unfortunately s2 didn’t release in time for the emmys eligibility this year (they missed the deadline by ~2 weeks) and I’m forever pissed at amc over that
@@chan6625 I'm hoping they will be eligible for season 2 in 2025, and that would give them some time to promote for the awards. Armand swore that he'd never harm Louis and he kept his promise. Except he had the coven harm him, went after Claudia, messed with his mind, and refused to help him when he needed his coffin and blood in San Fran. Still never "harmed" him. He did the same to Nicky telling Lestat "I didn't harm him" even though the other coven members bit him multiple times leaving him unconscious. Armand is a menace. 😂
Such a menace and he’s so good at victimising himself. He didn’t know about the trial and was imprisoned during it even though he directed it, Lestat’s selfish for just up and leaving him even though he forced Lestat to join his coven and almost killed Nicky forcing Lestat to turn him leading to Nicky destroying himself. He always has an excuse to absolve himself.
I think the guiding star for show-Armand's character is that he's unable to allow himself to be alone. He cannot stand it and will do anything to have SOMEONE, just SOMETHING. Whether that's the coven or Luis doesn't really matter, ideally he'd want both. I think his comment about having complicated feelings for the coven might be the most truthful thing he's said on the show.
Jacob Anderson is a brilliant and talented human being; recently found out about his singing too and now am a fan-which was unexpected. \excellent video🙂
The thing that got me was how was Armand so shocked and heartbroken when Lestat left him when he was the reason his mans died. Like if they didn't kidnap and drain him then Lestat wouldn't have to turn him and he wouldn't have lost his mind and killed himself. How can you hurt someone he cares about then believe that your relationship is genuine? He was gullible, delusional, and a coward. Armand wasn't honest about a single thing, fell in love too quickly, and ran away from everything instead of facing his issues and fears.
OMG I haven’t thought about this. Armand holds this grudge against Lestat and hundreds of years later is still portraying Lestat as selfish when in reality he essentially killed Lestat’s companion and is still failing to take any accountability for his actions. He’d rather believe otherwise people are the problem be that Lestat just upped and left him rather than the fact he literally gave Lestat no option but to be under him. He literally went and attacked him in public to get to get him to join the coven, took his liver, drained said liver to the point of almost death causing Lestat to have to turn him and promised to help him learn his powers but somehow still thought their relationship was this love story and is still upset centuries later that Lestat left him. He’s delusional.
It seems the people who watched the first season watched this one too, so I think people watched it. It'll gain more of an audience once it's on another platform that more people have access to.
And a lot of people from other countries have pirated it but have said they would have preferred to watch it through regular channels to support it, so making it available would only help.
Disagree about Armand and the Coven. Everything we know about his relationship with them comes from him & what he's told to Louis. IIRC, the only scenes we have of him interacting with them from Louis POV are the introduction and Armand putting them all to sleep with single "enough!". Santiago still visibly defers to Armand on stage in 2x07, when he says "I'm about to violate the Fifth..." aka "please, please let me end him" when Lestat goes off script again.
I only found the show when I finally got COVID in December. Bed ridden I just happened to come across it on BBC iPlayer. I gave it a go and found one of the best, most rewatchable TV shows out there. Hopefully it will get more eyes on it when it appears on Netflix, cause it certainly deserves it.

So much hate for Armand but he's honestly my favorite character in the Vampire Chronicles series, and The Vampire Armand is my favorite book. I can't wait to see how the show explores his story. Just wait y'all, your heart will break for him 😭😭😭
Don’t worry he’s extremely popular and beloved in the OG fandom despite his mistakes as he’s so human. Armand should be frustrating not really loathed.
I love this show, its awesome and its so alluring and draws you in... Love it! And I cannot wait till season 3. And I now have the first season on dvd now too
I just began your video, so forgive me if I'm wrong, or mentioning something you already discussed. But I think that part of the bad marketing has to do with their budget. It is clear that this show, especially S2, wasn't cheap to make, and they probably invested most of their money into making this show and not marketing it. As fas as I know marketing a movie or a show is really expensive, so part of me is happy that they did not sacrifice the quality of the show in order to have money to fund the marketing. But maybe I'm wrong on this one. I hope by having the first season on Netflix will help promote this show. I would not want however another platform taking over IWTV just because AMC did such an incredible work, and if it was done by Netflix it would have been just as bad as many Netflix shows like the Witcher etc. AMC brought the quality, unfortunately AMC is not popular especially outside of the US (I'm from Europe). Also I think that the fact that the show is somewhat not popular has given AMC the space to be risky, without trying to please a massive fanbase. In any case, I really hope that the 3 season will be just as good in quality, and gets the promotion it deserves. Also we really need more interviews with the cast!!! Sorry for the long comment!
