Nice comparison! One suggestion would be to pack them with the same amount of stuff for a typical 3 day travel. Compare how they hold, how they feel when being carried, etc.
I have this AER bag. It's the most feature-rich bag that I'm aware of. I use pretty all of the organization as I carry alot of tech. I appreciate the compression straps as I can minimize the size of the bag if I'm worried about the carry-on size requirements. I really like the placement and purpose of all of the external pockets as they give easy access to the items I need on a flight or going through airports. The only slight negative is the weight.
I'm really enjoying your comparison series. I would be curious to see a comparison between Aer TP3S and A19 evade 1.5, I think they have a surprising amount of overlap.
On the Evergoods bag, the orientation of the luggage pass-thru and the external pockets are optimized for walking with the bag and accessing stuff by swinging the bag off your back or when the bag is attached to rolling luggage. Meaning, when you are walking around with the bag. On the Aer bag, the external pockets are more optimized for when the bag is either underneath the airplane seat or in the overhead bin. Meaning, the external pockets are oriented for easy access from the top of the bag. For my type of travel, the access to stuff when on the plane is more important. I take alot of long-haul flights, so having easy access to stuff on a 11 hour flight is more important than easy access during the 1 hour wait inside the airport. I'm not doing day hikes nor EDC'ing this type of bag, so easy access while walking around is less important for me.
That's really good info. I'm interested in getting the aer travel pack 3 small to replace my goruck gr1 26L. I was worried about the weight, but I realized that I use the molle strapped field pocket with the GR1 so that ends up closer to 4.6lbs. I was worried it wouldn't fit under the seat as I'm a 2 bag traveler and access to my stuff while on long flights is top priority.
Thank you for the amazing content and knowledge. Really been geeking about backpacks because of this channel. If it’s possible, I would really appreciate a tortuga travel backpack 40L vs aer tp3 35L video.
Nice comparison, I love the coyote color but I like the harness and compression more on the AER. But in this size range, I'd probably go AON Evade 1.5 tbh.
Do either of these have a way to stow the shoulder straps out of the way when using on top of a rollerbag or under an airline seat so they are not getting caught in things? One thing you said that caught my attention was that the CTB26 has a passthrough for a water bladder - while not something I would use often, it's nice to have the option. Could you just put a bladder in the ATP3 Small and pass it between the zippers? One other thing I like about the ATP3 is that not only is it less expensive but they have a waist strap and rain cover option. Not a deal maker, but adds to the situations in which the bag works.
Despite the amazing, granual evaluation and review, I still Love them Both! Although I think the more minimal/techy aesthetic of AER wins me out at the end of the day but I was really impressed by Evergoods.
Why is no one of these EDC/OCD youtubers commenting on the fact that all Evergoods backpacks are askew with one top corner higher than the other? Bothers the hell outta me and I would never buy one because of it.
Thank you for watching and good call out! That’s another really great alternative, in general I prefer the layout of these two vs the t73 but it definitely holds up well, might have to do a comparison video featuring that one soon!

Hi Danny! You absolutely must stop saying that vertical laptop pocket orientation is a problem when the bag sits on top of the trolley. I've made hundreds backpack + carry-on trolley configuration flights and vertical laptop orientation has never been even a minor issue. Even when I get ready for security check. Horizontal laptop orientation is inferior to vertical in 99% of real life situations. Only on bigger checked luggage with shorter handles I occasionally might want to place my backpack horizontally, however, not really an issue as I always grab both handles of the luggage and backpack for security. In my experience, realization of the luggage passthrough on both EG and Aer here is a gimmick, to wobbly and insecure. Proper 'business' backpacks like Samsonite and its subsidiaries like Tumi with wide vertical passthrough is much better option. [From Evergoods, Gorucks, Aers, A19, Ospreys, Samsonites, Fjallravens, etc. backpacks user].
Also, if you forget which side the laptop side zipper is on, you could end up with the zipper facing your rolling luggage and not being able to get to it at all, whereas with a top zipper, you can get to it no matter which side you have against the roller bag.
Thank you for watching and that’s another solid alternative to these for sure! In general I prefer the size and layout of these but if you need something a little bigger it will hold up well against these
Mesh pockets on most packs fail after time. Ive had sev packs w meshy- osprey others and they sag out or tear eventually w moderate use and look like sh1t

Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! That’s a good idea, will definitely keep that in mind for future comparison videos! :)

Thank you for watching and for sharing your experience with the bag! Glad to hear it’s been working out well!:)
Same. I keep watching video after video (have the Travel Pack 3 in XPAC), but nothing can touch it for the money.
the admin compartment as well as the strap comfort on the AER TP3 small is class leading.
Thank you for watching and I agree, those straps are some of my all time favorites!
@dannypacks Hope you're ok brother you look a bit too thin😮
These are exactly the two bags I wanted to see compared. Well done. Thank you!
Thank you for watching and I’m glad the video was helpful!:)

Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! Definitely another solid alternative and I can see some of ten similarities for sure!

Thank you for watching and for the support! Great suggestion for a comparison video, will have to add that to the list!
I second this!
Great comparison. I have them both, and they're both great bags.
Thank you for watching and I’m glad to hear both bags have been working out well!:)
I would love to see you compare Peak Designs 30L travel backpack to this Evergoods CTB26. Maybe in the future?
Thank you for watching and definitely a good idea for a comparison video in the future!
Nice comparison, I love the coyote color but I like the harness and compression more on the AER. But in this size range, I'd probably go AON Evade 1.5 tbh.
Thank you for watching and the evade is definitely another really great alternative!
Could you please do deep dive comparison between ctb26 and able carry max? Thank you!!🙏🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for watching and sounds like a great idea for another comparison video!:)
The AER tech front admin pocket is nice but I think would be worthless for my travel use
Thank you for watching and fair point, I could see that not matching up with everyone’s packing style

Great vid! I love my Evergoods coyote brown colored CBT 26 L bag. The best bag. 🎉
Thank you for watching and for the support! The coyote Ctb26 has quickly become one of my go to’s!:)
These seem heavy to me. Please review some super lightweight bags. Thanks❤
Thank you for watching and for the suggestion! I’ll have to make a list of some good ones! :)
Great review! Which do u prefer ctb26 coyote or black for travel? Reasons?🙏🏽
Thank you for watching! The color mainly comes down to the outfits I’m packing and which one will match better :)
Despite the amazing, granual evaluation and review, I still Love them Both! Although I think the more minimal/techy aesthetic of AER wins me out at the end of the day but I was really impressed by Evergoods.
Thank you for watching and I agree, would still have a really hard time picking just one! Haha
Great comparison, how tall are you?
Thank you for watching! I am 5’11” :)
Why is no one of these EDC/OCD youtubers commenting on the fact that all Evergoods backpacks are askew with one top corner higher than the other? Bothers the hell outta me and I would never buy one because of it.
How would you compare this ones, vs the tomtoc T73 (30L)?
Thank you for watching and good call out! That’s another really great alternative, in general I prefer the layout of these two vs the t73 but it definitely holds up well, might have to do a comparison video featuring that one soon!

Thank you for watching and good callout! I haven’t had any issues with mine so far but definitely something I will be watching out for
