I started out in travel trailers in a park back in 76 after Marine Corp. Rent was 45 a month, things were tight, but was really the best time of my life so far. I fondly think back to those wonderful times and wish I could relive them. I also think about the luxury a trailer has to offer after seeing how people in other countries live. Stay happy and thrive! Your good friend Vinny in good old Fla.
I think it’s great what you are doing! It sounds like you are very sensible and have taken the time to think everything out. I wish you all the best in your adventures!💕
I'm in a older camper in Michigan and I winterized by tapeing plastic to my screens and fitting foam insulation into the windows that open. I also cover the door screen to help block high wind.
As with most small dwelling, be it on wheels or otherwise, almost always we celebrate it by putting it on an open green land, or some kind of natural scenery to give the sense of expanse. In this place we can see that the lawn had been mowed recently, this implies a lot of landscape maintenance.
I've been working towards living in an airstream camper full time .. been in it most of a year now with it being moved numerous times before finally landing this space my friend now owns. It's on the plains and the winter was brutal .. I was parked inside of a barn for the worst of it. Propane and electricity available. Currently working on water on site so can stop hauling in jugs of water. I think this is great and also allows for moving whenever and traveling in future .. just bring home with! Remodeling mine has not yet begun .. I really like what she's done with hers
I lived in a three bedroom house in California, sold it, and whilst I was in transition to the West Palm Beach Florida I lived in my trailer that I never used till my move, I was happier living in that 8x33ft trailer than in my 2600sq ft home, I lived in it four years, I would do it again with out feeling any shame at all,it was very comfortable and great during the earth quakes. The main reason was the house required a twenty four hr dust mitten when I walked in the door.
I love this, much better then other videos I’ve seen, some people spend way too much money on renovating a bus or older rv. I like that it’s simple, this is what I plan on doing this to an older 5th wheel or travel trailer. Thanks for making this video.❤️

I love it ! It's beautiful!! What a joy and when my children go off to college I'd LOVE to live in a nice lil trailer like this!! I feel safer in smaller places. Right now I live in an 1800 sq foot home and there's so much unused space! I mostly use my bedroom ,bath, n kitchen! The rest is for the kids. But when they are settled and safe and stable, I'd love to do this but I'd like to retire and travel!! All over the USA! IM 43 NOW AND MY KIDS WILL BE OFF WITHIN FIVE YRS AND IF THEY WANTED TO THEY COULD COME WITH! ID LOVE THAT!
The 'fridge might work for awhile when the trailer isn't level, but we found out the hard way that it WILL self-destruct eventually. We knew better, but had pulled into a space that just wouldn't allow us to level... we tried for over an hour, then noticed we had a leak in our fuel line and the neighbors were getting ready to build a fire too close. We shut off the engine and stayed put. The 'fridge died a few days after we got home.
My wife and I have been living in our remodeled camper for about 4 months now (we are saving to build a tiny home and farm infrastructure on some land we own). Our camper is a lot smaller than this one though haha but we have made it quite comfortable.
Im in a very similar situation....not nearly as beautiful as yours, I put up a indoor warming tent over my bed...its amazing how warm i am while sleeping. Im in a 74 motorhome that is really bare boned. I left a gorgeous new stuck built and a controlling angry husband...in exchange for a very old non functioning calm peacefully space that truly has become my safe haven. We're soon approaching winter....its frightening . Ill be following you to see how your making it. God bless!
She really seems to enjoy and fit into the environment she created :D. One thing I would change on that trailer is to raise the bed to window-height. That way the bedroom would appear to be much bigger when lying down.
Merci très invitant site pour vivre une superbe expérience à la campagne. Bel environnement, she seems so confident and not stressed at all. Well organized lady!

Awesome renovation!! During the winter months cut the roll insulation and put it on a few windows and get a convection heater. The come with a remote and you can set the degree you want and it even cuts off. I love it! Doesn’t pull too much on electricity. I purchased from Home Depot. The brand I have is Hunter. But I’m sure any other brand would be fine. You can order online. We have Havoc, but a friend sore by it! I read the reviews; purchased one and use it every ❄️ set to 72 just enough to keep the chill off and room comfortable. If I had extra funds, I would definitely send you one just because I love your lifestyle! Continue to do what makes you happy!!!
