I appreciate the time and effort done here. Beginner learning After Effects by watching tutorials and then recreating them. Best method I found so far.
Didn't need this for any project but there's always lots of small tips here and there that one can use and you're going fast enough for someone to sit through and just watch the ideas fly by. Great videos!
Great work on this one, I love the focus on use of expressions over keyframing! Repeatable expressions really help deal with tedious animation (...and make my job as a programmer more useful for animation...)
I don’t have adobe after effects however this is helpful over all for any editing app since I always have a hard time figuring out positioning for falls and dynamic movement
one of the best tutors I know.. quick question >>> I want to create a rain dropping on an umbrella .. in my head I know I should make the Umbrella like a floor and place an expression that say "if this layer touches the umbrella Fade Out".. just don't know how to make it happen. At the time of this comment I'm just gonna try something on my own. cheers..maybe I'll send via IG
Expressions are probably not the best way to go. We can always use the umbrella as a matte for a layer of rain, but that means no rain appears where the umbrella is but it will appear below the umbrella. So, what we really need is to create the space protected by the umbrella and use that as a matte. It gets more complex if we want the rain to "splash" when it hits a surface. Often we should be using a particle system of some kind that can respond to hulls defined by masks and have a droplet explode when it makes contact. I hope that helps.
Perhaps. The more advanced a technique gets, the more niche its application becomes. What kinds of specific things are you looking to use in a logo animation?
At around 8:00 I talk about putting keyframes to cause the vertical movement. Pinch your keyframes closer together for faster moving elements. I hope that helps.
In the gradient editor window, the knots along the top of the rectangle showing the gradient will adjust opacity and the knots along the bottom will adjust the colour. I hope that helps!
Unrelated question I had while watching this. If I was making a MoGRT in after effects to use in Premiere is there a way to attach something to a null in the template once inside Premiere? For instance, if I made the example in this video into a template but took out the square, could I use an object in premiere to take it's place (i.e. null would have the motion in the template but in Premiere I could assign something as a property in my template to take the place of the square)? I'm an expressions / templating n00b right now so just figuring this stuff out.
If we're simulating falling this way then we would likely bring a ground plane up to meet the object. Some parenting of layers would be required, but it's certainly possible.

Thank you! I did not want to type this up lol, should've been in the video's description tbh
I'm sure people will be falling for this tutorial!
Flawless pun. 10/10.
That was so shit
@Randall Grayson sounds like a scam
The streak lines is what I always wanted to learn about! The particle system + directional blur is so clever. Thank you for this!
Glad it was helpful! Finally some anime speed lines made easy :)

I just need that at this moment!! Great!
The beauty of simplicity
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It was exactly what I needed to hover a tiny little drone over a cityscape.
Excellent! That's great to hear!

Glad to hear it. I try to work smarter over harder every time around here :)
As always, brother...great info!! Thank you!
I love your videos, Evan.
I'm glad to hear it. I hope they keep being good :)

you put a lot of effort in animation the explanation which itself is a kind of a tutorial................. great i love your videos..............
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you so much! I will now start using expressions more often
They're pretty great :)
Just looking for this, Thanks' so much brotha, great day. ❤❤
You’re pro ae bro 😁 thanks for the useful tut
Glad to hear it helps.
Nice tutorial, need many more interesting stuff like this😁
What future topics are you most interested in learning about?
Wow, short tutorial but very condensed 😃 I’m going to follow it right now :)
Thank You!

