After many requests for making the infamous aged planter pot vessel in white, I've finally done it! Not only did I show how to do it in white, but I also did a step-by-step DIY on how to get a tan color. I love both colors so much! I was inspired by the amazing Amber Interiors Sienna Table Lamp. I love the warm tones and beautiful texture on that lamp and wanted to incorporate that same textured look into this vessel.
This is such a great DIY project I'm convinced any color would look really great with some "aging"! If you're looking for that found and aged look on a planter or vessel minus the hefty price tag, you've come to the right place!
Let me know if you like these types of home decor DIYs and dupes by liking this video or subscribing to my channel for more great DIY ideas! As always, thanks so much for watching!

Hadn't seen this 'dry dirt' technique before. LOVED the result... can't wait to try it.
Coffee grounds work great too
Yes! I've heard a lot of people doing that! 💕
And cinnamon too!
turned out real nice. I've done many of these pots and have found wetting the dirt gives you the same effect but needing much less layering and coats of clear paint..............................just a time saver technique really
Can I have your advice pls? If I have a white pot do I need to start with clear spray 1st so dirt will stick ?
Perfect! AND... add a transfer to match your decor!
Thank you! 💕
Wow!! You are so creative and clever! I just love how you presented your unique ideas, tips and tricks. Plus your videos are visually pleasing and easy to follow. I’ve been making diy videos for a while but I know there is still so much to learn. I love the idea of making dupes on a budget. I don’t think we have any pottery barns near me so it’s even better that I can make my own now. I’m happy to come across a talented creator like you. I’d really love to learn more from each other.
Thank you! Keep creating!! :) 💕
This is the best result! Not too rough, just enough.
One of my favorites, as well!
Ok! So I’m new here... and apparently I HAVE to watch them all. Learning a lot... loving every minute!
Thanks Laurie! Happy to have you here!! 💕
Love this so much! Thank you for sharing I hope to try this soon!
Thanks for sharing to help us get ready to do our pot project.
😲😲😲😲 I'm blown away at how awesome this turned out!!!! I absolutely Love Love Love it!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks Kathy! The warm colors are gorgeous on this pot! 😍
Beautiful, glad i saw this seemed easy
It's not too terribly difficult to do! Have a go at it!
I love it when you play in the dirt 😁💜
haha ! It's pretty fun Joan! We've been working on our outdoor garden space lately so we've got a lot more "playing in the dirt" videos coming! 😀😍 Have a beautiful day!
Can't wait to give this a try.. I've been on the hunt for one.. but can't find one or is way to expensive.. so I'm going for a diy 🙌
Hi Yuri! Let me know how it goes if you decide to try it!! 💕
@@ValerieAguiar I just finished them yesterday 🥰 I would love to share with you. If you have an Instagram 🙌
I have really enjoyed watching your channel, I think you should consider selling some of the beautiful dupes you make. I would definitely place an order!
Hi Araksi! Sometimes I think I should too... I have way too many pieces around the house and in the garage!! 😂 Thanks so much for your comment and I may have to start selling some of my stuff in the future! 💕
I am excited!
Super creative, I am blown away. Thanks so much for sharing. Do you projects done on black plastic pots?
It came out beautifully!! I think I'm gonna give it try to one of my pots. Thank you for sharing!! 😊👍👍
Hi Julie! You totally should! Come back and let me know how it goes! Have a great weekend, friend! 💕
Where did you "FIND" the Larger Olive Branches, Tree's, etc. ? Thanx !!!
I have a glazed terracotta pot. How do l prep it for the paint to stick and stay? I've tried to sand to roughen but l can't see the shine leave.
They have the same vessels at Tuesday Morning!! I only paid $15 for the same size!
Great find!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I made the black one by following your "Restoration Hardware aged planter" video! I'm obsessed!! Thank you for the great explanation! Now on to make this one...if I can find another pot...they're sold out! 😩😂💞😘💯👏💪
p.s. Dirt method is hands down the best!!! 💞
That's so, so awesome to hear!! Let me know how this one goes! And keep hunting for a pot... you can usually find a good one at a few different places! 💕
Totally agree! 💯
Love the look....will certainly try!!!
Yes! Let me know how it goes! 💕
Nice job! It turned out great!
Thank you!!
I have this same pot and what you did to it was spot on. Love the depth of the tan color it looks just beautiful. Great job!
Thank you! It's such an easy DIY and what a world of a difference! So glad you enjoyed it! :)