I was so attached to Bailey as Claudia so was kinda sad to hear she wouldn't be reprising her role-however Delaney is such a gem, and as you say they both embody the role in their own way but Imo it worked so well as they both have that child-babydoll look and the acting was flawless
this show flew off my radar too. i wasn't interested in vampire genre anymore because most shows are kind of similar, i came across dalainey's video from the show where she is asking the man in the audiende to show his face so she could come back to haunt them all :D that intrigued me, it looked like a witch hunt or lynching so i looked at the captions and saw the name, relised i had watched the movie, the clip put this show in my awareness, later i had nothing else to watch and it was there on the homepage on primevideo after i discovered the clip so decided to watch it in background while working, but the show quickly grabbed my attention esp lestat! This actor has done some of the best acting in recent times and didnt even know about this actor! the point is i also skipped the show , wasnt interested in watching even though i have historiucally enjoyed vampire genre, but now that genre is portrayed appealing to teenagers so it doesnt interest me anymore but this show is quite grown up, the play with memory, perspectives, it is interesting. for me Daniel is the weakest link, his acting is very plain , he doesnt emote much and his dialogue delivery is very flat. After lestat, i liked Santiago actor, amazing acting from him, the show is very well produced with amazing acting, editing and cinematography, i am obsessed now and looking forward to season 3 where lestat would be at the center, and i already cant get enough of lestat.
@@HuntingViolets yeah I have seen a few clips of the show online, he seems have an amazing range for acting and you can see the work he puts in, I am really impressed by his acting unlike most actors these days
It’s interesting because AMC is host to some of the most critically acclaimed and beloved shows of all time (breaking bad, better call saul, mad men), and it had no problem marketing them. IWTV is just as good as those shows. I think AMC is afraid to market it in the same way because of how unapologetically queer it is.
I just discovered this show and ommgggg I can’t stop thinking about it!! I live in Dubai so i was cracking up at the Dubai references cause they were soo cringe and barely researched but this is my favorite show of this year!!!
Nobody watched? I thought this was a hugely popular show. I don't watch many shows, but my girlfriend got me hooked during season 1...i subscribed to amc+ just for season 2.
It’s a shame, the ratings were not great but it has a cult following. But it’s now on Netflix so I think that should help popularise it especially leading up to season 3.
IMO they marketed it to "gay" americans (because I certainly saw ads for it). they're not marketing it world wide and right now there's a lot of backlash to gay media being advertised widely in america, unfortunately. I'm not surprised if they have a more limited marketing scope.
Gonna be honest here, ladies like myself, regardless of their age, would actually not be turned off by the hot guy on hot guy action in this show. If it gets marketed to all the teenage Yaoi fangirls, we're saved 😂 As an actual show, the quality of this one is so high that any cinephile would LOVE IT.
okay haven't finished season two, but i'm here to quickly leave a comment and like the video, so you'll get that sweet sweet attention from the algorithm and iwtv gets more love!!!! will be back after finishing s2
Yeah, all of those actors who CLEALRY received theatre treaning .. They're so good. And Jacob Anderson, what a fantastic actor. I'm saying this because obviously I've seen him on thrones, but he really didn't do much besides look beautiful next to two very beautiful women in the same frame 😂 So to discover that he's ridiculously talented, that was a very welcome revelation.
I only just fpund out about season 2 today. Ive brought it on prime before even checking any trailers Ive read all the Anne rice books. Im ok with the akterstions from the books. It just feels a little reimagined, it feels ok and im enjoyinh it Ill start watching season 2 later when i get a free moment
For me this series is one of the best series I have watched in a long time. The story I think is much better than the book portrays it. Sadly I didnt see it become popular as other shows.
Oh it is so much better than S2 of HoTD, like by leagues... And it recontextualizes parts of season 1, so surprisingly, season 1's initial score went up for me too! Though I still think S2 is my personal favorite of the two. Anyway, beautiful show. Absolutely stunning. The acting the writing (That dialogue), the framing and cinematography, the set design, the soundtrack.. Even Alan Taylor makes better episodes on this show than he does on HoTD 😂 I could drool over this season of this show, literally drool. "They don't make them that good, it's just impossible" was one of my statements that I'm very happy withdrawing thanks to this show ...
