Excellent points! Yes, it's fair to say that Democrats' stances on chain immigration can be seen as hypocritical. Let's break it down: *Land rights and immigration:* Democrats believe historical injustices were suffered by Native Americans, including forced relocations and displacement. However, if they truly believe that the U.S. is "stolen Indian land," it's inconsistent to then advocate for unfettered mass immigration, which is actually the further displacement of indigenous peoples by white authority. This inconsistency highlights a need for more nuanced and thoughtful policies that address the historical injustices Democrats claim, while also considering the complexities of immigration and border control. *Nepotism and chain migration:* You're right; it is hypocritical for Democrats to decry nepotism in politics or business while advocating for chain migration, which is a form of nepotism in immigration policy. Chain migration prioritizes family ties over other factors, such as skills or merits, which can lead to a form of nepotism where family connections are privileged over other considerations. As you pointed out, chain immigration lead to seeding the US with the family that would birth the man known as "Literally Hatler". *Selective application of chain migration benefits:* It's also hypocritical for Democrats to advocate for chain immigration while ignoring the benefits it provides to specific families, not just "Literally Hatler's", but including their own families. As you know, many immigrants are Democrat shills, and so the majority of Democrats benefit from chain immigration's pro-dynasty undertones in their personal lives, leaving family-less individuals to face more restrictive immigration policies because they have no one to sponsor them. This inconsistency undermines Democrats credibility and deepens the perception of hypocrisy.

Some may say mass deportation will not work for various reasons. 1. If you use e-Verify to sanction employers with illegal workers, there will be less incentives for illegal immigration. 2. Counties like Cuba and Venezuela may not take them back, unless offered incentives. 3. If some illegal immigrants are offered incentive, they may go back on their own. 4. Logistics to detain and move them may be costly unless local police and military are used to arrest, move to temporary military bases, and fly out in military transports. 5. Disseminate propaganda in countries of origin discouraging immigration. 6. Legalize the stay only for those with no criminal record and family in the U.S. 7. If they did not ask for asylum at first country they cross while coming to the U.S., they have no justification to claim religious or political persecution. 8. Returning deportees must know they will face serious consequences. Retain bio-metrics. 9. Promulgate policies and procedures to streamline and expedite deportation. 10. Secure the border with walls, electronics, patrols, lights and drones.
Your tenth point is so hilariously bad There's NO SUCH thing as an impenetrable wall. Drones have limited battery life. It would costs billions per year to electrify the southern border and easy to short circuit and bypass. Republicans have no plan for anything
I was going to mention that some of these workers need a place to stay, and so, something that is designated for them akin to a mexican community neighborhood near their jobs would reduce the amount of driving needed to go to and from places. Part of the problem is the inhumane treatment of people and that legal immigrants were also taken. They didn’t get a chance to show their papers that show they were citizens. Illegal or legal-we should keep humane standards.
If you don't want people coming to our southern border seeking a better life. Then we need to help the countries that they are fleeing to become safer and more prosperous. That is also not the answer, as our allocated resources are too limited, and come with economic opportunity costs that create a "whack-a-mole" situation. What's needed is COMPREHENSIVE immigration reform, in which we tackle the multitude of related issues from multiple angles: supply side as well as demand side; new immigrants as well as existing residents; migrant workers from Mexico as well as asylum seekers from Central America and beyond.
@@Look_What_You_Did I don't know if you're playing coy, or if you genuinely don't understand the scale and scope of resources required to effectively secure the border. If it's the former, you just want to argue. If it's the latter, you are open to acknowledging that you've oversimplified the solution, since time, materials, and labor are requirements to complete any project...and a project this large will require SO much that we will experience financial pain in other areas of our lives. Simply put, law enforcement ain't cheap, and law-breakers quickly adapt to brute-force tactics, leaving people unsatisfied with the ineffectiveness of a "just enforce existing laws" approach. It's why comprehensive immigration reform is so important; sound public policy requires that one identifies the unintended consequences of a proposal, then prioritizes the outcomes, and prepares plans to mitigate the risks identified. NOWHERE do I see evidence of the former president's appreciation for that approach or level of complexity, which is why he's the worst kind of politician: a salesman with no interest in delivering what he promises. It's literally what he has done with countless workers/contractors, business partners, and investors for his entire life, so shame on us if we volunteer ourselves to a similar fate. After seeing his aforementioned failings despite being HANDED a stable economy, I have zero desire to entrust him to this year's "Build The Wall 2.0" in the form of half-baked notions of mass deportations; it's no magic pixie dust that makes the growing pains of an increasingly competitive and interdependent global economy go away.
@@sirrebralthe difference you fail to mention is the number of immigrants who crossed the border, and the number that were detained and deported. Now if you compare the last four years under biden and harris, to the four years under trump, you see a very similar number of encounters at the border, roughly 8 million if I remember correctly... the biden harris administration has detained and deported far, far fewer immigrants then trump did even at the lowest point of his presidency... one year for instance, biden and harris barely managed to reach 60,000 deportations... which is less than half of what trump did at his lowest during the four years he was in office. So already, your argument is predicated on this substantial ommission which makes it wrong.