Hi Valerie,
Just discovered your channel 👏🏻
I love what you’ve done here - I’m now subscribed and will check out your other videos 😊🇬🇧
Hi Jo! So awesome to have you here! Hope you had a really good weekend! 😊
I didn’t know you had this color way also-I believe this must be the easiest, but time consuming, way to achieve these stunning results. I’m going to Home Depot this week to try to find those same planter.
It's a little time consuming, but the more you do it, the faster it seems to get ;)
I really love these. I wish Home Depot would restock the pots! 💕
Keep an eye out at other places too! I've seen identical ones at places like Tuesday Morning and someone said Home Goods and HomeSense!
I bought that same pot, same color from my Home Depot several months ago so I can do this very process to it. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm glad I waited now because I'd like to see if I can find some of that chalk paint in Yarn to use on mine. Love the way yours turned out.
Hi Laurie! Yeah, grab some of that chalk paint and you're ready to go! Come back and let me know how it goes!! 💕
I love this!! Did you wait until it was fully dry before adding the first layer of dirt?
Great idea, been looking for a tutorial
We can use modeling paste
Do you wait it to dry first?
Just as beautiful as the first one, nailed it! 👏🏼😍
How sweet! Thank you so much for the support Marisa!
What’s the name of the plant, please,it’s beautiful your job, congratulation’s
Absolutely beautiful 🤩❤️
Thanks Melinda!! Have a great week! 💕
@@ValerieAguiar You also! I subscribed to your channel, I’m a fan!😊
Do you wait for the clear matte paint to dry before applying another layer of coat of dirt?
How do you tell the difference between dirt vs elephant dung.
So beautiful!
Thank you!! :)
Love this planters you posted aren’t available. Help
Home Depot apparently does not carry this style any longer. No at Lowe's too. Amazon, nada. Will shop local for this excellent idea!
Hi Jan! I'll keep an eye out and see if I can find anything! Thanks for the update!
Beautiful 💕
Aw, thank you! 💕
Very nice video. thank you ... im opening a store and want to urn style and will use this method :-)
Thank you! And good luck on the new venture of opening a store!! 💕
Love this so much! Definitely going to be making one in this colorway now!
Hi Taylor!! Yes, do it!! Would love to hear how it goes! 💕
Lindo
Beautiful!
I love it.
Thank you!
Beautiful.
Thank you! 😃
Love this - It just speaks to my heart!! Do you think it would work on plastic pots too? Would you follow the same steps? Thanks for sharing and the inspiration ❤️🙂
Hi Madonna! I don't see why it couldn't work on plastic pots? If you try it, let me know how it goes! Thank you for the sweet comment!! 💕
I was thinking the same thing. I think if I put a coat of plastic paint on the container first it would help adhere the rest of the coats.
I really enjoyed your video.!!!!!!!!
Thank you Anna!! :)
Beautiful
Aw, thank you Misty! ❤️
I just saw this exact one at home sense yesterday for 12.99!! Damn now I regret not getting it 😂
Hi Raya! What a steal!! Go back and get it!! 😉
I love this so much! I just sent my husband to Home Depot to find a pot 😆
Haha... that's the way to do it! Can't wait to hear how it turns out! 💕
I hope he's not at the same store as my husband is because I warned my husband "You better find one or else" LOL!!! just kidding....but can you imagine how many husbands are out there at home depot right now asking the employees where this planter is located? LOL!!!
Omg lol
Maybe use some southeast red clay along with gray and black dirt, give it some texture.
Hi Sandi! Awesome idea! 😊
Beautiful!!
Thanks Patricia!! 💕
I’m definitely doing this!
Rebecca! It's a great addition to the last one I did! Hope you had a great weekend and are doing well!! 💕
I'm going to the goodwill
What an amazing job! Thank you fir sharing. I have old vases in my patio that I was going to throw away bc i didn't know how to fix them. I will for sure be getting them like new with your tips. ☺️🤗
Beautiful 🤩
Hi Brenda! Thanks so much for the support! 😀
I love this! Can you use regular spray paint or should it be spray chalk paint?
You can use regular, acrylic spray paint, but be sure to go with a "matte" finish.
Beautiful 🤩👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you friend! 💕

It seems weird as I write these words.....but Girl, you got the BEST dirt !! 😂 crazy people like me look in the links for a source. Haha. You should sell it to gals like me who live in Virginia with RED clay 👎🏻👎🏻😹😹
I've had other people comment about the red clay! 😄That's not a bad idea, you may be on to something there Cheryl! 😄😉 Hope you have a wonderful day, take care!
