  • How far we have come since those Angel Wax Melts I made 10 months ago!
    My #1 tip for making good wax melts is using the best wax!
    The best wax (in my opinion) for making wax melts is:-
    ECO SOYA MELT
    Everything else after that falls into place the more you make wax melts.
    SO, 10% Fragrance content.
    100 grams wax = 10 grams fragrance.
    1000 grams wax = 100 grams fragrance
    TODAY'S WAX IS "EcoSoya Melt" (almost impossible to buy at the moment but I got some from Craftovator last night and at the time of this upload, it is still available).

    I can't wait for soap class! I'll probably learn some very interesting things I didn't know, even if I've been soaping for 8 years. The melts are gorgeous! I've been using the Ecsoya pillar blend for mine, because you can't get the melt in the States just yet. It is working very well. I ordered 10 of the molds and had them sent over. Like everything else good, you can't buy it here! Hopefully Joe Biden will make a great deal with the UK in trade so it may become easier for us all!

      When I make wax melts in moulds like this; I tend to do it as is shown in the video.
      If I am making candles I would do it the way you mentioned. So for example, if my container holds 100g in total and I wanted to use 10% fragrance oil, I would take it off of my 100g rather than add it on top.

    • @EdensSecret1
      @EdensSecret1  3 роки тому +4

      Great Question.... I'd say you need to at least triple it for wholesale and x5 or x6 for retail at least. Just doubling it will never give you enough to sustain your business. Let me explain.... if the ingredients for your wax melt costs you 60p and you sell that wax melt for £1.20 the profit you made (60p) will only cover buying more ingredients and there will be no profit in your pocket, so all you will be doing is making profit to re-purchase the same quantity of ingredients., your biz can't grow and you will have no profit in your bank. Hope that helps.

    Hi karen how much of each fragrance oil do I mix together to make 1 fragrance for my wax melts

    • @EdensSecret1
      @EdensSecret1  3 роки тому +1

      Sorry not quite understanding your question, do you want to mix two fragrances together in one wax, if so, just do a 50/50 split 700g of wax, 35g one fragrance 35g of another. If you are in the U.K. Or eu you will need a new CLP for a mixed fragrance, however if you are anywhere else in the world our rules do not apply

    • @EdensSecret1
      @EdensSecret1  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you can use any glitter as wax is not a cosmetic. Plastic glitter is only banned in cosmetics because it can go down the sink and into rivers and seas. I really do hope the price of bioglitter comes down in price so we can afford to use it in everything because I actually prefer it x

    • @EdensSecret1

      I started using 494 when Ecosoya went out of business. The 494 is very difficult to get no frosting so as soon as Ecosoya came back I started using that again and in my opinion is far superior

    Can anyone help please as I’m still new to this.I’m using Ecosoya cb 135 and having some small frosting issues on the outside of the melts. I’ve tried stirring gently and pouring slowly at 60C the temperature they’ve recommended and not sure what else to try if anyone has any suggestions

    • @EdensSecret1
      @EdensSecret1  3 роки тому +1

      I used to use CB135, when I made my candles, I did try making wax melts with them and I also got frosting issues, it's a great wax but maybe not for melts.
