Hi guys, I’d be well impressed if I could hang out with you at a car show but I live in the United Kingdom unfortunately so how about you guys come to the UK for a gathering and a meet and greet for all of your fans up here.
@@theskidfactory Cheers Mate, Yeah, pretty keen to finish it, should be a nice Street Driver. Your Aircons' Got me thinking. Lemon Squash in comfort, can't beat that.
Thanks for putting your mug on camera Al, the world truly is a better place for it. I know your an engineer before an entertainer, but you are more valuable than you might realise Mr Turbine Allen.
Pre ordered plus added me a stubbie cooler to add to my other stuff i got ages ago. This is the only channel i have bought stuff from aside from marty and moog.
Crazy, Personally the best thing i ever done. Ive lost contact lenses in my googles racing haha. And had that much muck in my eyes behind contacts it felt like welding flash. Cant say ive heard of it. Mind you i dont weld alot these days. I try stick to the aircon lol.
I thought the whole point when using the mirrored turbos was to have symmetry. Surely you would make the LHS dump pipe follow the same path as the driver's side master or no master. Spoils the symmetry.
Woodys welds are looking good enough for you to pass over the torch. If you can;t see the joint on stainless and ally black or blue texta M/S Engineers chalk
Awesome content keep good stuff coming, loving the big ole boosted motors. You guys are lucky to have such clean rust free bodies to work on. In uk all good Stuff just turns to red oxide dust...bloody road salt.
Allen take a look and the ESAB Savage A40 Welding Helmet, it has a True Color lens in it and it's night and day difference in seeing the work area. It also doesn't hurt that it's 90 bucks US when others are selling their version of it for 150 to 220 US.
I feel your pain. I got reading glasses that are like magnifying glasses just for welding and I still lose the joint sometimes. A bright worklight on the joint helps.
Hey Al, always wanted to know: Do you use a thumb wheel for your TIG because you are often tacking things in odd positions where a foot pedal is impractical, or did you just start TIG welding that way and have never really used a pedal? I'm thinking of giving the thumb wheel a try just because there are some situations where a pedal is almost impossible, but I love the fine control of a pedal. Your thoughts?
Cheers guys, great video. Skid Factory undies would appear to be a merch opportunity. 'Woody' on the front, 'Skid Factory' on the back. Just a thought. :)
Upsets me when i see the freedom factory logo looking just like the skid factory idk if it was meant to be. Love both the channels but i been an mcm/skid factory fan hella longer than cleet was around.
Think about it. Skid factory didn't want to pay for a logo so went on some free sites. Cleetus wanted a logo so went on some free sites. Same logo cos it's non copyrighted free to use.
mate how do you find the AC works with just sheet metal walls? My new shed will have an insulated ceiling only, i was thinking of getting a plasterer to sheet the walls with some insulation batts behind it and going a split system like you have.
Will always be better fully insulated but I have so much wiring and hoses routed along the walls already we decided to stop there for serviceability reasons. Definitely do it now if the shed is new.
Unpopular opinion: i think Al should make 2 the same dump pipes, replicate the right one to the left one... Loved the episode, boys! -Long time subscriber
Got a question for you Alan I got a bbc 540 twin turbo in a 1964 c10. I want to make the inter cooler the length of the grill so dimensions would be 44 inches x 6 inches x 5 deep. Do you think it would be efficient?
Probably not mate. If you have no frontal area you could consider water to air intercooling as the radiator can be placed in front of the engine cooling radiator, it will only need to be 1.25" thick.
Hi guys, love the videos........can you please do me a favor?.........What are the dimensions of the VK front indicator lights?.......need the height and diameter............cheers.
They are -3 oil feeds. Garrett Ball Bearing turbos do not require oil volume and pressure to centralise the shaft and bearings like a journal bearing turbo, they only need a small amount of oil flow for lubrication and a little bit of cooling, most of the cooling is taken care of by coolant passages. Some big dog turbos designed for methanol cars use oil and air cooling as there is typically no liquid cooling system.
Are the hoodies NSW Rated, as I’m sure you’re aware QLD winter is more like NSW early autumn... how many potato’s out of 7 would you give it for as a warmth rating
I use readers (was hoping to get to 50 without 'em, ha! 40 was when my arms got too short) and just get safety maglarses versions, so just reading or welding or anything I got my safety glasses on.
Oh the brakes are going to be interesting on this car, especially on a hot day after that dump pipe gets hot and you go to add fluid. I suspect Al has a plan for that

Woody and Al, did you go for a -4 size oil feed for the turbo's? if so is there a reason you went -4 instead of a say -6?
-6 is waaaaay too big. Even -4 would need a restrictor
david fraser hence the question.
