go for 40-45 liters
What hero clip size is that?
I think that one's a medium. The large ones are really, really big.
That's what she said.
Fair enough.
Personal Item???
I carried this as a carry-on bag, and the day sling 3 max as my personal item.
missed a pocket
DOH!
great
