Hi Stanley, Always enjoy your videos, I have now a successful candle business and have used your videos as a guide to help prefect my own candles. I found it difficult to find the right sized wooden wick for my Soy candles, not only was it hard finding the best sized wick from wooden wick co it was also difficult to get a consistent crackle whilst using pure soy wax. Also I had alot of feedback from customers who never have burned wooden wicked candles about wicking out after lighting. Alot of people do not know about the maintenance that wooden wicked candles need. Could you perhaps do a videos showing the perks of wooden wicks and the disadvantages of them. Also different waxes or blends to use! Much love.
First of all Thank you for all your tutorials! I have learned so much, how do you add a warning label with the clear label's? I love the look of the clear label's for these!
OMG this video was a prayer answered lol I was trying to figure out what to do with the 4636 wax I have, I don't like it for candles and it's too soft for melts so maybe adding 4625 will help me not lose money lol thanks Stanley, you saved my wallet lol
I could really use a video on how to price everything using 2 different waxes, plus adding shipping, tax, and shoiwng equations of the math for everything would be amazing!!!
Thank you for all your help. For me I want to melt or burn all natural. I don't really care about the snap I can cut them if I can't break a piece off.
I have learned so much from you it’s unbelievable. I like the detail and the description of everything from beginning to end thank you so much. Gracies common sense
Your video came up on my UA-cam feed even though this a 2 y/o video. Just saying hello from WA State as I saw that you were local to me. I'm a new subscriber to your channel because I'm interested in making my own scented wax melts (and maybe candles one day) for personal use and gifts.
Loved your video. If you don't mind me asking, at what temperature did you pour it into the clam shells? Also, would this combo of waxes be good for snap bars and bark? Thanks so much! I hope to hear from you ❤
@@StandleyHandcrafted Do you know of a more eco form of packaging for wax melts? I find people are keen to see a reduction in plastic packaging, and appreciate things like using brown paper "bubble wrap" and biodegradable tape to seal cardboard boxes. I know it's not possible to always only use eco products but would be very interested in you know of any alternative for wax melts? Thank you very much.
Thank you so much for your tutorials they have helped tremendously. I do have a quick question. When adding 2 oz 4625 to the 6006, are you adding 14 oz of 6006 to equal one pound or are you doing one pound 6006 plus 2 oz 4625 totalling 1 lb 2 oz?
Hey, thanks for the video. Awesome help! I recently started making wax melts and pouring in a clamshell mold. Do you know what might cause little black specs that accumulate at the bottom? I notice them after all poured and set up once all is white. It's driving me nuts. I don't know if I should sell them, they smell lovely though. Happened to 6 batches that I made one day... big bummer!
I have hundreds of bath and body works candles from dumpster diving that are brand new the wax itself is fine. Is there a way that I can repurpose them into melts? Like melt them down and add another type of wax to them to make them into wax melts?
Question- when you put a cube or two of the wax melts on the melter, how long does the scent normally last before having to add more cubes or empty the wax from the wax warmer?
My experience is 4-6 hours for a good melt (frag oil). If it’s a strong note like a cologne or musk, 8-10 hours but with varying levels of fragrance. Strong scents almost morph. That is typical and normal. Most bakery scents, your lucky to get 3 hours.
I love watching your videos and using them as a guide. I am doing this as a hobby because it saves me money as opposed to buying them in the store. It's a relaxing hobby for me. I love the snap your wax melts have, however, I can't get that snap! I have used your exact blend of wax, right down to the ounce, and 10% (1.6) oil and my wax melts just don't have that snap I'm looking for! I have seen one other person use this exact blend and have good results. What am I doing wrong? Should I use more 4625 or less oil?
Dumb question for if a wax says it can handle a 10% fragrance load. Say I wanted to make roughly 100 ounces of finished wax at 10% fragrance. Would I take 100 ounces of wax and add 10 ounces of fragrance to it (9.091% fragrance weight) Or would I take 90 ounces of wax and add 10 ounces of fragrance to it (10% fragrance weight) Basically do you add 10% of the weight of the wax or have 10% of the finished product be fragrance? Your example of adding 1.6 oz of fragrance to 16oz of wax equals 9.09% fragrance in finished product (17.6 oz total) While adding 1.6 oz of fragrance to 14.4 oz of wax equals 16 oz of finished product with 10% fragrance oil by weight

That's awesome, congratulations! 4625 is meant for melts because its harder and can snap. If you're making candles you want a softer wax and only add a little bit of 4625 to help stiffen up the wax. maybe 10%

So can't make wax melts with soy wax 464? I don't want to use paraffin wax cause of the harmful chemicals it releases. I don't know how any good quality honest candle maker can sell a harmful product that will affect their heath and think thats good business. Lol
You can absolutely use soy for wax melts, they’re just a little softer. You might also look up some studies done on paraffin. It’s not near as harmful as we used to be lead to believe. Most paraffins today are food grade vegetable paraffins.

Not a criticism, but the music in background is distracting. Interesting video..thanks
Was it really that loud?
@@StandleyHandcrafted It was fine... not distracting at all. Thanks for the video! My sister makes melts so I'll send this to her.
@@katherine8979 Thank you :)
Thank you for your great teaching. Very helpful. Music is distracting and obnoxious. Teaching is awesome, when we can hear over the music. Keep up the great work. Maybe drop the ugly loud distracting disturbing music. Mucho Gracias
Hi and thanks for this. Can you remelt the over-poured wax to refill? If yes, do you need to heat the wax back up to 190?
I'm wondering that as well.
