I’m so glad I was able to back the pack when I could. It felt like forever waiting for it, and from going from a spirit pack to a hasbro one has been amazing. Keep up the fantastic work Jason.
With the detachable wires: if they do get caught they fall off rather than breaking. It also might open a window to be able to make your own wires and attach them

One mod for the proton pack/neutrona wand that I would love to see is attachments to make an afterlife styled video game proton pack, with the Plasm Distribution System, Dark Matter Generator, and Composite Particle System as the wand already has those fire modes in it.

I collect prop replicas for 2 decades now. I will say this. With the release of this ridiculously movie accurate Proton Pack by Haslab, the line between toy and prop replica have blurred tremendously. Superb that this is 3D scanned and therefore has direct lineage to thr screen used prop from the movie! History had been made!
I just got my pack the day before yesterday and got it set up. I'm loving it and may mod it a small bit.
For the next thing they do, I REALLY hope that they give us the Ghost Trap. Possibly with Ecto Goggles included.
I personally love how modular the pack is. I have a bad back, so it's a lot easier for me to just detach a component that I want to hit with paint or Rub n Buff, than to hunker over the full pack.
I’m in love. Up until backing this project, I’d totally given up on the idea of owning a full-size proton pack that looks even vaguely close to this good. The mere fact that there are numerous upgrade paths and little touches that can make it even better blows my freakin’ mind! I feel like ten-year-old me every time I walk into the room and see it sitting there on that sweet rack!
This is really a dream come true item. I would never have made my own pack and certainly not spent over $1-2K on a custom made one. I also understand the inaccuracies and plan on at least adding the ALICE frame to mine--but if I didn't have the funds for that, I would have been MORE than satisfied with the way it comes out of box. Can't thank Hasbro enough for this opportunity and for knocking it out of the park.
If you're wearing it and it turns off all you need to do is dislocate your shoulder so you can reach the switch and then pop your shoulder back in and you're good to go.
Mods I’ve done for my pack are as followed:
Proper P clamp for the ribbon cable.
Correct yellow wire sleeve.
Electrical and grip tape where moulded tape is.
Twisted the ribbon cable to the right.
Metal adjuster rings on red cyclotron wire.
Alice frame.
Genuine Dixie cup bracket.
Replaced milky power cell lens for a black lens. (Tried a blue one and it looked cartoonishly blue)
Frutti keep alive and switch in the power cell compartment.
Wand mods:
Removed fake tape grip and added a filler and real grip tape.
Dixie hook.
Repainted tip.
3D printed snap grips for an 84, 89, 2021 look. All of which are done to be screen accurate.
(GB2 grip has a wooden finish and a poorly done black paintjob to look worn down)
(Afterlife grip is same as GB2 grip with added black hex bolt.)

I invested in a set of 4 rechargeable D cells and a charger for around $35 from Amazon.
@@SpaceWizardCosplay I get that, but it's still the logical reasoning behind the internal timers. $35 for rechargeable, $30 (what i paid) for 12 amazon D cells.
@@redwolf602Rechargable batteries are highly flawed because the more that you recharge them then less power output that you,ll get from them each time that you charge them up so that doesn,t work either

I'm going in waves with my mods. First step was the wire sleeve. Second was the ALICE frame. Next up is replacing the screws with weathered silver/black screws. (Afterlife screws were silver screws with weathered black paint whereas prior screws were silver.) When I replace the screws, I'm replacing the P-clamp over the wire sleeve with a real P-clamp.
I want to set aside one screw and washer because this pack is missing one next to the v-hook (they left a hole but no screw) but you need to open the pack for that... and I plan to make an afternoon out of the inside of the pack down the road where I'll replace the v-hook (needs to be done from the inside), add the missing screw, and reconnect the power supply from the battery pack to a USB battery. (It uses a 2 pin JST connector -- no soldering required. But getting the right wire adapters is tricky and I'm letting other people test their solutions first. Soldering may be better.)
Love your videos. Keep them up. One thing, I’d like you to look into, if you are interested.
I was watching another proton pack unboxing video and they mentioned their serial number on the back.
I, like you, was under the impression that about nineteen thousand were sold but your serial number is twenty two thousand and something.
Can we find out exactly how many were produced and how were they distributed to fans? It seems like the number doesn’t correlate with how early fans ordered them.

