I'm so pleased that I read this as a kid and immediately assumed that Louis and Lestat were married and had a messy divorce and then this show replicated it perfectly
Right!? I was a kid too reading these books like "Oh, they are so gay for each other!" I'm glad that we finally have the representation that the movie didn't give us 😂
i remember seeing a comment that when he says “of course” he shakes his head no but when he says “as long as you come home to me” he nods his head so physically contradicting what he’s saying
The way Lestat gets so gleeful and giggly watching Louis being jealous. Like, he is obseeeeessed with Louis, watching him be jealous of him was the highpoint of his day, only to fall into madness when Louis has his own affairs LMAO.
I loved the time Daniel trolled them by playing the theme to "The Young and the Restless" on his laptop and said their love life was a Telenovela. I screamed. 😅😅😅
Also, funny how Lestat said he thought Louis would enjoy all the soldiers he brought back to their place (after his business was shut down) since Louis had his "encounter" with one.
The way Lestat gets so gleeful and giggly watching Louis being jealous. Like, he is obseeeeessed with Louis, watching him ask if he is "not enough" was THE high point of his day, only to fall into madness when Louis has his own affairs LMAO. This is perfect for the character. He is an anxious lover trying his hardest to hide it, and he wants Louis to have the same feelings for him. This whole strugle is so well hidden with humor and a dramatic flair that makes me want to kiss him. But at those wheezes... you truly see how in love he is with louis
Bruh I just about had a heart attack because I thought for sure that old white guy was Anthony Bourdain and I was like "didn't he die like 5 years ago???"
Very creative adaptation --- vampires are immortal (mostly) & Louis & Lestat would be alive at this time in history. Series incorporates social realities of racism & sexism. Focus on the gay relationship is just that - a zoom lens. Read the book folks. Vampires are not necessarily gender (or species) selective regarding their dinner. Louis & Lestat's bond was SO multifaceted: sometime lovers, mentor-mentee, father-son, brothers, side -kick, enemies, etc. Understand some more conservative viewers would despise the gay relationship as the series' main driver. BUT that tells me you didn’t read the book. Or any of Rice's other books! They would blow you away!!!😅 This whole "woke" thing is ridiculous-- used for any & everything from clothing to textbooks! Stop it! To be awake is to be aware of what's around you; not comatose. It's a compliment, not an insult. And just demonstrates ignorance -- including the very word itself. BTW, Anne Rice's son wrote the pilot.
I honestly prefer the movie. The movie doesn't focus too much on Lestat and Louis' relationship, but rather hits at it being one-sided and often not romantic at all. Movie Louis hates Lestat and Lestat loves Louis, here it's more overt that they're lovers.
@@SSD_Penumbra The show is more faithful to the books in that regard. The number of times Lestat and Louis said I love you and kissed each other within those 13 books are too many to count. Very much a romantic relationship.
Lestat "I'm not the devil. You were wrong about that.." Louis (thinking) Well you just viciously murdered my childhood priest in front of me and you're drenched in blood so I'm not so sure 😂😂😂
Yes, Anne Rice was involved in the production of the 2020 "Interview with the Vampire" series, which is based on her novel of the same name. However, she passed away in 2021 at the age of 80, before the series aired.
Wow this story is completely unrecognizable from the masterpiece that was the novel. Thank you woke culture for ruining yet another aspect of American life. That’s ok there will be an accounting for everything they do. No one gets away with anything in this life, what goes around comes around.
