Kinda disappointing that the scooters were electric kickscooters and not moped scooters. Depending on where you are mopeds beat even motorcycles cross city, as you can follow bicycle routes that bypass traffic lights, but you still effectively have the speed of a car. On my commute going by moped bypassed so much traffic lights that it turned a 5km commute from a 40 minute traffic jam by car into an 8 minute ride. Even with legal lane splitting for motorcycles here, you can't avoid being stuck at lights for minutes on end during rush hour.
I have an idea for Zack and Ari. Ride scooters from so. Cal all the way to the top of Washington state. 300cc to keep it safe, like a yamaha xmax300 and a Vespa GTS 300. I know the boys love scooters and seeing them tour on a couple of scoots would be a fun journey to witness.
So sorry, but $21000.00 for a motorcycle is NOT a "good low price." It's high end for the bikes you are riding. $12k is a decent price for most normal commuters. The CBR1000 is a much better deal if you want a commuter bike.
In the US there's no limit to what bike you can buy and getting the license doesn't require actual riding experience, so I would say for most people with money in LA those are actual beginner choices 😂
Especially useful for adding the datapoint of money comparison, two bikes almost as expensive at the Tesla with two empty seats, and together drawing near double the fuel power as the Tesla. Still, for most of the trip, a decent commuter or beginner bike could match near the same speed with less than half the price and fuel, so it's still useful data.
@2K_Unlimited I don't think there is any real benefit to using a motorcycle like that beyond personal enjoyment. Unless you're regularly hitting 120mph I think any middle weight streetbike will do it. Also both bikes TOGETHER cost as much as the Tesla. Tesla was $50k.
@@justcommenting4981 You're correct, a neighbor has a 50cc scooter and does about as well as I do for this short commute. I wanted something for touring and commuting without getting two. This race heavily favours cars and motorcycles. Just by being in LA that should be obvious. The distance is quite far for a bicycle and the traffic isn’t even that bad. Also doesn’t factor in things like parking at the destination. So you can draw the conclusion that a motorcycle is the fastest way to cross LA - a sprawling urban mass where lane splitting is legal. NGL here a car was only 2x faster than the bicycle whilst it allows for 2-3x the speed on public roads within a city. That should tell you something about how congested car traffic is. Bicycle infrastructure is important and can even improve car traffic.
@@DavidJonSpem That's a pretty mean hill to get up to, too! Not normal for most people's valley commutes. If the commute were a flat 18mi with similar infrastructure/traffic I bet the difference would only be 10-20 minutes.

These guys do the best of these types of videos on YT💪🏽
YES!
Thank you SO MUCH for continuing to putting these out.
CT XP on a Sunday AUS time! 💋 Perfect start to my day where I will be doing an advanced rider course in a storm 😆
I'm not in LA, I'm in the IE. But even with a motorcycle, I prefer the bicycle. I show up to work less stressed. It's not the fastest, but I like it better. Coincidentally, I'm going to watch the rest of this later and go for a ride.
These videos are literally gold.
Nice Saturday CTXP surprise! Keep ‘em coming!
the laugh at the end 🤣🤣🤣 Laughs in money 🤣🤣
I just love when both of u share a screen. I cannot forgot the vid in which gsxr smashed a beautiful red ducati lol. GSXR POWAAAAAAAAR
11:40 the laugh then "get out of the way" XD
Shake n bake slingshot on the e scooters was hilarious!
29:22 the rich laugh was coming out 😂😂
i miss the road trip episodes, but this episode are gem. thanks guys
I'll watch anything with these two.
Love watching CT episodes. 😊😊
love the ctxp videos. good thing you guys chose modest motorcycles!
i love the spec breakdown and full gear suit up for the scooters.
I love you guys 😅. The motorcycle intro ✅✅
And rich 🤑 hysterical laugh at the end 💀
Great video. Love the motorcycle choice.
Lane splitting and filtering does save a lot of time. And it's way safer too, if done safely. Should be legal anywhere in the US in my opinion.
IMO motorcycles should also be allowed to overtake on the double yellows if traffic is stopped
Best show on youtube!
Great video guys, loving the error sign on the speedos 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Always fun and educational to watch, as usual!
