Really liked your review. I think you pointed out really important aspects of the car both positive and negative. I have a 2022 Model S which I really like even with a few annoying flaws but my guess is I will have quite a few optIons when I am ready for my next car. It will be interesting to see how the EV market progresses with technology changing so rapidly especially with battery advancements. I will look for more of your review videos.
An £89k car shouldn't have that many shortcomings. In the past, it wouldn't have been acceptable to customers, or the manufacturer for that matter, but it's an EV, so that's okay nowadays..........And no heated seats at that price, they're taking the michael! Thanks for the honest review Vicky.
I see you wrestling with that Pod-Point charger on every one of your videos and I'm now compelled to tell you that you're supposed to rotate it first, either CW or CCW, then it will slide out easily. I know because I have one. That aside, you are definitely my favourite car reviewer, Victoria 🙂
Mercedes has messed up their naming again. The EQC is the electric version of the GLC but the EQE is the electric version of the E class. What are they going to call the electric C class?
Not everyone is a lottery winner in this country and the faster car manufacturers learn that simple message that we can not afford their luxury brands and instead bring out smaller, more exclusive cars that fit our bank balances, the better.
Peugeot e-208? Renault Zoe? Vauxhall Corsa-e? VW ID3? Hyundai Kona EV? Kia Soul EV? Mini E? BMW i3? Nissan Leaf? Honda E? Fiat 500 EV? Mazda MX-30? MG ZS EV? How many 'cheaper' EV's would you like????
Is it connected? How many operating systems ? What type of batteries and max charging speeds ? Was this a ground up build of an EV or a gas model converted to electric ?
It is connected. Has plug-and-charge. Has a very good route planner (seemingly one of the best, and maybe in fact THE best currently). Peak CC charge speed is 170kW with a decent charge curve. Mac AC speed is 11kW with a 22kW option. It is a dedicated EV platform and not adapted from a gas model. Its main real problem (putting aside price) is its cargo space.
Seems like they’re all abandoning 2dr Coupé and convertible due to low demand which is a shame. Mercedes C Class and E class coupes will be combined into the new ‘CLE’ but no EV version planned sadly
@@BHBeckenbauer Hopefully they can release some official photos of it cause I keep seeing stuff. I pray it’s in C Class pricing territory and less of the E lol.
No heated seats on a £70k+ priced car...???? WHAT...??? 😵💫 That aside, in (possible) answer to your question, "Why is it not a hatchback?" as I understand it, Merc's stalwart E-Class demographic - the German taxi driver - demanded that it had a boot to "separate luggage from passengers"... Though, I can't see many taxi drivers forking out £70k on this model, can you...? 🤣
Nice car, great range (at probably 325-350 real world), but I can’t help feeling that EQE will alienate many current E Class owners - especially those driving estates with huge boots. It’s a bit too expensive for many, and as the review suggests, too close to EQS in design? But nearly there, Mercedes… drop price and offer an estate version!
Hatchback reduces rear seat head room which is already not great in this car (though the Tesla Model S manages to have one for a similar size it seems)
These kind of reviews are the reason why I personally miss Jeremy Clarkson and his team. 0 emotion, lots of bs talk in this one - at least for my taste. Ah well … can’t get all people to like you and ur stuff. I think u tried and as comments show: did actually accomplish for some folks. So I guess - to the next one, just not with me :)
I had already hit the 'like' button, but then you just had to say that godawful Americanist 'frunk' (despite the fact we've actually had boots in the front of Beetles and 911's for decades here..... the front boot was NOT invented by Elon bloody Musk!). Sorry, you're one of my favourite reviewers, but yes, I AM that petty - I HATE that stupid word, so no like from me. I honestly would have expected better, considering so many other reviewers on this side of the pond are at pains to ban that word from our common lexicon. 😠
I'm American and find the word "frunk" funny, but I don't take it as seriously as you. If you don't like the word you can call it what you want, it's not that serious.
Seems very mediocre, especially for the price. Is Mercedes relying on brand loyalty and hoping buyers don't look elsewhere? Even the G80 Electrified looks better, and that's a converted ICE car 😂 edit: ah, it's the range. Still, doesn't a Model S get better range for cheaper? 🧐
@@jonasf94114 yes, I hadn't realized they discontinued the lower end models. Kind of crazy how Tesla thinks their ten-year-old design can still be worth >100k

The first year depreciation is horrendous.

EQCeCe
EQS sedan & suv
EQE sedan & suv
EQC there’ll be a sedan too, already have suv
EQB mid suv
EQA smaller suv
EQG will be available too
@@beinjar5634 From what I am reading there will be a new EQA Sedan and the next gen EQA SUV in 2024. So this is the way they are going

Any signs of a Merc EV estate yet ?
Great review, a great presenter 🙂👍
thankx for review
Welcome!
so basically buy an e class diesel for £30k and spend the rest of the money on fuel for 20 years and it's still cheaper than an eqe. ok....

wow heated rear seats. It's only taken several decades for Mercedes to allow that option in the UK. Or no heated seats for £73K, an absolute bargain.
That's EQ GLE?
I am truly counting on the Germans to produce C/E Class sized EV coupe. North America isn’t goin to give me one. I shouldn’t be forced into 4 doors 😭

It's just too similar to the EQS. But the EQS is better. But admittedly more expensive.
Has anyone noticed that Mercedes infotainment system is a bit Vista days feel to it?? Feels dated actually.
I thought that too I found it actually nice after testing it for real
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it

The wood effect dash looks awful IMHO.
Thoroughly minging!
Alright?
Excellent review of a rather average car
It would be better as a hatch back
When you say "get a couple sets of golf clubs in there" you're gonna loose a lot of viewers, just saying...
Why no 5-door? I believe this was a major misstep. When a manufacture offer an 'Exclusive trim', expect to be rolled.
Hatchback reduces rear seat head room which is already not great in this car (though the Tesla Model S manages to have one for a similar size it seems)
Very Citroën C6 in profile
That's what I thought when I saw the side profile.
It looks like a melted blob! I don't find this appealing at all.
