    I hate when they don’t tell you what temp to heat it to, what temp to add fragrance or what temp to pour. That’s kinda the most important parts don’t ya think?

    would have been nice if you mentioned the temperature the wax was when you took it off and divided out and then what the temp was for when you added the FO and was it oz of FO to 8 oz of wax????. Sorry but the directions are not good, had I not been watching others who are detailed I wouldn't have a clue what you were doing.

    I would love written directions for this?
    I would love the temp when you took it off the heat, what was the temp when you added the color, temp when you added the Fo, and temp when you poured.
    I noticed you had wax left over in both bowls, so one pound of this wax actually makes more than four clam shells?

      Hello Donna! We melt the wax to 195 degrees, and add coloring. Drop melted wax temperature to 180 degrees and add 1 ounce of fragrance per pound of melted wax (you can go up to 1.5 oz if desired). For clamshells, we recommend to pour no higher than 150. All instructions can be found on our website under the Pillar of Bliss Wax description. Hope this helps! :) Have a great day! - Lima NG

      What is the purpose of heating to 195 degrees only to drop the temperature to add FO?

    The temperature was taken but it didn’t say what temp we were looking for or why. Also the measurements of the fragrance wasn’t addressed it was just dumped in.

      Hello! The maximum fragrance load for Pillar of Bliss for wax melts is 2 oz of fragrance oil per pound of wax. For candles, it would be 1.5 oz of fragrance per pound of wax. :) - Lima NG

    Hi. I noticed you poured wax in clamshell without a second pour. It says on instructions on your site you should use a second pour to avoid dimples in the wax is this true?

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому

      Hello! Sometimes with candles you may get sink holes that occur around the wick. This isn't usually the case for clamshells. The Pillar of Bliss wax is a great wax and one pour works perfectly for me with wax melts. - Lima NG

    What temp you do you pour at?

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому

      When pouring into clamshell containers, you want to pour around 140F because you are pouring into plastic.

      Hello! We do not recommend using Pillar of Bliss for jar candles, as it is a votive wax. You may want to look at our Joy Wax for container candles. It has a wonderful hot throw! - Lima NG

    Does the wax have to be a certain temperature before you add color/fragrance?

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому +2

      Hi! We recommend melting the wax to 195 degrees Fahrenheit, and add coloring. Drop the melted wax temperature to 180 degrees Fahrenheit and add the fragrance oil.

      @@Naturesgardencandles Hello how much FO did u add to the 8ozs of wax

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Patrice! We used, in this case, a half an ounce for 8 oz. When making wax melts, you can use up to 12% though.

      How do you clean your bowls and spoons after you are done?

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому +3

      It is easiest to clean them while the wax is still warm. If not you will need to heat it. You can simply wipe the wax off with a paper towel while it is warm. Once all the wax is out, you can wash them with dish soap.

    Thanks so much for the video! I also appreciate how many times you repeated in replies to comments your recommendation to melt wax to 195, add coloring, cool to 180 to add fragrance, and pour into clamshells no higher than 150. I have some lower flash point fragrances (127-147 range), would you recommend I not use them for this application? Thanks again!

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому

      Hello! We are so glad that you enjoyed the video! I personally use fragrances at a lower flashpoint in wax melts (such as our Loving Spell Fragrance oil and our Lemon Fragrance Oil) , but I add 2 oz of fragrance oil per pound of Pillar of Bliss wax. This works for me, and I've always had a lovely scent throw :) - Lima NG

    When you fill the clamshell to the top and it sets as a solid piece, do the individual melts pop out well or do you need to cut through the top first?

    what temp does the water have to be before you add the wax? approx how long does it take to melt? Do you keep the water boiling? Or do a simmer?

    • @Naturesgardencandles
      @Naturesgardencandles  3 роки тому

      Hi Mckenna! You can just keep the water at a medium heat. The amount of time that it takes to melt will depend both on the amount and type of wax.