AMC DESERVES JAIL JAIL JAIL A LIFE SENTENCE THE COMPARISON OF MARKETING BETWEEN IWTV AND THE 14 WALKING DEAD SHOWS IS CRAZY, AND OUT OF ALL OF THEM IWTV IS THE ONLY ONE THAT COULD BRING THEM AN EMMY COLOURBLINDNESS IS SO REAL
I honestly can't think of a better show... ever. I just repeat it over and over. The acting is sublte and tragic and beautifully written. I read the books decades ago, and the series actually elevates the books. People aren't much mentioning the music, which is poignant as well.
Netflix isnt doing it much justice either. Itll only be available in the US. Ive watched this show at least 7 times. They deserve the views but the restrictions are stopping that
And i gotta say, marketing may have been not great, but the word of mouth and the goodwill the show is getting with every single new viewer will hopefully make up for that. I'd rather they spend money on making the show, rather than marketing it (Sideglancing Max really hard right now)
New subby! Your perspective was truly captivating, We shared similar thoughts but you mentioned a few things and I was like 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 so binge watching show again 😂
I feel like Armand thinks of himself as Louie and Lestat's second choice so if he gets either one of them out of the picture he has the opportunity to court the other. I think he does love Louie but he also wants to be with him to spite Lestat. For Armand, the way that Lestat took control of and reinvented his entire way of life only to run off and find Louie without so much as a note, is a deep source of humiliation which he can only undo either by getting back with Lestat or getting with Louie because Louie did to Lestat what Lestat did to Armand, he charmed him, humiliated him, and then he ran off (at least I think this is how Armand views things). But then Louie just starts making him feel like second place again because he isn't over Lestat and Lestat is back and he's mad at Louie so he figures the perfect way to reconnect with his ex is to have a little meet cute at his ex's ex/his current boyfriend's execution. Then after all this Lestat won't commit to getting rid of Louie because he's not actually over Louie either and Armand just wants one of them to love him but neither of them do because they still love each other, but Lestat is too much of a spiteful bitch to rat Armand out so he spends the next what like 80 years taking whatever love he can get form Louie knowing the whole time that Lestat is just waiting for his secret to come out so they can get back to their romance. And all of this is why I think Armand let Louie throw him around without putting up a fight despite being a much older and more powerful vampire because he's just so crushed to be rejected by both of the men he desires. I may not have made it clear throughout this but I think Armand is a slimy scoundrel and he's super toxic I just really enjoy trying to figure out what's going on his fucked up head.
Brutal haha. Yeah that's how I see it too. Armand must've based his idea of Lestat on whatever Lestat served him or else he would never assume Lestat would actually watch Louis die (yes I did dedicate myself to repeating The Name multiple times in a sentence that mentions Armand just once lol). The 77 years sounds to me like the biblical *infinity*, as if Lestat waited to be reunited with Louis for the whole friggin eternity. Well, it is a lifetime of waiting, so that figures.
Great video even though season 3 will focus on lestat i think we will learn some more things about armand because i did read the vampire lestat it's probably going to be a long while before we get a season focusing on armand life he does have a book on him called the vampire armand book 6 in the chronicles i haven't read it yet
I believe that Lestat was more powerful than Armand because Lestat had not only the blood of Magnus but he also had the blood of akasha, Armand was an ancient vampire much older than Lestat but only had Marius’s blood
yup. I've honestly been avoiding IWTV spaces online because I'm afraid of what I'll see lmao. I dare not visit the subreddit. But if we need that crowd's viewership to keep the show going, I'll accept.
IWTV is the best show I've watched in years, but I doubt it's going to get any award buzz. HBO's lobby is impenetrable and AMC is known for poor marketing.
I love this show! I've read the books and seen the movie and this series , by far is better than the movie in 1994 ❤️🩸❤️ I love vampires & Sam Reid playing Lestat has blown my mind!
I watched it, despite Louis and Claudia being race-swapped. LESTAT as he was meant to be. Reid's portrayal is everything I envisaged from the books. Physically as Rice portrayed him. His voice, the way he moves. I'd swear he WAS a vampire.
