Great video. Iv'e been using this technique for several years and there has been many additional good alternative bait additions available in addition to the Biffle Bug since. Your point made of altering the retrieve to suit the mood of the fish is the most important to me. Thanks Again
Just went out and purchased some swing heads .my pond slowed down so I'm going to try this approach.hope I hook up Thanks for the lessons .getting better at this fishing thing lol
I was at Toledo Bend a couple of years ago and we were catching fish on the 8x and 10x crankbaits and we found a huge school of big fish in deep timber. We started loosing our crankbaits and those things are expensive, so I decided to try something. I tied on a 1 ounce swing head with a 5/0 hook and put a 4.5 inch Kitech swimbait on that was pretty close to the color crankbait we were using and just started hammering the big fish. I could fish it slower and not get hung up. I could have made a killing with the 5 fish total I had that day if it would have been a tournament...but it wasn't. All I got was some great pictures lol
Our reservoir is over run with zebra mussels and they cut my line so easily when using the Wobble Heads. Thanks for the tip about switching to a Tokyo rig. I will try it next time out. Great video.
I was introduced to this technique by Tactical Bassin. Tim just put out a tips video where he used a high float stick bait. I started fishing it a couple days ago, and have caught largemouth everyday in extreme tough conditions. The largest have been running from a wacky worm due to extremely clear water.
found my first swing head on the ground with a swim bait on it, took it off and put on a “creature bait” and caught a couple nice ones, I was popping it around some bushes. thank you for the tips
Great video topic. I will definitely apply some of these tips to how I fish this going forward. I have tried fishing this technique for several years with very little success. I have several compartments in my tackle arsenal dedicated to swing heads, but just haven't had much success. Not sure if its because I haven't been around fish, or if I am using the wrong baits to pair with a swing head or just fishing the wrong time of year. Is there a time of year that this technique works better than other times of year? And is there a depth limit where beyond a certain depth of water, you are better off switching to a different technique? Thanks
CRAZY... I use swing heads for saltwater fishing alot and have great success. I'll be starting to use them in fresh soon. Makes perfect sense for all the same reasons. THANKS FOR THE INFO... ALSO, (I'm sure you've explained it) but what type of knot do you tie? I have noticed you always have 2 short tag ends??????
The biggest problem with the football jig or the swing head is the way the line comes in constant contact with the hard bottom causing line breakage. But the other point is the Levage the fish has in throwing the jig because of the football design, but what do I know after fishing football jigs for 30 years on the Colorado River.
Anyone ever use a lizard for this? I used a craw last winter and only caught one fish on this bait. Most of my winter fish came on a blade bait or a jig/T-rig pitched to wood cover.
This is not a new technique, just a better head presentation to use. We use football jigs on bottom just like this in summertime. Roller jigging. This is a nice alternative but I have found rolling a jig helps me get bigger fish
Mistake #4 u talk about a chatter bait, once they bit they have it. I disagree, in fact most mistakes with a chatter bait are made at that point. If u start using a medium action cranking rod while fishing a chatter bait, I guarantee u will land way more fish.
Personally my preference with a swing head is not to get a wide gap hook because the bait can tilt to one side and it takes a lot of the action away so I take the ewg off and use a normal weedless worm hook
I'm being to think UA-camr videos tent to confuse people more then they are all ready confused I've caught 10 pounders on a hard head by just dragging it and I use a 4 inch bait on the back I feel like some of these videos tend to mislead people for example braided line everyone but one person will tell you not to use it for crankbaits but yet David fritts is using 10 test braid now and so many people are using a mh rods for square bills but Rick clunn uses a heavy action glass rod now I tend to listen to them and put up there set up and make them work for me oh by the way Tommy biffle uses a flipping stick with him hard head set up I'm fishing there's no right or wrong way to fish 90% of the lures out there I feel like but these are my options
Are you doing a give away? For a rod reel lures and boat? Got some message from someone tagged to my comment saying I won then some guy trying to get me to send money to a cash app of some one name Michelle? What’s going on here
Someone help me I’ve been a subscriber for a couple of years this year I haven’t seen as much or maybe any new content on bassfishingHQ where did it go? HELP…thanks
Actually started making my own swing heads. With split rings and tear drop weights. Attach the split ring to the hook eye, then the weight.
Not sure if you know this...but you are one of the best. Great explanations and insight. Fan forever.

