You seem to be doing ok despite the heat . As far as your science question , yes it is convection currents also you are seeing the land the way its been for thousands of years . You can actually find sea shell fossils in the desert being it was once an ancient sea bed with other parts tropical forest . The ice shelf during the ice age never went down that far so its untouched the only thing missing is the dinosaurs and a bit more water .lol . Not sure where you are exactlly considering what the valley offers in visuals , other then heat . Also Francis I love the tone on your vids , very cinematic and so well edited . A tip too help with the nose bleeds is to keep some water in your mouth it prevents your sinuses from drying out or use a saline nasal spray that is what i do to help with the nose bleeds.

Wow you guys are almost done with the desert, well done! I have driven through that area and your videos really make it prettier than it is in a car…. I am looking forward to the Yosemite video, it is one of my favorite places on the planet! When you get to Oregon, you will be amazed how green and how many trees there are in it is comparison what you have been through. (As long you come the western side of Oregon, the east side is desert).

California is certainly not all burgers and Dennys. Thing about the US is it's such a big country it's better thought of as a loose federation of smaller nation states. Honestly, England feels more like the same country as my home state of Massachusetts than say, Arizona does, in a lot of ways.