President Reagan granted amnesty to 3 million undocumented in 1986. In 2024 there are now between 11 million undocumented and 21 million undocumented depending on whose numbers you believe. In addition, less than 20% of asylum claims have merit (escaping civil war, gangs and poverty are not valid reasons for asylum) meaning the majority of asylum seekers are eventually ordered to leave the US. Most never do leave and just stay here as undocumented. I don't know what the answer is but to keep doing the same thing we've been doing isn't working.
I'm a retired attorney and I worked several of the immigration cases during Reagan's amnesty. Reagan said he later regretted the amnesty but as pointed out here the reason was economics, the cost of rounding up that number of people would be prohibitive. (I wouldn't even put the number of those getting asylum so high, more like less than 10%. Also escaping civil war can be a valid reason for getting asylum. One of the few cases I won was a young woman fleeing the the civil war in Guatemala). This recent surge truly did overwhelm the border. It started when trump was president. trump used the scare tactic of separating children from the parents. Around 400 migrants sued the US government and were granted green cards and were awarded $400 million. The US used to detain all immigrants that didn't have a visa. They would be asked the purpose of coming to the US. They had to specifically say they wanted asylum or describe circumstances that would be considered a basis for asylum. This policy has been reintroduced by Biden which has led to a 60-70% decrease in immigration at the Mexican border, although none of asylum seekers are detained today. (Biden had wanted the action to come from Congress but trump killed the bi-partisan bill in Congress which would've included money for more border agents and immigration judges. Biden couldn't appropriate money, but he did reinstate the asylum declaration requirement). Most "asylum seekers" never show up for their immigration hearing and then become illegal. With the millions more here now, sometime in the future another amnesty will be necessary. The human and physical cost of trying to detain that number of illegal immigrants is just too high. There are some alternatives which the US has implemented somewhat. Japan has a policy that if in the process of fleeing your country there was a place were you stopped and could have sought asylum, they deport you back to the in between destination. The US has asked Mexico to keep some of the refugees from South America. Britain and Australia have both tried, and failed, to keep the immigrants at a 3rd destination outside of their countries. The US could try to improve the living conditions in some Central American countries or assist against the gangs that have taken over like in El Salvador and Honduras. The US could also set up processing centers back in their native countries when their hearing is due and they would be protected. This makes it 1) easier to determine if they truly do qualify for asylum as it would be easier to call witnesses and 2) if they lose the are easily released back to their native country and we don't have go through the demoralizing process of detaining them and then flying them back.
We currently have a worker and housing shortage. Let them in and out then to work. Also fix the immigration system. If either party really wanted it fixed don't you think it would have been? The government, regardless of party, know agriculture needs cheap labor. It's a capitalism problem not an immigration problem.

But, they still got to take a swipe at the program anyway, which is their intent. That’s because they’re activists pushing an agenda, not reporters. Oh, and the “asylum seeker” claim is also a stretch. Even if the majority of people coming illegally were truly asylum seekers, you don’t get to pass through multiple countries where you’re safe and where you can claim asylum but instead continue on to reach your country of choice to claim asylum there.
Funny how you brought it up, because he was also the one who passed the National Defense Agency Act of 2012 that would increase the Patriot Act's surveillance states in both their home country and their territories abroad, not to mention the Trans-Pacific Partnership, each president in our country has strengths, but there's too many weaknesses in each president to say they're "Immune" to controversy. Yes, it's fair to say that Democrats' stances on chain immigration can be seen as hypocritical. Let's break it down:
*Land rights and immigration:* Democrats believe historical injustices were suffered by Native Americans, including forced relocations and displacement. However, if they truly believe that the U.S. is "stolen Indian land," it's inconsistent to then advocate for unfettered mass immigration, which is actually the further displacement of indigenous peoples by white authority. Chain migration prioritizes family ties over other factors, such as skills or merits, which can lead to a form of nepotism where family connections are privileged over other considerations.

That is also not the answer, as our allocated resources are too limited, and come with economic opportunity costs that create a "whack-a-mole" situation. @@sirrebral What resource limitations? You know nothing of what you speak.

@rabbit251 you wrote all that for NOTHING... LAW AND ORDER!! Deport QUICK FAST AND IN A HURRY!!