Hard to beat the ole original “Biffle Bug” for this. Another solid one is the strike king Rage Bug
Try the Googan punch bait or banditos bug.Ngl,they flat out get bit on these swing heads
@@dontnonowuno9953 googan is good but over played
D bomb for the win
People give googan a bad wrap but the Kraken craw would work really nice for this as well
Caught a four pounder today because of the video thanks for the tips!
2nd. Love the bandito bug on my Swing-Heads. Also, the Reaction Innovations ManBearPig works great for me as well if you want a bit more action. :)
IT’S GONNA BE A GOOD ONE
Gonna be slinging one in a derby tomorrow. Thanks for the tips Ty 👊😎
Just went out and purchased some swing heads .my pond slowed down so I'm going to try this approach.hope I hook up
Thanks for the lessons .getting better at this fishing thing lol
Rage Bug and swing head is my confidence bait catch fish all year on it.
I never had success with the swing head but the Tokyo Rig has been really good for me. I live in Central NC.
Nice video. Always learning something.

Great break down. 👌 Thank you for sharing and good luck with your events 😊 👍
I have learned a lot from your videos please keep up the good work and thank you so much
Berkley pit boss and 6th sense stroker craw are awesome baits for this technique
Lots of good info ! Good video.
Sup Tyler. I am guilty of fishing it too fast, makes me use less. Will use these tips and see how I do. Tyvm tc👊

Thanks, best video on this lure I have been able to find.
I caught 50 bass 1 day last spring using a swing head and a 6 inch zoom lizard bouncing it off rocks on points biggest was 4.5 lbs
The strike king jointed structure jig has a slightly different head than the rest and man does it work beautifully
Agree. I’ve smoked em on their black and blue 1/2oz swing head

Another great video topic Ty. I liked mistake #2 the best, that’s a good idea. I’m gonna definitely start trying these tips! 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
Great tips! I see so much potential in this bait.
Those JR version bandito bugs were fire this spring, but dead stopped for minnows.
found my first swing head on the ground with a swim bait on it, took it off and put on a “creature bait” and caught a couple nice ones, I was popping it around some bushes. thank you for the tips
I love trogar hooks and kamagatsu I just wish kamagatsu would make more speciallized hooks and jig heads

No hard bottom lakes where I live. All mush mucky bottoms here. What technique to do with flat muck bottoms?
Tokyo rig in muck, use the lightest weight you can.
Ty does a great video on it

What knot are you using in this video? Thanks Ty
You produce awesome content. Always fresh and informative.
Love your videos you explain them very well. Great job
Very good tips thanks
Awesome. Thanks for sharing
Appreciate the info I was using one today matter of fact
Got a club tournament tomorrow and this will be on my deck.
I swing head with a glidebait. And a 10XD
Love this channel
What knot are you tying?
Ryugi makes a sliding football weight. Slide it up a Tokyo rig drop wire and it's a better swing head!
That's a nice shirt (hooded white camo). Why don't you sell that one anymore?
How big of a bait is to big? Same with to small?
I use the pitboss on the swing head
I just ended a 9 day skunk with this set up and used wallmarts yum creature bait
Anyone ever use a lizard for this? I used a craw last winter and only caught one fish on this bait. Most of my winter fish came on a blade bait or a jig/T-rig pitched to wood cover.
Thanks 👍
Good stuff 👍
I usexthe bandito bug on this technique
Good video!
Thank you
Great video
Why not a Craw style plastic?
good stuff.....

BAM!
I like me some biffle bug action
I try this but every time end up snagged

What’s going on here
Be careful. It probably is a scammer. Roland Martin just posted a warning to his viewers regarding the same scenario.
It's a scam.