I think it's great that she loves it and I totally understand the whole low cost living thing. Real running costs wasn't mentioned and she didn't sound too sure about how the home would be to live in in less than ideal temperatures. As much as I like watching these kind of videos they always point out the low cost (rent) and purchasing price but almost never really mention the real costs that are attached (heating/electric bill/maintenance) vs the appreciation in value connected to buying a house or apartment. What's the time span? That is a factor. Does she live there a year or two years? I don't see old used trailers going up in price. I'm not trying to put this video down. I'm just saying that a 200 dollar rent and 6000 dollars to buy the trailer is not a representation of what the actual costs are long term. Thanks for the video - kind regards, Jonas.
@@mjp5429 I absolute agree with you but that's also my point. My "gripe" with the video was that the introduction says that they are going to deal with the pros and cons connected to this living style. I don't see them dealing with any of that. It's the 200 canadian dollar pricetag in rent that puzzles me. I'm not from canada but I'm assuming that even there it's "highly unlikely" to find a camp site or lot or basically anywhere with water and electricity where you can park your trailer and have everything covered for 200 canadian dollars a month?
@@JonasRosenven not from Canada either but here in the upper Midwestern US there are plenty of old farmsteads sitting unused all together or if used at all it's just for the out buildings as the houses are either gone or in desperate need of a match. The key here is to network and ask around. Having some type of skill or even just extra time to help out is in your favor.
I agree, even her potentially having to pay $10 a week, is basically a water bill in an apartment, and at least in the apartment she would have heated running water
Skirt your trailer by surrounding it with bails of hay. Even under your entrances. This will help insulate it more during winter. Keeps the snow away underneath. Good luck for the winter. Canadian winters can be brutal.
We are in a fifth wheel, have been for close to two years. We live on property just out of town, so we have a nice space with trees and a pond. There are a few drawbacks since our trailer is older but we are working on them. We don't have running water either but that's not too hard to get around with water jugs. It is a simpler life, that's for sure.
Love it!! Great space. That is what I consider the perfect amount of space. Mine is 36 feet and I get a little stressed driving it because it is so long and the additional space in mine does not make it any more comfortable than mine. My question is; how much space does the radiator heat? I know you don’t want to keep the propane heat on overnight for safety reasons but what about putting a wood burning stove in? You are a very smart girl.💖

Best of luck to you.
Have a great day and thanks for sharing.
I don't usually like places like that. But that particular home is my favourite I've ever seen!
she needs a youtube channel ,she seems full of positive vibes that draw you in.
Way to go girl! Best of luck. You are on a good path.
Beautiful, warm and cosy home.
What a happy independent women! Her happiness is so calming and peaceful, good luck to you!
TRULY....I mean TRULY...these are my favorite videos here...the non house kinda videos. I really love this channel💗
We live in a non-house! A 41 ft sailboat is our home sweet home. we will be sailing around the world in 2020 :)
Cool camper trailer
Nice set up. I used an electric blanket in the fall at the campground (I own a camper trailer too but it’s parked at a campground)
Thanks so much for showing this - I guess we just have to be in the right place at the right time to find something we can afford! Her home is lovely!
I started in a very similar trailer - 1986 prowler. I'm now in a much newer, nicer, bigger trailer and find myself missing the little one.
I really like what she's done with hers
love her concept of being simple
I lived in a three bedroom house in California, sold it, and whilst I was in transition to the West Palm Beach Florida I lived in my trailer that I never used till my move, I was happier living in that 8x33ft trailer than in my 2600sq ft home, I lived in it four years, I would do it again with out feeling any shame at all,it was very comfortable and great during the earth quakes. The main reason was the house required a twenty four hr dust mitten when I walked in the door.
Arielle, your home is beautiful! You definitely have a great lay-out! I love it! Best of luck to you...........
I love this, much better then other videos I’ve seen, some people spend way too much money on renovating a bus or older rv. I like that it’s simple, this is what I plan on doing this to an older 5th wheel or travel trailer. Thanks for making this video.❤️
This is suuuper appealing to me.
I would be doing this if I were not getting married.