The total was 19,000+ backers...does this mean actual backers or packs sold? Many backers ordered more than one. There could be 30,000+ of these things out there.

I would simply like to know so that you can say with confidence that your pack is number whatever out of whatever number made.
I wish they had included a small certificate stating your number out of how many they produced.
When it comes to the v-hooks on the earlier Hasbro wands, the angle of the channel is a bit inconsistent, it seems. Mine fits the pack's hook fully and securely...but man, is it hard to line it up absolutely perfectly, in order to get it on. I might end up going the magnetic route, but either way, I'm looking to upgrade the v-hook.
Still, for $400, this is an *incredible* product, out of the box. I've been planning to mod it to more of an 84 style ever since I pre-ordered it...or backed it...or whatever. haha That's always been the plan, and I started modding it the day it arrived. So replacing a v-hook is no big deal, and the stock hook keeps the wand on the pack just fine til I swap it out.

Jason! Love your vids! Do you or anyone know where I can find the screen accurate yellow tubing? That’s the only part that looks off to me.
Have to agree this is the absolute coolest toy I've ever bought. And I'm kicking myself now for not buying a second one to mod into an 84.
I really wish the hose from the pack to the wand could have have been more flexible

One mod that I am working on that I haven't seen at all is, spinning lasers coming from the end of the wand, and a small fogger to highlight the lasers. it won't be movie accurate, because that is basically impossible. But the effect should look cool to actually project something out of the wand.
That sounds awesome ! Where can you get lasers for the end ?
@Stanz I got these "raver" gloves from a chinese website. Kinda pricey. But it has a red and a green laser rigged up to a little spinning motor. Runs off a specialty battery with a ubs charger. I have to find the best way to mount it on the end and run the wires to a trigger.
I have thought about how to do that as well and I was thinking electricity like a Tesla coil. If you make the tip electrified and the wand insulated enough you could push enough juice through it to hit other "Ghosts" made from metal and that would give you the most close to accurate effect you could make. I have thought about it from every type of way including A.I augmentation, manipulating polarization in things like Sunglasses etc. A Tesla coil was the best I settled on for regular real world type effects without having to have everyone wear a pair of special glasses or something

I grabbed some colored electrical tape to add over top of the faux tape areas on the wires for an easy upgrade to pair with the Alice Frame.
I'm ready for Hasbro to do the ghost trap next.
I finally got mine yesterday. Not sure why it took so long, but I'm glad it got to me.
I have the hook issue and have to replace the one on the wand or on the pack (or both).
Did contact Hasbro but they aren't helping out 'we don't have those spares'. So yeah, won't troop out untill that hook is fixed. 🙂
However adding the ALICE frame (LC2 here), makes such a huge difference. Also my back likes that more :D

@@Ins0mnia365 I checked them out and the v-hooks are for the Spirit Halloween pack. I'd buy one, but not sure if the holes align with the Haslab pack and I don't want to drill any extra holes into it.

@Bon Orbitz Try BenOfKent or CharlesWorthDynamics who I know hold full size versions of pretty much everything. I have already purchased a replacement shock mount among other things to upgrade the pack using metal parts instead of plastic
How in the world did you hold both of those in the thumbnail?!
You mentioned that it stays on 5 minutes but I’m experiencing only about 35 seconds with the wand attached. Have you noticed that?
With the wand on it should go for about 90 seconds, the usual time it takes before the wand times out. If it's only 35 seconds, sounds like there's an issue with the hose connection.
@@GhostbustersNews I think it's around 30-35. I've read on Reddit others experiencing the same thing. I don't think that it's a hose connection as I would assume it would be kind of wonky with the lighting/sounds/control. I read about some mods for the 'keep alive' that some people are working on. I wish there was some plug and play options thought. It sounds like that Hasbro didn't want to invest the time in adjusting the electronics for controlling the pack with the wand, which is a huge downer.
This toy is freaking awesome!
I made some ear tabs that fit into the bumper from the free Q-Pack files, and a spacer to go between the bumper and cyclotron, and you can drop the Q-Pack bumper right on

