- CNN's Wolf Blitzer pushes ICE Director Thomas Homan on whether the policy of separating immigrant families at the border is humane and what needs to be done to fix the issue.
If you are arrested for public intoxication, you will be separated from your children because you will be in jail. Go through a point of entry and claim asylum. Show up to court. Period.

Cael Ray Not if you are seeking asylum (Rewatch the video he talks about this). Let’s do a thought experiment though. You have a young 6 year old boy and a 3 year old daughter. You live in a poor part of Mexico. Many of the young men you see become involved with gangs and get murdered or become vile human beings that run the gangs. You hear about many young women in your neighborhood that are sexually assaulted or raped. You don’t have a “credible” threat to your life or your children’s lives because no ones targeting you personally but you know you or your children could be murdered or assaulted for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
As a parent of two young kids do you try to come to America by any means necessary or if you are denied do you go back to your neighborhood and accept the possibility of death and the complete destruction of your family?

If you try to enter the country in between ports of entry instead of at port of entry it is a crime and will be treated as such.