Hey, I don't appreciate being called "no one" (I haven't even studied at the House of Black and White), but I'll let it go if your video gets more people to watch. This show is so much better than _The Bear_ on _The Bear's_ best day. I like that AMC has kept the show on, unlike what would have happened on Netflix (as a Netflix series), but they should be be doing more promotion.
Daniel wasn't being disrespectful, he saw right through Louis' nonsense. His whole job is getting the story straight, and Louis is an unreliable narrator.
unexpected attraction to eric bogosian is so real 💀

So much hate for Armand but he's honestly my favorite character in the Vampire Chronicles series, and The Vampire Armand is my favorite book. I can't wait to see how the show explores his story. Just wait y'all, your heart will break for him 😭😭😭
Don’t worry he’s extremely popular and beloved in the OG fandom despite his mistakes as he’s so human. Armand should be frustrating not really loathed.
He's definitely my favorite character as well. He has such a fascinating story and the actor they have play him is so perfect.
I don't familiar with books past the interview. But he is my favourite from the show
i didn't watch it until this week because it came out during my exams and i binged it all in a day 💀 IT'S SO FUCKING GOOD WHEN IS SEASON 3
Probably later next year since production starts this fall 🍂🍁
The actor who plays Santiago he's name is ben daniels he was also in the tv series the exorcist and the show the crown
@@angelaholmes8888 Ohh he really impressed me with his acting! He was so present and you can't see him miss any moment, he was through and through
You might want to look for Sam Reid's other show, _The Newsreader_ also. Very different role.
@@HuntingViolets yeah I have seen a few clips of the show online, he seems have an amazing range for acting and you can see the work he puts in, I am really impressed by his acting unlike most actors these days
I don’t think there was any weak link in the acting by anyone, they all acted their butts off, Daniel grew on me more in ssn 2
I saw the first season on Netflix and was hooked
It’s interesting because AMC is host to some of the most critically acclaimed and beloved shows of all time (breaking bad, better call saul, mad men), and it had no problem marketing them. IWTV is just as good as those shows. I think AMC is afraid to market it in the same way because of how unapologetically queer it is.
I just discovered this show and ommgggg I can’t stop thinking about it!! I live in Dubai so i was cracking up at the Dubai references cause they were soo cringe and barely researched but this is my favorite show of this year!!!
🎯 I also believe it should be on a larger platform than AMC.
i think we are going to be in for a ride with the whole armand and daniel situation
I know armand is manipulative and everything but ......... ahaha 🤪🤪😍
Assad is just too good an actor and he’s too pretty to hate.
Massive public marketing in Norway for season 1.
YES iwtv is honestly the best show I've ever watched. Its something so special, i just wish more people KNEW about jt
I ADORE this series!!! Can’t wait for season 3!!❤
Subscribed to AMC only for this show so they better renew it
Ssn 3 starts filming this fall
so excited for season 3!!
If it gets marketed to all the teenage Yaoi fangirls, we're saved 😂
As an actual show, the quality of this one is so high that any cinephile would LOVE IT.
@@samf.s.7731 I'm bisexual (cis woman) and the sex scenes were fucking HOT
Homophobia and racism are why this show isn’t marketed well, and why the show keeps getting snubbed for awards
okay haven't finished season two, but i'm here to quickly leave a comment and like the video, so you'll get that sweet sweet attention from the algorithm and iwtv gets more love!!!! will be back after finishing s2
💯 the best show on TV! The acting is literally incredible
Yeah, all of those actors who CLEALRY received theatre treaning .. They're so good.
And Jacob Anderson, what a fantastic actor. I'm saying this because obviously I've seen him on thrones, but he really didn't do much besides look beautiful next to two very beautiful women in the same frame 😂
So to discover that he's ridiculously talented, that was a very welcome revelation.
I only just fpund out about season 2 today. Ive brought it on prime before even checking any trailers
Ive read all the Anne rice books. Im ok with the akterstions from the books. It just feels a little reimagined, it feels ok and im enjoyinh it
Ill start watching season 2 later when i get a free moment
For me this series is one of the best series I have watched in a long time. The story I think is much better than the book portrays it. Sadly I didnt see it become popular as other shows.
Also thank you so much for this wonderful video!!!🥰
Oh it is so much better than S2 of HoTD, like by leagues...
And it recontextualizes parts of season 1, so surprisingly, season 1's initial score went up for me too! Though I still think S2 is my personal favorite of the two.
Anyway, beautiful show. Absolutely stunning. The acting the writing (That dialogue), the framing and cinematography, the set design, the soundtrack..
