    TIP: if you use those flush cutters like in the video for the zip ties. Put the flat cutting end next to the zip tie latch. It will cut the excess flush making the end nice and flat. This makes it easier to adjust things without cutting yourself with the sharp end of the zip tie slack.

    Most guides and builders don't bother with this, but I'm a strong advocate for: plan your cable runs before building, and run them before anything else as much as possible.
    Specifically, I often find that before you install the mobo or PSU, there are small cutouts and spaces that are blocked by installing them which can allow for some cleaner runs. Often with the front IO cables.
    Also for most cases, running EPS before screwing the board in makes it easier to plug in. Like, a lot.

    • @drunkhusband6257
      @drunkhusband6257 3 роки тому

      I've never seen a modern case that blocked cutouts after the mobo was installed

    • @tarfeef_4268
      @tarfeef_4268 3 роки тому

      @@drunkhusband6257 haven't built a whole lot of PCs, then :D Or at least not with a large variety of cases. I've seen plenty. Tbf not always "cutouts meant for cables" per se, but "holes that happen to be the best place for a cable", that happens a lot. More often there's some holes in the PSU shroud the PSU will block which can be used for bottom-of-the-board stuff, or perhaps there is no good cutout for a cable so routing it just directly from behind the mobo crop up vs "the board literally blocks a hole", yeah. The board itself is fairly 2-dimensional, so blocking cutouts isn't likely. But there have been many cases where routing cables from behind the board directly to where they need to go is ideal, and for that you wanna run em before screwing it down.

In about 30 minutes I was able to tidy it up a lot using small and large white cable ties with all the non used cables pushed into the DVD drive bay area & tied down with yet another cable tie. So it doesn't look super tidy but it's a lot better! And I would have used velcro ties as well but could not find them on sale where I live.

    Hey man I appreciate this video. I sort of rushed my latest build and didn't really bother with cable management. This gave me the kick in the pants to do it lol

    Screw cable management. As far as im concerned the computer case is just an electrical box. By the way its not easier to trouble shoot - its harder since you cant see where a cable starts and ends

    I feel like there could be a whole video just on cable managing RGB components. I've been able to get most of my cables looking pretty, that is until I start working on the RGB cables

    I route cables smallest to largest. The larger cables hide the smaller ones when you stack them for a cleaner look.

    LTT did a study on if cables can disrupt airflow enough to raise temps. There was no difference even when they started shoving t shirts and stuff in the pc.
    Great vid though love your content

      The point is to have a neat, clean and presentable look. Cable management isn't for temperature control.