Hey there, I was wondering if the alternate functions of the wand like the slime Blower and such change the cyclotron lights?
It does not. Lights stay red within the cyclotron.
You can also hide your leather wallet in the flip section as well which is acool bonus feature in itself
Could you post a link for the yellow cable? Does the stock one come off easily?
As mentioned in my review, I hope they do more Ghostbusters backing with Ghostbusters 2 equipment, like the Gigameter or the Slime Blower.
If they do the slime blower I'd back that campaign in a heartbeat!

The time limited power down is a safety feature, since the pack is powered by those big D-Cell Batteries, they get warm after usage, and if they get to warm they can explode, which would cause Damage to your Pack and possibly the person wearing it.

Their also in on the exterior of som people,s house alarms avoid those 4D batteries at all costs
Just curious, is anyone gluing the wires on to the pack so they don't fall off? Is this a good idea?
I wore my proton pack to make dinner as well......Great minds think alike, I love this one, and cannot wait to build my Mack's Factory one.
luckily with mine I have had zero issue with the V mount, it fits perfectly secure all the way.
I love my pack. I wish I could've have bought another one to mod.

Hey, Jason, I absolutely loved the review, especially after just receiving my pack this past Wednesday, and I’m loving it almost as much as you are. I do have one question. There is a black switch under, I believe the crank box, that looks identical to the power switch and I cannot figure out what it does.
It is a dummy switch. They added the red one for Afterlife to mimic the elevator scene placement of the switch. Adam Savage talks about it in one of his videos.
it does nothing. it’s purely just for modders. hasbro included the switch so that modders can use it for whatever they want

This pack can be converted to an '84 with a little bit of work.

Still can't believe I have this thing in my room, it's nuts. The only critiques I have, aside from the v-hook connection and yellow flex tubing is the hose that connects the HGA to the "beam line", that cylinder to the left of the Clippard valve. It's noticeably softer and feels more fragile than everything else on the pack, to the point where I feel like it might tear if I mess with it too much. I might change that out later, but just a nitpick I have.
I'm not sure if i just found an EASTER EGG or i'm just late to the party, i got my haslabs proton pack and had to wait 2 weeks before i got my neutrona wand... i messed around with it this morning, i cant replicate it yet but it threw me with awesomeness! using the wand on normal proton stream and i pushed the plastic back in the barrel and the sound of slimer went through both speakers either side, it caught me off guard and then put a huge smile on my face.... is this new??
I’m quite happy with my first mod, changing the switch for switching modes to the extra switch so I don’t have to open the pack every time I want to change.
Now we need a ghost trap!
I Love my Pack and Hasbro make a great Job . But a many of Packs have Electronic issues my too 😩 and this ist really Bad .
The sound of removing the ribbon cable in Afterlife mode was definitely inspired by the Real Ghostbusters.

How did you remove the vent window on your wand?
Opened the wand up and carefully cut it out.

I'd love to see a video detailing all of the different easter eggs this things has. I found one last night that I CANNOT replicate, and it's driving me crazy: Powered up the pack via the wand, turned everything on, and as I was powering it down, the pack suddenly played Slimer's SCREAM from the end of the first movie as he's flying towards the audience. It's only happened the one time, and I have no idea what triggered it!
Appears to be totally randomized. In recording the footage, I had Slimer play about 5-6 times, but the Terror Dogs, Mini-Pufts and Muncher wouldn't share a word (or grunt), despite hearing when the camera wasn't recording.