Even Alan Taylor makes better episodes on this show than he does on HoTD 😂
I could drool over this season of this show, literally drool.
"They don't make them that good, it's just impossible" was one of my statements that I'm very happy withdrawing thanks to this show ...
This is probably my favorite show of all time, and the fact that it got barely any press is criminal!
People aren't much mentioning the music, which is poignant as well.
this was the best retrospective an explanation of the show, you did amazing and deserve a subscribe for this one love
This is an amazing show. Yes i liked the movie, yes i read the book, but this series right here.....everything. 💯👌❤️🔥
Netflix isnt doing it much justice either. Itll only be available in the US. Ive watched this show at least 7 times. They deserve the views but the restrictions are stopping that
I laughed at the title because it’s so true it just doesn’t scream watch me.
You know, I have no idea why I didn't watch it before.
It's so freaking fantastic 🤩
And i gotta say, marketing may have been not great, but the word of mouth and the goodwill the show is getting with every single new viewer will hopefully make up for that.
I'd rather they spend money on making the show, rather than marketing it (Sideglancing Max really hard right now)
I watched it i binged it i never stopped
New subby! Your perspective was truly captivating, We shared similar thoughts but you mentioned a few things and I was like 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯 so binge watching show again 😂
Thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed the video ☺️
I mean…pretty much, yeah!
this is my new favorite show since it came out its the only thing i was looking foreward to while it was going
Great video even though season 3 will focus on lestat i think we will learn some more things about armand because i did read the vampire lestat it's probably going to be a long while before we get a season focusing on armand life he does have a book on him called the vampire armand book 6 in the chronicles i haven't read it yet
I see someone talking about this brilliant show and I give a like.
Great breakdown ❤
The audio for this video is playing back very sharply on my phone, you may want to look at your set up.
I’ll be looking at that, I also just got a new mic so hopefully that helps. I hope you enjoyed the video though.
I believe that Lestat was more powerful than Armand because Lestat had not only the blood of Magnus but he also had the blood of akasha, Armand was an ancient vampire much older than Lestat but only had Marius’s blood
Love this show
TikTok did its big one
It’s gotta be Lestat and Claudia for me 1 & 2! Close 3rd is everything else
I Love This Video ❤
It will be coming to Netflix, and after that the weird Stan culture will get to it.
yup. I've honestly been avoiding IWTV spaces online because I'm afraid of what I'll see lmao. I dare not visit the subreddit. But if we need that crowd's viewership to keep the show going, I'll accept.
People if you want to support the show. Purchase it. It’s only 20 bucks each season. That is less than One new release movie.
Bought both seasons. Not a cent wasted
Can someone tell me what the opening song is?
1:23 I only know about it via the fandom tbh
Being older doesn't necessarily make vampires stronger. How well and often they feed and the strength of their maker's is also a factor.
Not the battered woman lol
IWTV is the best show I've watched in years, but I doubt it's going to get any award buzz. HBO's lobby is impenetrable and AMC is known for poor marketing.
I love this show! I've read the books and seen the movie and this series , by far is better than the movie in 1994 ❤️🩸❤️ I love vampires & Sam Reid playing Lestat has blown my mind!
Hello netfilx!!!
I watched it, despite Louis and Claudia being race-swapped. LESTAT as he was meant to be. Reid's portrayal is everything I envisaged from the books. Physically as Rice portrayed him. His voice, the way he moves. I'd swear he WAS a vampire.
❤
season 3 seems to have betted marketing at least?
Hey, I don't appreciate being called "no one" (I haven't even studied at the House of Black and White), but I'll let it go if your video gets more people to watch. This show is so much better than _The Bear_ on _The Bear's_ best day. I like that AMC has kept the show on, unlike what would have happened on Netflix (as a Netflix series), but they should be be doing more promotion.
I can’t even watch the Emmys this year, knowing this show was not nominated….
A whole crime
I don’t think it was eligible for the Septembers emmys but it will be for next year, let’s hope it gets some nominations.
@@danisdeepdive still 😭
Daniel wasn't being disrespectful, he saw right through Louis' nonsense. His whole job is getting the story straight, and Louis is an unreliable narrator.
I wanted listen to this, however you must invest in a decent microphone and re-record first.
Louis wasn't hallucinating Lestat. Lestat was using Vampire mind tricks to stalk Louis.
Uuuuuh, noooooo?
This Claudia had a horrible Southern accent.