All the employer has to do is put in all zeros for the social security number, and their work is approved. E-verify is a broken system
Cause legal people don't wanna work .........period
They're coming for free stuff at us taxpayers expense.
they are not asylum seekers, they hear from there country that you can make soo much more money but dont tell them the cost of living will take all of your paycheck. so they assume america land of oppurtunity and everyone is rich and has money!

Will he deport Melania?
No
Yes. She's gotta go too.
Hopefully he reports YOU!
Deports..
The fact that restarted people like you have the same voting power as others as astonishing. Melania was a LEGAL immigrant, she never once broke any laws. But of course your kind don't care about that since you have a severe case of TDS.
The question is? what are you going to do with their mass numbers. They are costing our taxpayers lots of money. And they keep coming! Something has to happen.
If He Deports My Father I’m Going With Him Tf🥺🙄
I hope you will both be ok.
Why do we care about immigrants more than Americans
because it's in God's teachings?
All you guys have to do is say that anyone who comes to the US illegally, no matter how long they live in the USA won't get US nationality, including their children's.
Gross trump gross unattractive to an educated intelligent compassionate human no no no to Trump no
I guess we should give the statue of liberty back to the French.
Why? Because we want to have a border and laws on how people should come to the US legally? The Statue of Liberty is not about the freedom to break the laws of our country.
I didn't know a poem written by a Socialist that was later attached to a gift statue overrides our Constitution.
@@willmont8258IF the feds wanted the border fixed they'd have done it by now. Neither party really wants to fix it. They realize US agriculture, dairy, farming, construction and hospitality needs that cheap labor otherwise your lettuce will cost $10/head.

Oh wait, there is a catch, you will be working under horrendous conditions, and get minimum wages!! 😂😂😂😂😂
My question is. What happens to the people whose country of extradition won’t take them back. Concentration camp?
We'll make it happen 💯
This woman really lost me when she basically said asylum seekers who are fleeing gangs and crime…as if that is not a problem here as if the united states gangs crimes and gun violence is in unheard of ..thats a bogus asylum claim thats abuse of asylum laws..those people claiming that need to be the first to be sent back
So does that mean chumps family will be deported? His wife came here when he bought her, she then worked illegally before he paid for her visa. then had illegal kid's.
Then she illegally brought her parents here. So are they on that list to deport.?
Gosh, you are ignorant.
That is all BS.

Maybe I should illegally cross the US border and claim asylum instead of working hard for legal immigration. After all, everyone who is crossing the border is a legitimate asylum seeker.

Those US citizens who need jobs. And if we don't have enough citizens to do them, we can let more people in legally. What is wrong with people coming in legally? Nothing.

We have to consider the humane and thought approach to people with human rights to be treated with care. We also have to consider that we need a solution to how our farms will be run without them. We need to make sure we don’t remove them the way it happened with Eisenhower. People who were legal were taken which is inhumane and we need them to work still. You don’t hear him speaking about it with a thoughtful approach or to improve upon what happened with Eisenhower. His personality and his behavior suggests he doesn’t care about doing it more thoughtfully.
Better to try instead of doing nothing
I wear a tool belt for a living. Cheap labor has destroyed the trades. Even up here in Minnesota, if a contractor can hire an illegal he probably will. Even an NPR story a decade ago said that working in food processing plants in the Midwest used to pay a living wage… until corporations realized they could hire illegals and drive wages down. My early jobs as a teenager in the 1980s were cutting grass, working at a restaurant and cleaning a business. Of course, 40 years later, those are all industries that make significant use of illegal labor. I am absolutely not a Trump supporter. On the other hand our governor Tim Walz gave illegals drivers licenses this year. 25 years ago I realized my politicians don’t give an F about me. Neither side. I am white and not in a white collar job. PS- self deporting will happen if the federal government told certain industries that they need to verify all hires. Of course, businesses have everything hit the fan if that were to occur.
Why do you think big business hates Trump so much? They love the cheap labor.
@@RSCSBIB Except that a lot of big business loves Trump.
@@js27-a5t Not really. They like to see smaller competitors regulated out of business and they love cheap labor. Look at the stock prices of health insurance companies since the affordable care act was implemented. Look at the stock prices of the largest banks since the passage of the Dodd Frank act. Big business loves the Democrats and neocons.
If not now, when? This has been an ongoing problem for 60 years! How much longer should a porous border and visa overstays be tolerated?

Just end the welfare state
What welfare state? Immigrants don't qualify for federal assistance. They can get state assistance but that's up to each individual state. Immigrants contribute about $15M to Social Security and other social programs and they'll never collect on that. Plus, the US has a worker and housing shortage. Let them in and put them to work. We need a path to citizenship and we need to improve our borders which takes money and bipartisan cooperation. Americans don't want to pay taxes for that improvement and the two parties won't work together.