yeah! that's what I happen to be doing; a matte.. Not the last part with the particle though lol.. but yeah thanks for responding 🤲🏽
@@ECAbrams
Incredible video! Extremely useful for my school project. Thank you so much!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you!
You're very welcome!
Nice tutorial! Like your work man!
Thanks a lot!
These videos might not get that much attention but i really appreciate them :)
Best kept secret in motion design I suppose :)
@@ECAbrams Cant agree enough
Something I had been searching for, thanks
you're welcome. Glad the search is over :)
Thanks for putting this up!
Thanks man. Really cool stuff! What about some tutorials about advanced technique we can use for logo animations?
Perhaps. The more advanced a technique gets, the more niche its application becomes. What kinds of specific things are you looking to use in a logo animation?
@@ECAbrams That's deep.
Anyways, ur tutorials are awsm buddy.
I must be good at after effects because this is a super-fast tutorial but I followed it 100%
heck yes you are.
@@ECAbrams Do you recommend any websites that have good text animation plugins for AE
Thanks! Please, can make a tutorial on how to create beer foam, or procedural wave foam?
Foam you say... like in a 2d context perhaps? I'm sure some fractal noise or cell pattern could get us drive something like that.
I love this!! Can u make a tutorial of the animation when the falling letters hit the ground? Thank you :)
Absolutely. Thanks for the idea!
you saved my college project🥴
Very helpful video👍👍👍😊
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you very much. learn alot from this tutorials. please make video for premier tutorials also.
You're very welcome. What kinds of questions or troubles do you have with Premiere?
thank you so much!!
So so awesome, thank you!
amazing bro good job
Thank you so much 😀
Please do more simple tutorials like this?
For sure. I’ve got lots of topics large and small on my list this year.
big thanks bro
Wonderfully laid out. Would like to see a similar tutorial for side scrolling with added 3d camera movement to sell the infinite background effect.
thanks !
This is exactly what i needed for a project i have my hands on hehehehehe thank you!!!!!
Hey , wassup buddy?
Glad it helps!
LOVE IT
u saved me
Thanks a lot 😊
you're very welcome.
Great tutorial this is exactly what I was looking for! Thank you so much! Just one question, how do you make the streaks go faster?
At around 8:00 I talk about putting keyframes to cause the vertical movement. Pinch your keyframes closer together for faster moving elements. I hope that helps.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thanks!
you're very welome.
I'm having trouble @7:48
I dont know how to make mine see-through

@@ECAbrams that was super quick. Thank you
Love your videos! Softball…why do you put the rotation wiggle in the object rather than the Null?
If it makes more sense for you to place it on the null, place it there. It's a subjective choice that makes more sense to how I organize the project.
So Thanks for you
ur a beast
thanks
Welcome!
nice

You're in luck. Just yesterday, the ability to swap assets in a template was added to the public beta. I highly recommend checking that feature out.
how do you make the shape layer fit perfectly into the frame?
its double click on the shape layer icon; if anyone has the same question
i love you
can we show it in oneshot?? Object faling camera tracking to it till the ground meets??
If we're simulating falling this way then we would likely bring a ground plane up to meet the object. Some parenting of layers would be required, but it's certainly possible.
Brooo I'm so struggling at the gradient streaks. When i change it into linear gradient it turns black and white not like yours
Sounds like you need to adjust the knots on the opacity and colour of the gradient perhaps?
Hey you have blender channel right 🤔🤔🤔
Not that I know of. I don't use Blender in my work currently. But there are many great Blender resources available.
@@ECAbrams by the way sir i join ur skillshare class i relly learn somuch. Thank you😍🥰
cool
Very usefall
Perfect pun. 10/10 pun points achieved.
cant figure out the gradient
Sorry to hear that. What's going wrong for you with that part?
But we’re not everyone, the majority of humans don’t even know about this video.
Is this inspired by crash bandicoot video games?
Chip's Challenge actually.
was the video game crash bandicoot?
Sonic Adventure.
please make this with racing cars
Like, looking down on top of the cars?
Ah, Fall Guys! 😉
He is so underrated!

ohhh fall guys 😂

You skip over how to add Gradient fill... It's a little annoying. Thanks for the video anyway,
now to spend 1 hour finding how to add Gradient Fill...
great but talking so fast !! hhhhh trying to catch
Sorry about that. Some people say watching on half speed is fun to listen to at least.
love the tutotial, but my man. moving wayyyyy too fast. Had to keep rewatching bits. This 11 minute video took an hour to watch
?
Did you have a specific question?
Yeah way to fast on explaining I can't get to do anything :/
I'm the 666th like. Just sayin'
Heck yeah!
not for beginners
wow it works
Thank you!