Great video demonstration! I’ve had my ALICE frame waiting for over a year. Where can I source the flexible yellow hose to replace the tattered one on the pack?
What does the switch under the red warning sign do?
Not a thing/just for show. Hoping to possibly re-route the switching of modes to that switch at some point.

Another note I noticed by accident. That 5-10 minute minute window when you switch the pack on. Extending the tip and closing it powers the pack for a few seconds then shuts off also
I'm so glad that this pack came out as well as it did for everyone. I'm still waiting. FedEx lost mine (or most likely stolen en route), so now I'm going through Hasbro to get a replacement sent out. Hopefully I can get a pack sent out and not a refund.

got mine about a week ago -- great stuff. My only question and Ive seen nobody address it, what's the other switch on the middle right do on the pack? (not the power switch) but the one slightly down and to the right under the hydraulic pumps sticker?
The prop makers had to add an "on" switch (the 84/89 packs never had one despite the scene in the elevator of it being switched on) and added it in the wrong place on the first attempt. They kept the spare switch in the pack and all replicas made for filming and Hasbro said they kept it functional for user mods.

Where did you get the replacement sleeve for that cable? Also, re: that cable, how much trouble did you have disconnecting it from the chamber cover? I haven't been able to disconnect it and I don't want to force it, possibly breaking something.
Disconnect cable from the cyclotron cover and slide the yellow sleeve off without disconnecting the pack end of the cable. Then slide the new sleeve on. They are like Chinese Finger Traps so squeeze the ends toward each other to make the sleeve shorter and it will slide off/on the cable easier. Pull from one end and it tightens up on the cable and won't come off.
@@parajerry Disconnecting the cable from the cover is what I'm having trouble with. I can't get it pulled apart and I don't want to force it and risk breaking it.
Is there a date that it's saposed to be released in stores. I didn't get to order mine😞
Not going to be sold in stores in general. A few places might have a few as stock but expect to pay at least £600+. Best bet is eBay and now as the market is flooded driving the price down.

Did anybody else not get any instructions when unboxing their pack? I received nothing - I have contact Hasbro about it, as it’s a nicely printed manual, and I was hoping to include it as part of my display.

Even after watching all the unboxing videos I was so happy and thrilled when I opened mine up the. I was born in 84 and for as long as I can remember I've loved this movie, so I have wanted a pack literally all my life. I always intended on keeping this pretty basic as it came, but now after only watching a handful of videos, I'm kicking myself for not ordering another to customize. The only things I plan on doing is adding an Alice frame, yellow flex tubing, a proper ribbon wire clamp and a little bit of painting. I am one of the ones that have had an issue with the vhook. I already messaged hasbro to see if there's a chance of somekind of retro fit kit, if not I'll just buy a proper matching set. I didn't know about all the Easter eggs until I saw this video, now im looking foward to messing with those features. I didn't even know the ribbon cable mount came off so easy. I guess my only question is what is the switch on bottom the of the crank generator box for? I just noticed it today and don't believe I've seen anyone mentioning it yet. Great video, keep the coming.

If I decided to buy a "HasLab Proton Pack Replica" what "Tiers" should I get, or should I say....."The Ultimate Tiers" that it comes with?.....if I buy this pack I'm like a collector who wants everything that this comes with to make it a pack that one can be proud of and it's value hoes up along with its "Tiers!" I love mine but the main fear I have is with the flex tubing wire, for me it doesn't seem to want to disconnect from the cyclotron . Anyone have any tips?

I'm gonna jump in and call out something unfair on a lot of reviews of the pack! The vibration motor is loud, but it sounds WAY worse when recorded through a mic or camera! It completely throws it out of proportion and isn't anywhere near as bad in person.

Mmmm doubtful.... They've included switches and stickers to make this in to an 84 pack.... Would seem daft to do that and then make one on top of that.
It,s very impressive for the price but it needs the correct ribbon cable. +You need to get rid of that awful 4D batteries powersource/replace it with a9volt battery instead