Last year I got rid of 99% of my belongings and I have never been happier.
I lived in a camper for two years , I loved it !!!!!!
Arielle is awesome! What an inspiration!
There is such a tranquility and glow about you. It's like you're the hero of a Ghibli film. haha. You have a wonderful home, I hope to be living similarly in a few years!
Stiggandr1 which studio ghilib film is that ? I'm curious as I'm a fan 😊
Looks like the mid west. Here in TN it can get pretty cold in the winter. Also very green here in spring and summer. Does she have problems with spiders or bugs, ants. She didnt mention. She seems happy, so good for her 😊😊 my son and wife and 2 young kids are RV ing in florida to save and become debt free. Hope it works out.
Good for you Arielle. Wisdom at your age, spread it around.
This trailer is huge and beautiful. It looks so vintage and homey.
I just love her spirit and mindset!😘
What an interesting and enjoyable interview! Well done!
Bravo&Brava, To Our Hosts!! Thank Yoy, For Providing This Forum, To Those Of Us, Who(m), APPRECIATE, The Learning More About, Of This Truly-Wonderful Lifestyle!! Peace&Harmony, To Us All!!
I just bought a camper and this is how I'm living I can hear the crickets while I'm in bed and I see the stars 😍 its amazing
So cool. It looks like a lovely airy studio apartment. Love it. I would be ready for that anytime.
You go girl! There is nothing like your own little space that's all your own
I like this down to earth van. Cosy and practical.
It does what it said on the lid lol
Im in a very similar situation....not nearly as beautiful as yours, I put up a indoor warming tent over my bed...its amazing how warm i am while sleeping.
Im in a 74 motorhome that is really bare boned.
I left a gorgeous new stuck built and a controlling angry husband...in exchange for a very old non functioning calm peacefully space that truly has become my safe haven.
We're soon approaching winter....its frightening .
Ill be following you to see how your making it.
God bless!
I'm glad you are safe now and wish you all the happiness and health in the world 💟 take care
How peaceful, what a great place, what a great life!!!
Very smart!
Blessings, 🐝
Look in to wood burning heater!! A small one will heat the whole tray with minimal effort and cost!
Tim Tidwell Why do people say they care about the ENVIRONMENT yet want to CHOP DOWN TREES for firewood? Sincere question....
She has to pay $200 rent which gives her access to electricity from the lady's property.
@@estherstrategicadvisor749 because most people use already downed trees for firewood. You're not hurting anything by having a wood
burning stove
A Good Possibility, As Are Pellets-Stoves.
@@estherstrategicadvisor749 I undertstand what you are saying about the enviornment, but there are a lot of tress that are already down in the woods, also if pine cones are available does the trick also. I am speaking from experience here, being a farmer and a soldier whom stayed in the back forties ...
@Tim Yes, a small wood heater would be perfect. I've seen people in tiny homes use pine cones to burn, which is a good resource!
Happiness is a choice of the mind, it’s not anyone’s responsibility to make or keep you happy. I love her independence and ability to be happy too. It’s an amazing awesome inspirational choice, thanks for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻💜🤗👵🏼🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
This was beautiful to watch, I live modestly at home as well.
Beautiful video. Quite refreshing, really.
YES-It-Is, ECQ!!
Good for you girl. We support our Grown up kids in many ways. It is ok if you have the land to park it. The owner is getting rent. I have seen people on here living in smaller0 surroundings with kids. It is a life i could not live as we have a large family and Grandkids. Keep safe x
The skylight over the bed is the best❤️
I love her gratitude. On point!
Thanks for showinG uS your very cozy lil home! If it were a lot warmer for uS Canadians in the Winter...a lot of uS would live like you!😄😎🌻⚘🐝🐞
I think it's great that she loves it and I totally understand the whole low cost living thing.
All valid points, but there's also home owners insurance, taxes, interest on a mortgage, etc. that comes with buying a house.
@@mjp5429 yes but why are these valid points never addressed and those you point out are?
Lovely young woman! Very resourceful!
A really nice young lady..good story..she has enough to be happy
Nice! A simple life is a better life❤️
Skirt your trailer by surrounding it with bails of hay.
This is lovely. Be safe.
What a pleasant person.
