    I was born a twin. At 18 mo he died. I often wonder how different things might have been. I've always been into working out and always desired a partner, but never found someone as committed. I can't help but feel that I'd be that much further had I had one. I went to school for game design and really picked up the art side, if I had a programmer I could've made a game of my own a looong time ago. Since graduating, haven't been able to find work so I make pizza. Not a pity me story, just hearing you say "we" for everything makes me see how supportive brothers can be. I think it's awesome that you guys have helped each other come to the successful place you are today. Don't take it for granted.

    Hi Luis. We started working out seriously around 18 years old and began to see really solid results about 12 months to 18 months in. Our best advice would be to stick with it. It will take time, and there will be days when you're frustrated, burnt-out, unmotivated, etc. But just don't give up! You will be a Buff Dude.

    50/30/20 is insane
    I mean my TDEE is 2600 calories. 50% protein would be 325g of protein. This is just a waste of money and food, the body has no use for so many protein but actually need fats and carbs for energy and recover and at 20% fat hence 57g it isn't even enough for optimum health as a minimum of 0,4g per lb of bodyweight is necessary for hormone production, brain activity and so on. Even on a cut with 2200 calories, this would still be a ridicolosly high 270g protein and a seriously dangerously low 48g of fat. It's well known in the medical literatura that carb sensitivity requires a lower carb and high fat diet. An high protein, low carb and low fat diet is known as a rabbit starvation diet and it's pointless, expensive and dangerous.

    • @monkeymanprophecy
      @monkeymanprophecy 10 років тому

      Yep it is...excess protein can lead to gout...ouch....its all cool when you are young but as you age, you need to widen up and talk to a doctor before doing dumb things like that....one important organ that needs carbs is the the Brain (shit load of energy consumption)....and one organ that relies on fat is the Heart(one muscle that works out everyday all day)

    • @nate_8403
      @nate_8403 10 років тому

      I agree, especially considering all the questionable additives and practices with most meat production. And of course with so much protein your turds are going to be like bricks. These guys are clearly looking good right now though.

    • @Kieva_Storm
      @Kieva_Storm 10 років тому +3

      Cody Jones The liver converts excess protein to Glucose, which it makes sure the brain gets first. Also, 50/30/20 is not percent of calories. That's the macros. They do not reflect calories. Most of their calories are in the Quinoa and bread, sources of carbs.

    • @tomzhang5644
      @tomzhang5644 10 років тому

      *****
      What he means is that the 50:30:20 means 50g of protein for 30g of carbs for 20g of fat, but since fat contains more than twice as many calories as carbs and protein for 2600 calories daily its 260g of protein, 156g of carbs, 104g of fat. 260g is still too much though.

But like I said in the video, feel free to mix it up with other recipes such as the healthy pizza, cookies, etc. This is just a "base," by no means is it the only routine we go by but it's our solid foundation which has helped us build muscle and stay in shape.

    • @james_rose
      @james_rose 9 років тому +5

      It is usually made by grinding the turkey,mixing it with seasonings, and then reforming it into a shape resembling bacon. Turkey bacon more often than not has a really high sodium content, around twice that of conventional bacon, so make sure to check the sodium levels if your considering buying it.

    Guys, firstly, I'd like to say I appreciate the fact that you've broken down what you eat.
    Only please learn how to season food. You can use a variety of herbs and spices on chicken like paprika, pepper, salt, oregano so on so forth. You can mix and match so long as it smells good.

    • @adonirammccarthy3994
      @adonirammccarthy3994 9 років тому

      It was the way you initially phrased it. When you said "please" it gave me the impression that you wanted them to do something for YOUR benefit. So I am left to conclude that you really meant "I would enjoy your vids more if you talk about seasonings," or "you and others will enjoy this food more if you season it." Either way the "please" gave me the impression that you were somehow asking for permission to season your food. Which is odd. Hence my comment. lol. My bad. ; )

    I don't count my macros, still very much a beginner, but I have a super similar daily diet (smaller portions of course lol) I'm 19 years old, 5'5 145lbs. I'm so glad I went into this after doing much research on dieting as well as exercise form because I'm seeing so many gains. I'm trying to get through to my friends who have a shitty diet and do nothing but bicep curls at the gym now. They've been at it for a year+ and I've already achieved more strength and mass in 3 months than most of them. New to the channel but love it already! Thanks for all the insight guys.

      NoR3m0rs3 Brother, if you think raw chicken is just a small hygiene issue you are setting yourself up for a huge fail.. look it up... Im not bashing the guy, Im just concerned for him, I like their vids..
      You would lose your money on that bet easily :D..Bacteria grows & thrives in the fridge.. Raw chicken is notorious for salmonella.. Which leads to severe fever, cramps, stomach problems etc...
      A small number of people who are infected with salmonellosis develop Reiter's syndrome, a disease that can last for months or years and can lead to chronic arthritis.
      Do you really think its worth the risk, being a lifter and all?

When they're done, add water and some brown rice and cover til rice is done. Throw in a can of black beans and season. If you want, sautee some peppers, onions and/or mushrooms with the chicken for added flavor and nutrients. Good stuff yo.

      Literally proven the cholesterol in eggs does not affect bad cholesterol. Eggs are a good source of it. Also, your body produces 2000mg of cholesterol on its own. You'll be fine, trust me.

    • @matthewforrester8515
      @matthewforrester8515 8 років тому +9

      +Haroon Ishaq Eggs have gotten a bad rap. You can eat lots and lots of eggs and have no ill side effects for most people. I eat up to 4-5 eggs every day and after getting my blood work results there are no issues whatsoever. I would highly suggest you eat the eggs whites and yolks. Egg whites are good for you but the yolks is where the overwhelming majority of your nutrients are. Don't overcook them as it will breakdown the proteins but eating both is far superior to just the whites. Most people don't understand that you need to eat fat with the protein so the body can better break it down.
